    J'ai beau essayer, depuis que j'ai découvert ce chef-d'œuvre je ne peux pas m'empêcher de le réécouter quotidiennement... Cette musique, c'est une expérience. Mieux encore : un voyage.
    Les artistes japonais de la fin du 20ème siècle, c'est quand même quelque chose... En particulier les membres de YMO!

    Just heard this played on Red Light Radio by the guys from Melting Point. Seriously ill production. Stunning that this was released in 1984.

      HH was part of Yellow Magic Orchestra. Both him and ryuichi sakamoto became the producers of the best j-pop of the 80's and 90's. Check out L'acqua sonora by Miharu Koshi.

    This almost sounds like new jack swing, years before new jack swing appeared in America in the late '80s... Except this sounds more minimalist than new jack swing, almost like hip-hop music of the '90s or '00s.
    Hosono was always ahead of his time, coming up with new sounds years before they became popular.

    Sounds like Miharu Koshi's L'acqua Sonora which was actually produced by Haruomi himself.

      Considering how many Japanese game composers were inspired by YMO, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sonic composers were inspired by Hosono.
