HH was part of Yellow Magic Orchestra. Both him and ryuichi sakamoto became the producers of the best j-pop of the 80's and 90's. Check out L'acqua sonora by Miharu Koshi.
This almost sounds like new jack swing, years before new jack swing appeared in America in the late '80s... Except this sounds more minimalist than new jack swing, almost like hip-hop music of the '90s or '00s. Hosono was always ahead of his time, coming up with new sounds years before they became popular.
This Song maik me feel like looking at the comments on a similar songe and finding an exaggerate meme comment about that song and i feel like its not worth to comment about how inappropriato It is however there ppl in tears and feeling what Is written so i think we have different taste but Who cares what im think ing.
Surprisingly, such a song was released in Japan in 1984.
This track came from the future
greetings, guy from 1 year ago
Even if future people (like me) come across this, this track is from that future's future.
The whole album came from the future.
decades ahead of his time

english u bum
Haruomi Hosono so friendly. Always the homie sound.
You can hear the influence of David Sylvian's Japan.
Just heard this played on Red Light Radio by the guys from Melting Point. Seriously ill production. Stunning that this was released in 1984.

I really like Hosono and Koshi's band together: Swing Slow. they made a really nice album
indeed! one of the sickest albums i ever found on youtube!

Interesting observation!
i try to quit the hair of my laptop :c
Come to think of it, this almost sounds like modern trap music!
this is the right vibe, japan delivers
This is excellent!
Sounds like Miharu Koshi's L'acqua Sonora which was actually produced by Haruomi himself.
AND the same album contains a song sung by both Miharu and Haruomi.
The vocal tone is a cross between Sylvian & Numan...but it's Japanese...!
Excellent!
So i stay home and tailor jeans.
okay, this is too good
I agree.
oh my lord.
the drum pattern sounds a bit like Vanity 6 - Nasty girl. Prince ;)
i pick up the Linn drum sounds yes but disagree on the pattern ;)
I’m so glad someone else thought that!
My favorite release by Mr. Hosono is Coachin Moon
Myke Heim That LP is one of the most creative albums I've ever heard! Way ahead of its time especially for 1978!
@@Dog-999i I agree. It blew me away the first time listening to it. Hosono is one of the greatest.
@@ellebarron7112 What a talented man!
Cameo single lifes international cousin ;-]
how the fuck was this made in 1984?
I got no idea, maybe it's a spacetime anomaly. I'm mindfucked by this, in a very good way
Wow.
Sounds like Sonic's soundtrack
Considering how many Japanese game composers were inspired by YMO, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sonic composers were inspired by Hosono.
Sounds more like LucasArts SCUMM game on an AdLib soundcard to me :)
it is a direct reference to Dr. Strangelove from Mr. Kubrik? Just asking
“Hey Dr. Strangelove, are you gonna save the war?” It doesn’t get any more direct than that
