this whole fckn thing sounds, at the very least, scripted and read by bad actors, and at worst, by cheap AI. wtf was this a commercial for something they never even mention ? jfc dont do this to us ever again
I am surprised the figheters have to pay their wn medicals and airfare. Medicals were something Dana would brag about doing, it changes things knowing the fighters are paying for that. I definately would've assumed airfare would've been covered, and im sure they also pay for thier own hotels.
They don't. They get 2 free tickets (air) if he wants to bring another cornerman, he pays it out of his own pocket.. That fight was in Australia.. Bro u sound like a casual
@@rjdman5588 he gets 1 free ticket for himself and for 1 corerman. If he wants additional cornerman, he will have to fund it himself. And a ticket from Canada to Australia ain't cheap. (Not is the counties 45% tax (of his fight purse)
AI generated Podcast yet they spoke the truth. The worst thing about this is that it is such an individual sport that MOST of the fighters will not support a union. Also the fighters that are getting paid the most WILL NEVER support this as this can mean a pay decrease.
It wouldn't mean a pay decrease. UFC is a 12 billion dollar company. Remember it's only 12 divisions, this is not boxing. If they can pay out millions on only 15% of UFC's revenue, they would more than easily afford great pay to everyone else if they were forced to pay up to 50%. You haven't done your math.
Damn they really are peanuts because they still get taxed in the country they fight in if they fight outside the country. Plus paying your team, coach, and camps. That 84% to 16% to fights pay looming crazy rn.
Are you that cucked by corporations, so it’s okay for the corporation to take all the money but because your favorite Epstien island politician told you taxes are bad you assume the same?
There's no easy answer in fighter pay. It's the same thing over and over again. The more fighters get paid, the less they fight on average. Which hurts the company and ppl watch less and less. Vicious circle. So you pay lower level fighters less and reward ppv draws and finishes/ company men who take fights on short notice.
I always find it very weird and strange that athletes payment is such a big thing. How much does the employees of Meta make? 50% of the revenue? Should it be 50%? Why is this a thing for athletes?
Well meta employees are not directly responsible for bringing in clients. While athletes are almost always the reason eyes are watching. It's about knowing your worth. Not even someone like Conor was fairly paid. Why should they make around 50%? Because fighters are 100% the reason anyone watches. And the UFC is so established that now as a monopoly, fighters have no avenues to negotiate. So the issue runs deeper than just the pay. And i.guess personally, I rather see my favorite fighters make a great living, giving away years of their life for my sadistic needs. Rather have a fighter be able to retire decently than have a liar like Dana White have another 100 million dollars
@@funkyfresh2259 After Francis left the UFC his first MMA fight did just over 10k PPV's. He should have fought for free, because 10K PPV dont even cover the promotion of the fight. Maybe people underestimate the worth of the brand.

Other people have pointed this out. We care too much about what athletes make when there are teachers and nurses making a fraction of what private schools and hospitals/insurance companies make. Where are the priorities?
There's so much false information and misleading context here. Tired of hearing people completely unrealistic and unreleated to the sport feel so bad for the oppressed adutls that signed contracts. This is like someone ransacking a CVS and other people feeling bad cause "they had to steal to eat"
This is why I laugh everytime this subject comes up. Too many unserious, lazy thinking people discussing this subject. These sorts of obfuscations and outright sophistry is rampant on the internet. All these same people, by the way, still watch all these supposedly broke, oppressed, and victimized athletes fight for nothing. At this point, there appears to be some sort of bizarre anti-UFC campaign going, and many of the "fans" don't seem to know that it's not in the best interest of themselves, the company, nor the fighters if it succeeds.
@DarthBalsamic People always talk about and criticize how money at the top is spent. It doesn't matter if you're the lower end/middle company, people just want to decide up and basically communize the $ up the richest people/company. That's why it always revolves around what DANA is paying. Even though they are owned by Disney at this point. Amazon's the WORST company right? How much does ELON pay in taxes? If we just had a Few Billion of the US Defense budget for homelessness? As you said. Lazy thinkers. And neither of us are saying that things couldn't be done better, but them not having any health coverage is the goofiest part of all this.
@floatinggoose9197 Indeed. Even many of the things you've mentioned here involves much more comprehensive discussions around them. We can't even have those conversations because of so much lazy thinking, decontextualized and even incorrect information, ignorance, and outright dogma as a result of ideology. I've attempted to have much more in-depth discussions with people on these sorts of issues, and we can't even get to basic facts because of the chasm of understanding of what things are and how they are defined. I also think things could be done better, but even that convo can't occur because many of these same detractors don't hold consistent standards for anyone else, including themselves.
It's pure coincidence, but it's a big confidence boost to think one of my favorite MMA channels started using AI music & voices shortly after I did it. One of the best compliments I could've asked for!
Hey fools. The ufc invests back into the sport! The performance institutes all over the world aren’t cheap. But they are free for the athletes. Top of the line medical care. Massage therapist, all that good stuff. Nutritionist. Does your boss pay you 50% of the revenue he generates? Not likely
You do realize they have to pay for their own medical costs right? Top of the line care that you need to pay for, not to mention your own airfare and your coaches as well. The fighter institutes aren't even being paid for by the UFC entirely, not even 50% by the UFC lol. You can't compare a regular job to being a top athlete of any sport, and no one is asking for 50%, just similar/working towards other major sporting leagues, like the NBA or NFL.
