You didn't mention case trimming. Wouldn't you want the length of all the casing to be uniform .

Hey, I rarely trim my cases, I was trying to doing it religiously, and realized that I wasn't shaving anything most of the time. For accuracy, out of the box, Peterson, Nosler , Lapua do not need trimming and they are probably at a better tolerance than what my current toolset would give me. At 2nd firing, after FL resize, they are at 1.910 (sammi calls for 1.920) and the chamber tolerance is up to 1.925. So I have 0.015 of lee way. It's surely something to keep in mind, when I get to 5 and 6th reload. (I may have my 1k shot by then :) ) Also I don't anneal, so these brass will probably be reaching their ends by the 8th reloads. But totally, If I start seeing huge discrepancies between cases, +/- 0.002, I will trim them back to their original size. Cheers, Mike! Thanks for chiming in!

@@WildBushGrit My thought is, if I'm going to go anal, I might as well go all out. Trim, weigh brass, turn necks, weigh bullets, uniform the pocket, uniform the flash hole, seat the bullet so many thou off the rifling, and measure at the ogive for seating depth. Does all of it do anything for consistent accuracy, I don't know. I'm just anal, as I said.
