I find the German configuration of the timpani drums very odd and difficult because it is opposed to all keyboard instruments which which have the lower notes on the left side of the player and higher notes on the right side of the player. I much prefer the proper American configuration of the timpani drums
never seen a timpani masterclass before, and I think it's a great idea. (I'm not a timp player but I play drums in a rock band)

I am guessing a good timpanist must have perfect or near perfect pitch?
Looks like a banger to me-I am sorry but wheres the tonal aspect of his performance-Teach the kids the art of making beautiful tonal sounds

For me as someone who comes from playing the drumset i much prefer the german configurstion as it is like you would arrange toms on a drumset
