Grog closing his eyes to not get charmed is not only hilarious and in character, but that would actually work in an actual game! The vampire's 'Charm' ability requires the target to see the vampire, so closing your eyes is 100% a valid way to avoid getting charmed.
It might be based on a moment late in the fight on the stream where Matt tried to charm Grog, only for Travis to remember (almost too late) that he was Raging, which at that level for a Berserker prevents charm, among other things.

"I think I hold more blood" Easy way to find out. Give a double red blood cell donation the next time the red cross is in town. Now, do a 50 yrd sprint. No wait time no recovery snack and drink. Best to have EMT nearby. (Don't actually do this, someone will get hurt) First person to pass out has less blood. (Honestly I just want anyone who can give blood to do so, especially if you are: RMV-, O+,O-, or can give a double red[see red cross website for qualifications, I'm too short.)
I feel bad for Delilah. She wanted nothing more than to save her husband and never lose him again, but after nobody could help until vecna (the whispered one) she got caught up in this darkness, power and obsession (understandably considering he was the only one to help her - which btw is crazy bullshit in a world where resurrections and all sorts of magical healing is possible, SURELY there were possibilities in helping her and ultimately nobody who could wanted to which makes me even more understanding of her situation). Vox Machina somewhat understandably did not try to understand considering the circumstances but ultimately they only drive her further into darkness instead of trying to find another way. She's a very human character and probably the greatest villain of all of campaign one. Delilah should have had a brighter story, but circumstances and her own choices led her to darkness, madness, and oblivion... but the things we would do for love right?
The Briarwoods are from Wildemount originally where there is a very strict law against necromancy of any kind. And even the best spell in the "bring back from the dead" category, ie. True Resurrection, is from the school of necromancy. So even though Delilah was very high up in the realm of the Dwendalian Empire(specifically the Archmage of Antiquity of the Cerberus Assembly), there was nothing that could be done except for the help of the Whispered One, aka Vecna.
Maybe as a mini-arc in your campaign, you could go rescue BBEG's soul from wherever it is and try to redeem him through an act of kindness. If he's powerful enough to become a lich, he'd be a very useful ally. If he still tries to kill you, you can just kick his ass like you would have done before the card. Win-win lol
Well, I'm pleased to inform you that I've recovered from my near death experience, caused by taking a gulp of water right before Adam said "touch her with one of your noodly appendeges". Note to self: pause video before drinking anything.
Putting the Deck of Many Things into play is a massive risk. There are more positive cards than negative, but it's an invitation to chaos. It's fun, but you've got to be prepared for literally anything. I've been thinking that maybe it might be a good basis for a campaign where the actual big bad is a god of chaos, and one of their paladins acquires the deck and just goes around tricking people in strategically important places to draw cards just to create as much chaos as they can. The world being rewritten around the player characters every time a new person draws a card would be fascinating. What's that? There's a whole new kingdom that just popped up overnight? Someone drew the moon card and completely rewrote everything. But it would make being a DM a nightmare, because you just can't plan for what's coming next - you can decide which cards are being drawn by which people behind the scenes, but if the party gets their hands on it, then all bets are off.
@@thejayschmidt Coolest/oddest fact I learned while working there - babies are born with about a cup of blood or less. Also when you donate blood, that pint gets separated out into its different components (platelets, plasma, red blood cells, and white blood cells) and will go to up to three different folx. WBC don't get used except in very specific circumstances. The platelet volume out of a pint of blood is about 2 tablespoons. If you are a person who can donate platelets, you can replace upwards of 40 whole blood donors if you have a high enough count that you can do a triple platelet donation. If legal and not dangerous for you, DONATE BLOOD! If you have the fortitude to be able to handle a needle in your arm for a couple of hours (literally), donate platelets! YES!
We need "The Cupcake" animated.
Why?
Because Laura Freakin' Bailey, that's why. Lol
"I think I hold more blood"
Easy way to find out.
Keyleth used mfing solar beam....Percywtf
At 1,000,000 subscribers, Jay's going to do a blood reveal
Kiki uses sunbeam. It's super effective 💪
Adam's shirt is so ironic for this episode.
Dragon Ball Z fan here as well, and I am 63. However, watched it when I was in my 40's. I love this show.
This deserves an emmy
Me: “dafuq is this? A canadian siege?”
Adam: Have you watched the crowd work?
Me I know you haven't because neither of you are crying.
i had the same reaction to that!! I think there were at least a couple what felt like DBZ homages in this episode, loved it
"keep firing" hey man he only has so many attacks per round
Maybe as a mini-arc in your campaign, you could go rescue BBEG's soul from wherever it is and try to redeem him through an act of kindness. If he's powerful enough to become a lich, he'd be a very useful ally.
If he still tries to kill you, you can just kick his ass like you would have done before the card. Win-win lol
Well, I'm pleased to inform you that I've recovered from my near death experience, caused by taking a gulp of water right before Adam said "touch her with one of your noodly appendeges". Note to self: pause video before drinking anything.
"DO IT! DO IT KEYCALO!"
Can't wait for next episode! Percy incoming
I BLAME YOU BLACK LIST (Blindspot) haha .
REAL MEN HUG!!!! - Grog
Lol as a former blood bank worker, yes Jay you have more blood than Adam. It's between 8 and 10% of your body weight generally.
I KNEW IT! Best comment ever.
(Ask your blood bank what they need more from your blood type.)
Welcome all who are coming straight from the live steam
Woop woop. 🥳 The stream was such fun!
Again, it's not the Blacklist that Ashley was on. It was Blindspot. 😀
I would so love watch you two play dnd
Oh man, your poor DM 😂😂
THE BLIND SPOT
I've watched over 80 different reactors to TLoVM. I have to say you are in my top 3 (all very different). I'm now watching y'all all over again. Thanks so much.
Are you guys gonna post the watch along on the Patreon for this one soon?
Technically, the Briarwoods aren't the big bad, just a mini boss XD I sure hope they get at least a third season!
after hearing their stories, i really want to play a campaign with these guys.
It's also a testament to how bad previous adaptations of D&D have been. Because it's not like we haven't had any. They've just all been terrible.
Record of Lodoss War isn't bad. ;p
@@Heavensrun Oh, was RLW an actual campaingn the author played through?
Everyone: Damn, this just got crazy
Me: HOLY CRAP, THAT THE SPHERE OF ANNIHILATION!!!!
It's not a Sphere of Annihilation.
It's a sphere that acts as a gateway to Thar Amphala in the Shadowfell.
Actual Sphere of Annihilation can be controlled -- this sphere has an Anti-Magic Field attached to it.
Yeah, Sylas got makkankosappoed to dust
I'm using this Deck of Many Things story to further justify never letting that deck in my games, I've had a player begging me for it for years.
I came from the stream!
I just noticed where is Grogs beard?
Later in the campaign.
Funny that you guys mentioned the Deck of Many Things, because Grog has a... history... with those cards...
You know Laura Bailey did voice work for Dragon Ball Z right?
Beware the Deck. Lol
It was the 11th episode.. and this episode really just went to 11.
The Void card? LOL. You guys have much in common with Critical Role. LOL.
Love that story you guys had. That was a funny way to end your game. But hey he got a deck of many things out of it.
PLEASE DON'T DARE A STUDIO TO BE LETHEAL
but that isnt how she died the first time, the first time was actually later on stream had to do with a gold fish
thats why you bury and burn all mention of the deck.
It was Blindspot, not the Blacklist 😂
James Spader would be calling you guys soon to claim vengeance for that....
Can anyone help me? Ive joined the discord via the link in the description but when I try and send a message in general chat it won't deliver. What do I do? it keeps saying I don't share a server but I don't know why? Im probs just being an idiot but its my first time using discord
You guys need to react to Arcane!
They did, but the videos got claimed and blocked on RUclips, so they are all on their Patreon.
