Anton "Källberry" börjar äntligen få betalt för hur bra han egentligen var redan för några år sedan utan att det ville sig riktigt på den internationella scenen. Jag trodde länge att det var han som skulle spela förstafiolen bland svenskarna på det sätt som Truls gör, men han behövde lite tid på sig att blomma ut och hitta det där riktiga självförtroendet som vi alla njuter av att se nu. Underbart Anton...!
We gotta give respect to Källberg today didnt do any misstake . Sure wang och wasnt at his best . But still
I agree. There is this talk about Wang`s mental instability, him having a bad day etc., but Källberg played very, very good. He had a perfect game plane and executed it.

It's sad to see, but WCQ is only in decline after the Olympics. He lost his panache and self-confidence, it is known that he has not forgotten how to play table tennis, but he is not the same player anymore. Let's keep our fingers crossed that he gets back to his former condition.

Out of the shadow of Truls he went and is now shining on his own!!! "Schellberry" not so far have had his big break through in the TT world. Was this the game to claim his fame? Let's see what the future holds for him. Källberg deserved the win and i'm very very happy for him. Their was moments were he showed he is a world player and this scalp was important for him i believe. Chuqin looks like he is in an urgent need of a longer vacation but the expectation on him was high tonight according to the shouting from the chinese coach so he should be in form but mentally it looked like he where somewhere else in his mind. It does not change the fact thet Källberg was beating him in 3 clean set. AMAZING!!!

Sad to see this. Wang Chuqin was so dominated in the first half of this year. The Olympics defeat really shattered his confidence. Same thing happened to Fan Zhendong in 2019. He must overcome this if he want to become the next leading Chinese player like Ma Long and Fan Zhendong.

Also overcome the fact that the gap is not as big as it was then. Lots of europeans have leveled up 2 times in the last year and at their best chinese players will have to watch out. And these last months there seem to be a shift in mental approach, there just doesn't seem to be this ominous/impossible vibe playing against chinese like it was for so long. Way more open field and tt future is looking good.

Wang has had 3 months of bad matches after shredding through the world stage for a full year. All top Chinese players go through phases like this, and Wang will probably improve his performance as we get nearer to world champs.
At this point. WCQ's career in China just might be over. Unless they rigged games intentionally for massive profits, he's going to be protected. Either way, this doesn't look good for WCQ.
Which other top Chinese players go through phases like this?
@@louiewong6808 in the recent years, FZD and LGY, FZD had 2 down periods imo, Wang's body and movement are so rigid, even worse than the last tourney he lost in, dude climbed hard to the top and possibly had too much pressure from that or from the team...idk
@tallman862713 @louiewong6808 LJK also had this kind of slump after a pretty good 2019. Only recently he started coming back to form.
@@louiewong6808 Xu Xin also suffered many losses in 2019 but came back to an amazing year in 2020, Ma long struggled from 2013-2014 and then coming back to win the world champs in 2015. Although it can’t be certain, Wang is probably tired from all the stress in the last months and lacking motivation to train. I think he’ll bounce back but keeping WR1 with FZD and LSD on the hunt will be tough for him.

Chinese players nowadays (except Ma Long and Fan Zhendong) have either illegal either long serve and that is why they lose. Wang chuqin lost a lot of points from his serve and he continued serving long on the forehand side
This is not Wang that we're used to see...but he'll come back stronger psychologically, I'm sure! It seems that is the problem right now or maybe something else in his personal life going on. We'll see.

Swede here, the commentator is actually pronouncing his name pretty close to how a native swede would pronounce it. The K in Källberg is not a hard K, rather a 'sh' sound. And 'berry' is probably the english word which sounds closest to 'berg'. So 'Shellberry' is actually how you pronounce is name

I don’t follow tabletennis as much these days, but how on Earth is this guy World #1 with how inconsistent he is? The mighty have fallen since Ma Long. He’s going to be joining Chen Qi at the rice fields at this rate.
Wang Chuqin is burned out or something. In the beginning of the year he won everything. Now he loses almost every match.
It seems to me that some Chinese players, especially Wang Chuqin, are less mentally coached than the European players, as they're less able to react to unpredicted stuff and win anyway after a lost set. Europe seems ahead in players' mental strength

That's not true. They are overall definitely mentally tougher. They are simply getting outplayed by European players recently. Their skills and techniques are no longer more advanced.

If Wangbet can earn 1000 times more money by losing to an inferior player, why not? They can enjoy an early retirement in a short Sports career. it's crazy to know this is happening in Table Tennis. I won't even want to watch this Sports anymore. It's now becoming like the rigged World Cup in Qatar and the NBA finals where the NBA president openly admitted the Kings were purposely robbed.
@@kaizhong664 I see your point. The technique gap between Chinese and European players isn't the same as 10 years ago, it's clearly noticeable. However, I don't think that Kallberg has a level of technique near or better than the Wang Chuqin's; the cause of his win must be searched in other fields of the game, and in my opinion mental preparation is a strong reason of that

Wang Chuqin needs to take a break and get used to his new paddle and get his confidence back. The Olympics was very unfortunate with his paddle being broken, but to succeed you need to look forward and not back.
Not playing on the DHS tables is playing a big part in recent results. I don't think his new blade which would be identical to his last blade would matter 1/10th as much as a different table
They change paddles every all the time/every tournament by routine. Or do you mean he has changed setup and type of racket?

he also lost in Asian cup to a 15 year old Iranian boy Benyamin Faraji who probably had never played any pro matches at this level. A silver lining is that Faraji nearly beat Lin Shidong in the singles event but still with his experience you would never have thought it.

The commentators are not Swedish so they aren't going to pronounce his name 100% right, just like they won't pronounce Chinese names 100% right. Vu son niveau actuel il l'aurai défoncé mais ca fait du bien de voir des supers joueurs européens comme Anton karllberg , truls Moregard , alexis et felix lebrun qui gagnent des matchs contre les chinois qui semblent se reposer sur leur laurier.
Le vent semble tourner en faveur des européens qui progressent bien plus vite que les autres .

I'm a swede and I can tell you that the commentator is as close to being absolutely correct as I have ever heard an Englishspeaking person pronounce a Swedish name with an "ä" in it and with a "g" at the end. FYI he has been doing his homework and all the others have not. As a swede I want to give him credit for that.👏👏
@@storstn Persson said in an interview, the g at the end is spoken softer. Like Schellber, followed a breath sound. The English interviewers had trouble getting it right. Funny part of the interview btw. So Shellberry sounds a bit silly, but for native English speakers it might be the best they can do. And they pronounce the K right.
