You can overlay approach charts on sectionals with foreflight, and they are transparent so you can see the sectional through it. Is the difference that you can send the flight plan to the garmin?
My mind still can’t process how do you understand and read those scary complicated looking maps and navigate around the airport 😭 Hope I can be able to do that one day!
No one does until you actually train to do it. You can find RUclips videos on how to read them. Fly8ma is a RUclips channel that great video on how to be a private pilot, angle of attack is another one, the finner points etc
I made the switch because all of the equipment in my airplane is Garman, and after trying to Garman app, I found it very intuitive and actually a lot easier for me. I also like the layout because it is similar to what you see on the garmin GTN Avionics. The other reason is that I feel Garmin has a great spot to be able to innovate more and be able to create a platform that will offer way more features down the road. That is just my opinion and so far I’ve been very happy with the Garmin Pilot app.
I was debating on getting the garmin watch, so I got Garmin pilot as it’s required for the watch, as well as working like foreflight plus syncing with the plane. It’s been great for me so far but my only complaint is lack of training videos like this one. I’m pretty new to flying (student around 60 hours) and could really use more detailed videos explaining how to use it. I’m subbing and coming back to this one when I start my instrument but if you would make more in the meantime that would be great haha
Garmin pilot is a whole lot better than Foreflight when used in Europe. Foreflight is just worthless compared to Garmin Pilot and Sky Demon, at least for use in Europe. Too many whistles and bells, confusing all over and utterly terrible graphic rendering. Been flying since 1978, Jeppesen subscriber for well over 30 years, high time private pilot, I repeat, Foreflight is a shambles and it is way too expensive for what it delivers....
Thanks for letting us see the iPad in action. Which ipad do you recommended for flying? iPad model(iPad air, iPad mini, etc 64gb or 128gb Wi-Fi or cellular
I have it installed on my iPhone and on my iPad. My iPad is wifi only, no cellular; once you start flying to can connect directly to the plane using blutooth and will not need cellular. Just plan it out on wifi and set it all up before you board if you lack cellular. It’s been working well for me this far.
I personally recommend the mini. I have flown with both. If you don’t need it right away, there are rumors a new mini may be released this spring. Again, rumors so that may be a lie. Also I recommend the Apple Pencil instead of using your fingers for taking notes.
Could you make a long form tutorial about that? It was too fast to catch and I’d love to understand they why of each step. Thanks.
Sure!!
I would say looks better than ForeFlight planner....
Thanks for the awesome videos
Thank you it’s useful for me please little slow to be able following steps
Thank you

Awesome!
Awesome. Thank you. Can you please do video on approach procedures for VFR on Garmin pilot?
I could! I’ll make one!
I'm loving Garmin pilot so far ❤❤❤❤❤

Where can I sign up to be your co-pilot as an intern? I am based at CYYC.
Can be done in Microsoft Flight Simulator with an handheld tablet and computer?
Funny looking this up your arrival is my home town airport
I can do all this on foreflight and more. Why make the switch?

Free
Do you have to have Garmin Pilot to update 750/650 databases using the Flightstream 510?
Do you have a slower version of this presentation? I could understand you know a lot about Garmin Pilot but nu much more…

Fore Flight was / is apple based. I have android. If i was to use either, it would be Garmin.
The only reason I would use this over Foreflight is if it's available on android
Great app
Thanks for letting us see the iPad in action.
Which ipad do you recommended for flying?
iPad model(iPad air, iPad mini, etc
64gb or 128gb
Wi-Fi or cellular
iPad mini with cellular
@@roycegreiner can you advise on the Gb size to run Foreflight?
how does the app work? I mean, with mobile data or does it connect to the plane's GPS? Or does it work without any of that?
I have it installed on my iPhone and on my iPad. My iPad is wifi only, no cellular; once you start flying to can connect directly to the plane using blutooth and will not need cellular. Just plan it out on wifi and set it all up before you board if you lack cellular. It’s been working well for me this far.
Can you do it faster? 😅
Hahaha that was maximum hahaha plus I’m in my 30s so every year it gets a bit slower now hahaha
But can I use it for MSFS? 😄
Yes you can! I love Garmin Pilot.
It's pretty similar to navigraph chart if you want 😅
Would you recommend the iPad Air or the iPad mini
I personally recommend the mini. I have flown with both. If you don’t need it right away, there are rumors a new mini may be released this spring. Again, rumors so that may be a lie. Also I recommend the Apple Pencil instead of using your fingers for taking notes.
dizzy vectors and waypoints😅
i mean what is the cost for the garmin app? and does it connect to a sentry ?
It does not connect to a sentry but it’s cheaper than ForeFlight by about $25-30 dollars for the first tier plan.
Anyone know how to reduce the speed of this freaking auctioneer by about 99.9% so we can actually understand what he's saying?
Love the content but ForeFlight is better
I think Garmin Pilot is way better experience
Just to fast talking,,,,talk normal much lower please thank u for your efforts 😮
Yeah ForeFlight is better
We don't need pilot anymore if everyone depends on technology.
Well the pilot isn't necessary, but damn I would rather fly as the pilot than as the passenger
Yes let’s all go back to using giant arrows on the ground to navigate
or balloon haha
