I met a guy who used to say that it was shot in space, I knew it was not possible, and I confirmed it when I saw the VFX breakdown behind the scene shots.
@@Muradsahar it’s also very impressive that this VFX was in crafted in 2013, and technology nowadays has evolved and yet still not have come close to the brilliance of the cgi in those times
OffPlanet, well, look again. There's a snippet with her and N. Kidman at the 2018 Oscars on YT. It's scary. Plastic surgery applied to an actress bears the risc of putting her out of business. But she made the decision. Why Mrs. Bullok decided this way is beyond me.
True that. People criticizing this movie what really have they achieved in their own lives? The sheer amount of hard work that went behind filming this is enormous.
From " Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN " awesome movie but with a small budget to " GRAVITY " Alfonso is one of, at least to me, one of the greatest movie directors of all times.
If you're suggesting that NASA is faking everytihing with CGI, then I'd say EVERYONE should learn from them. Because if everything that NASA releases is CGI, then they have the absolute best VFX artists that can pump out hours of CGI every now and then. Not to mention the render times it would take to render everything NASA supposedly does in your eyes. You people show just how little you know about that matter.
i think 53 million a day is enough to easily pull it off. For crying out loud a stupid dumb movie did this in 2013 come on wake up and smell the coffee!!
@@hawthornselitelevel1220 again.. render times and not to mention live streams. Explain to me how such big render files could possibly be rendered in real time?
Yeah...that's what everybody would wanted but truth is....life Isn't always happy at the end. It's more methaphoric I think....not everything can happen the way we want. 😞
The zero-g scenes in Apollo 13 were miles ahead, since they actually show real weightlessness. They actually built the set inside NASA's plane "The vomit comet", which then repeatedly went into a dive providing 25-30 seconds of true weightlessness on each dive. They should have went with that approach in "Gravity" too. I have yet to see a convincing "fake" weightless scene. Oversett
Ron Howard: Lets build a space ship inside of a Jet and dive repeatedly to create zero g's James Cameron: Lets build a full size cruise ship, put people on it and actually sink it. Alfonzo: Hey go stand over there in front of that green screen
+Anthony Studios One thing you're never going to get is a movie actually filmed in space. Therefore, you will deal with a downpour of CGI when it comes to space-related films.
Agreed. This movie seemed like a scene from Interstellar. The only reason this got all the praise was because it had reasonable CGI that looked 'better'. The only reason for this is because Christopher Nolan (Director of Interstellar) decided not to use much CGI, in fact 70% of the scenes that look like CGI aren't.
8 years later & this movie is still absolutely amazing.
I can't believe it's already that old.
Honestly this is one of those movies that just keeps pulling you back, it's so personal and beautiful.
such a great movie, You wouldn't think it wasn't shot in space.

What about 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Cuaron likes to shoot long takes, tho. Also, it costs allot.
This film is a work of art, not a documentary on weightlessness...
