Every time I watch an interview with Matty I'm always reminded of why I love him so much. The 1975 is something so much bigger than just a band. Everything they put out seems to speak of a moment in time, not just the band itself. They define an era. It's beautiful and I can't believe that I'm lucky enough to live during the time that they are existing.
you can tell that the second album ‘notes on a conditional form’ is having an impact on matty and not in a joyful way or maybe it’s just what I observe from this interview. first of all matty looks absolutely tired and who could blame him his been non stop touring this year and has been in the works of a new album. i believe that matty even thinks that everything is very rush rush. a brief inquiry we saw matty looking the most healthiest his ever looked and in his interviews he seemed like he very much cared about the album and the meaning, i know in this interview he said when you throw an album out into the world it becomes something else because the audience makes it that way but he doesn’t seemed as interested in Notes because truthfully i think his management are forcing them to keep on going and making money for their record label. in this interview matty answered one of the questions with ‘i don’t care’ and when you’re tired let me tell you something it drives you crazy. they’ve had to push back the European tour dates because the album is not up to scratch yet and they don’t have the visuals planned for tour yet. it’s like his label saw the 1975 blow up during this era in particular with a brief inquiry, saw the 1975 tour some great places like coachella, headlining reading etc and all these people see is money coming their way. the 1975 always produce good work but they need to be careful that this forcefulness and rapid rushing around doesn’t make their new album seem lazy and boring. music comes from experiences and living in the moment i just want them to be at their best when Notes is ready to be released. i think he needs a break from the touring and making a new record then be at his best when his ready to be.
jaysways i dont think anyones forcing them to do it its just matty setting high standards for himself doesnt one of the band members own the label dirty hit that theyre signed to
I understand what your saying however dirty hit is an independent label created by Matty and Jamie Osborne, everything they are doing is what he decides he wants to do, notes will come out when it is ready and no sooner than that
@@senorcoonster okay but in what context was i addressing that the 1975 produce and deliver the ‘same’ music? i had written this BEFORE Notes had even been released. also don’t tell somebody what they should and shouldn’t do just because you might like how they evolve and change the sound of their music. i don’t have a problem with their evolving or change to music as they have always been open to different genres. i literally said that he had seemed tired and that with ‘a brief inquiry’ matty seemed like he had more energy and oomph about him.
I think so. He’s done some odd stuff on stage/been kinda moody, like how he was when I knew he was on drugs (before he even came out about it). Ppl attacked me whenever I mentioned he seemed like he was on drugs & then he came out about it....so I’m sure ppl will attack me now. He looks bad. Like he did when I first thought it...also like he hasn’t taken a shower in days. He doesn’t look healthy & fresh likes he’s taking care of himself back when he announced he was sober

No one does heroin purely for sleep problems... although I’m sure he did indeed have sleep problems but I bet a lot of them were from uppers he was taking or even withdrawals & mental health issues that were not being properly managed (also exacerbated by recreational drug use) I’m not anti drug nor am I hating on him, I’m just saying

The 1975’s quality never decreased. If you follow the 1975 thinking you are going to get the same thing every time, you are following the wrong band.
