What a great goal by Mats ! And to Ray Bourque's defence who was the man covering Naslund on the play, there is no way he could forsee such a brilliant move by the Viking. Top notch 👌
Patrick warr scared of nothing he came skating out there and give his little buddy. His little buddy called the little Viking Matt naslin.. for everybody these days. That's all this game it is all written
Cam Neely always took his game to another level Vs Montreal and almost won this game by himself!! He actually was successful, on many other occasions! What a beast! Take away the bad luck injuries, along with Gord Kluzak and that Boston team should have won at least 1 cup in the 80's or early 90's. Of course the Oilers would argue that one ;) I wonder if Vancouver would like to trade for Cam? How about, 1 for 1? We have this Barry Pederson kid, scored over 90 points as a rookie. Sorry Vancouver. If it makes you feel a bit better, you stole Lumme from us, for Jassen Cullimore, if my memory serves me.......which is a coin flip these days. Lol Cheers from Montreal
A buck 65 kills Boston in 85 and 87, have to love it when the little David beats the Goliath. Thank you Mats for the wonderful memories you were fun to watch. P.S. to the real classy fans of Montreal gave that little guy a standing ovation at the 87 Canada cup line up introductions playing for Sweden.
On dirait que Naslund reculait par peur de voir les gros joueurs tous s'empiler par dessus lui.🙂 Merci Mats! Thanks Mats! It looked like he was backing up not wanting the bigger players piling up on top of him.
God, goaltending was terrible in the 80’s. Not one ‘good’ goal. Five hold the size of beach balls! Nice to see Gradin and Neely together. Both great Canucks that we gave away!!
Wow, way to go Vancouver for trading Neely for Pederson. That was like trading to get a broken down Buick Skylark, a car that was good in it's day but is past it's prime, by giving up a brand new Corvette. That franchise will never win a cup!
The Canucks gave up on Neely because he was young and loved to party, they wanted an experienced, wholesome veteran like Pederson to score and not be a distraction off the ice. If it's any consolation the Bruins made the exact same mistake 25 years later for the exact same reason. They gave away Tyler Seguin to Dallas becase he was 21 and loved to party. They'll never win another Cup in my lifetime
Patrick started to change the style to more of what we see now with the butterfly stance. Trust me. those were great goalies. If they had todays gear and training they would be awesome.
different style - they taught goalies back then to 'stand up', thinking it covered more of the net. Then someone noticed that butterfly goaltenders seemed to be more successful, and that most goals were scored along the ice - so by the 90's most goalies were doing butterfly.

Oh I miss these days of the NHL. 80s hockey and pro wrestling...and the Expos...
Great times bortherrrr!!
The 80's was the time to be alive.
Wow! Naslund did the "Forsberg" (on the goal) before the move became known as such many years later.
That "Forsberg" was actually preceded my Mario Lemieux, so it's actually the "Mario Lemieux"

The little Viking, what a goal!
Le petit Viking. Quelle but!
Jetais seulment 11 ans.
Salut from Montreal.
I’ve been told that the Forum was a wonderful place to watch hockey
You've been told correctly. they should've never demolished it. They should have turned it into practice/training facility + Habs museum.
Yeah, went to many games there in the late 60s and early 70s, mostly Jr. Canadiens, but a few Habs games. Pretty awesome.
Ça ramène des souvenirs! That’s bring back some memories!
Marc Choret Le hockey a bien changé
Oui. Yes.
Mats nazlund was a beast.
Mats Nasloon.
leafyutube *Näslund
Markwart got rocked by Lalor.

Its the king of goaltending and goal scoring that Montreal needs once again, been to long.
The Habs have not had a centre like Bobby Smith, since Bobby Smith. And that move by Naslund is the Forsberg before there ever was a Forsberg.
that's Dahlin, not Naslund
@@Kevin-xk8bs Yeah Kjell Dahlin scored the first goal in the video. The OT goal was scored by Mats Naslund.
The good ol' days when the boards used to be blank.

Beauty goal by the Lil viking!
Fucking Cam Neely.
Honestly, one of the best it was my privilege to hate.
Those late 80's early 90's Bruins teams were Cam Neely and Ray Bourque. That's it.
ahh such happy faces!

How many Stanley Cup rings does Neely have?
@@nicks.6341 How many do you have?

Neely realy outclass roy
Ah yes indeed -
But how many Stanley Cups did Neely win as a player ?
@@GdF420 I know Roy can't hear M. Tremblay because he had his Stanley Cup rings plugging his ear.
Habs were tough here..... man have they ever changed, a team of 95% SHRIMPS...
GET RID OF UPPER MANAGEMENT NOW
Roy realy suck againt neely :(

Wow horrible goaltending
The pads were small, and the goalies were stander uppers until the turn of the century.

Roy gave up some cheap goals in this game. I'm glad Montreal won though!
