Sneak Attack has a benefit of being one of the few skills that boost gunlance shell damage, which is why it's taken over the GL meta the past few weeks. Only issue is it can't be on anything other than these armor pieces but you seem to only need two to make it shine
Important: the Sneak Attack has a translation error, instead of 12% damage boost at lvl its 20% damage boost. Its also one of the few skills that boost Gunlance shells
Adrenaline Rush is another Frontier skill. It was called Stylish Assault in that game. If you're using a status weapon the basic cookie cutter set to have is: Gold Rathian helm/waist, Lucent arms/legs. Chest piece is up to preference.
So… I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this to you already, but fun fact: The amount of damage the extra hits from silkbind shockwave do is based purely on your elemental attack, so the more element your horn has, the larger shockwave damage pops, they can even break 100+ damage per pop in the right circumstances.
12:00 I was almost yelling at my screen, saying "clap this man like a pair of hands!" And Lucent obliged. Good run though. I love how the dev team gave it some Frontier-style moves.
Sneak Attack is a bit different from what you'd expect. Initially I thought you had to be facing their backside for it to be active, but no. Anywhere behind the head of the monster counts towards Sneak Attack.
All weapon types can damage the tail and break off the feathers when they are coated in poison in turn resetting him to do the animation again and delaying his BIG tail slam. Cutting can cut the tail off like a regular narga.
One thing i didnt like about this moster is that you can target him when hes invisible, unlike Chameleos, I think they should change that in the future
Was the same in 3U so pretty sure is deliverate. As technically lucent isn't invisible, is only thanks to the moonlight that it appears invisible, as far as I know chameleos on top of having the body for it is aided by the mist making it much harder to locate.
Boyyyy was I waiting for this one and it did not disappoint. Lucent constantly keeps you on your toes with his moves, and those mixups are straight up nasty as you saw. Def the hardest of the 4 for me, capcom really delivered with this here first title update. Good hunt as per usual!
That needle toss into the air that creates circles of spikes. Yeah thats a Peerless Nargacuga move from monster hunter frontier. Which you can still play on private servers on PC
I haven’t tried fighting it solo but in multiplayer it hit hard. Fun Fact: Lucent has a frontier move which is from Blinking ( The rings of poisonous quills in circles around the monster!)
By far my most favorite monster to fight in sunbreak. Lucent's so fast and engaging, i can never get tired of fighting it, same with gold and silver raths. Unfortunately i cant say the same to Seething...as i found em way easier in Rise than in World. Maybe it's because Seething easily gets knocked down, if you just target his glowing tail and face which you would normally keep attacking anyways..... Here's hoping that other upcoming monsters and variants are as fun as lucent and the metal raths.
I find seething to be decently difficult, even if by just a bit. He does get knocked down too much though. But i still find him harder than IB seething because IB seething just didn't have any danger imo
@@spinomania1921 You're not alone. I remember in IB I would cheese Seething really easily with a Bow, but it doesn't feel as free of a fight in this game for some reason. It's still not that difficult, but I do need to actually pay close attention to the scales to avoid getting overwhelmed.
I love Lucent Nargacuga, I always get hit with the big tail slam because I'm convinced you can Metsu Shoryugeki it, I just haven't gotten the timing yet. I do hope you go the distance whenever you start your 3U journey so you can face this man again in his original form.
The ultimate Gouger HATED fighting that thing, the whole way was just, trying to survive endless combos wondering when it was gonna stop so i can get two hits in, only to instantly get punished. I think it's one of those monsters that's mainly fun to people who like to flex about how others should just "get good".
Looks more like Lucents younger cousin. Original Lucent was big, the Arena was much whider as well. Her Roar reached over nearly the entire Area, you couldnt use Pitfall Traps, and her Head was super hard. Oh and her Poison Spikes reached everywhere, they even faced trought a Wing. Her Tail had even more reach, and she was obviously much more bulky. Old Lucent was such a Menace. 24:30 for some reason they striped the Weapons of there unique Traits. Originaly Lucents Weapons had small Poison, often hidden behind Awaken, very long Purple, and maxed out Sharpness, whitout need for Handicraft, and the Raw was very low, but it had Affinity for days to even that out. The Weapons how they are now are still fine, but its weird how they changed so much.
We're both main ls n hunting horn. As for HH. I always look for buff "sonic barrier" which is from scorned magnamalo HH. that buff save me many times lol. Before i spin like a beyblade or do some smacking head combos I always activate that buff. More chances of KO for combos thats not interrupted
Sonic Barrier is good for solo play, but just watch out when using it in multiplayer. I have to admit I may have gotten my friends carted once or twice with a poorly-timed one. And it's not always easy to keep track of when's the right time to get it in a big fight with multiple people and you need to mainly focus on yourself.
Well looks like Lucent nargacuga gave you some trouble honestly i would had been surprised if you didn't have trouble being the first time hunting the monster for ya though tbh he was way tougher in his original game mh3u
To be fair, Lucent Narga is actually way stronger and chains its attacks way better in Sunbreak. It's just that Hunters are so powerful at this point, that yeah... I still have to agree. Although I guess the head gimmick from 3U not returning also helped. But honestly, that mechanic made no sense anyway.
@@LonesomeDevil meh most gimmicks in sunbreak make fights way way easier like imagine if we had gotten the iceborne fatalis on here im pretty sure the flame attacks besides his ultimate flame attack wouldn't be a problem
Lucent is the same dificulty as 3U TBH. I think y'all just absolutely sucked back in the 3U days because it's really not a hard game. I played the entire game recently, and in my 200ish hours doing everything in the game I can count on one hand the amount of quests I failed.

Start the fight by landing a bullet barrage at the monster's tail
It's really cool when he goes invisible, the music muffles and then he does that surprise backflip tail attack. Nice details. ^^
Important: the Sneak Attack has a translation error, instead of 12% damage boost at lvl its 20% damage boost.

Not behind the head, you need to cut the body in two, that means in cases like tigrex sneak attack doesn't work in his front legs
All weapon types can damage the tail and break off the feathers when they are coated in poison in turn resetting him to do the animation again and delaying his BIG tail slam. Cutting can cut the tail off like a regular narga.
The move where Lucent makes the ring of poison barbs rain down is actually a move that Blinking Nargacuga used in Frontier!
One thing i didnt like about this moster is that you can target him when hes invisible, unlike Chameleos, I think they should change that in the future
I think its because his eyes glow, and the mist moves around when he moves. Chameleos doesn't make the mist move around AFAIK.
Was the same in 3U so pretty sure is deliverate.

This is the coolest Naracuga I’ve ever seen. Granted I’ve only seen this one and World’s Naracuga.
Lucent and Daimyo are the only monsters who don't kill anyone in their intros in Sunbreak
I don't think Lunagaron or Aurora Somnacanth do either
Idk without checking tho
@@DemonOfCoffee Oh true Luna doesn't but Aurora does

Also the spin is Frontier as well
Hearing that chrono trigger boss battle music brings back good memories
That mighty keef soundbite was glorious😂
I imagine that if we had the mobility and abilities the hunters have now in the third gen, Lucent wouldn’t have been that hard then either

Time to play Sunbreak via watching you play it.
😬😬😬😬 ooooof, that sucks

I wonder if you can counter it. I havent re hunted them yet

I think after dealing with Silverwind and Nargacuga in MHGU, I felt slightly more prepared.....only slightly
I beat chrono trigger for the first time a couple days ago. Nice choice

What style are you using for the Hunting Horn? Cause I really want a weapon that is fast and hits hard and Hunting Horn looks like one of them.
I use the performance mode mainly because at the very start of the recital, you have some i-frames that I like to take advantage of sometimes.
