@@amoldeshpande5579 with you fingernails carefully scratch the berk and see if its green. If it green then have change for recovery. Put in half shade and water when top part of soil in dry.

It is the most important action to be taken while making a plant to a bonsai. Bonsais actually need root pruning at least once in two years. Root pruning doesn't makes any harm to the plant but it matters when you cut the roots up to its trunk.
