Welcome to The Scented!
Today's video is all about fragrances that are NOT safe for the workplace. These fragrances are either too sexy, too strong or too polarizing and would be risky to wear in a typical workplace environment where fragrances are generally allowed. I will also provide a recommended alternative for most of the fragrances mentioned.

I wear Black Orchid to work, and probably shouldn’t. I didn’t realize how loud it was (I go nose blind every time) and the compliments were constant and embarrassing. I’m sure for every compliment, there was someone wanting to report me to HR 😂

I'm a nurse, so I also can't wear strong scents to work. I usually wear 1 squirt of something super-fresh, like Ferrari Bright Neroli, or EL White Linen. Yes, I know they are dated, cheap & not 'glam', but they are soft & oddly, get me a lot of compliments. I think there are enough nasty smells in a hospital, that a soft nice smell can be comforting to patients, but also realize that some people are very sensitive to scents. Also, I love the cooing in the background. I hope you're having the best time ever, enjoying yur new baby!
I like White Linen. Gotta try the Ferrari one. Do you know Noa by Cacharel? It’s a light, fresh and comforting fragrance.
I would recommend Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. It’s light, fresh, inoffensive, and comforting.
anything goes at our office. My co-worker wears Angel exclusively. We burn scented candles, use wax warmers and diffuse oils daily.
I’m really jealous..I work in a doctor’s office and fragrances are not allowed 😩

I did too lol. It’s a relatively soft projector on me after about an hour and then a skin scent at 4 hours so I can get away with it.
Lou Lou, ahhh my Lou Lou. (sighing in love). That was my first love since I was 10-11 years old. Such a special, unique scent. There's nothing like it. It was ahead of its time.... and YES, I have dared wearing it to the office. Luckily, it has been complemented.
Rush has been my jam. I found it around 2010 late to the game but i always keep a bottle on hand shes my bae.

I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and probably shouldn't wear the fragrances I do but idc I bought them I'm gonna wear them when I want. Most the time my residents tell me I smell good.

Agreed! Never wear perfume or heavy scented lotions to job interviews. Lou Lou is an instant headache inducer for me. Alien L’eau Extraordinaire is perfect for work.
LOL, Oud Bouquet, Angel and Rush are three of my go-tos.
My work scents; Boss days when I'm not seeing patients just going to meetings or talks, Cristalle de Chanel. Patient days when I'm doing the rounds or in clinic all day:Spanish eau de colognes (Alvarez Gomez or Nenuco), Eden by Cacharel or Bulgari Omnia Cristalline. Depressing days: I used to spray Clinique's Calyx (they've discontinued it!) because it was an instant mood lifter, I need an alternative!. Study days or days when I'm going to be seeing all the difficult cases, Fig and cassis by Jo Malone (sadly discontinued). Private Practice day, Chanel No5 L'eau...Nightshift: Cristalle. Shower after the nightshift: Shalimar. Going to bed after a nighshift, all clean and smelling of vanilla was heavenly.

To be honest I love only strong or at least moderate sillage fragrances and thus I own only them. So yes Alien, Kenzo Jungle L'elefant, Addict, Hypnotic Poison, Black Orchid, Terracotta Le Parfum etc. But I have got very dry skin and on me, it smells only in my personal zone (circa 20-30 centimeters). Usually, I receive compliments on Addict and Jungle L'elefant at work (as PT on Outpatient).
Thanks for a great video. LouLou is definitely a head-ache inducing fragrance for me, and while I love the Mugler frags, I cannot overspray. If I do want to wear a fragrance that I know

Hi Yana. Love the video . And yes you look lovely . I am offering a possible alternative lily scent for The One-- Cartier Baiser Vole is a lily based fragrance but not heady or overpowering . I think it might be safe for the workplace .

I wear fragrances from Byredo and Aerin to work. Very nice and not too overwhelming.
Back in the 90s mother used to work in a leather retail store and her co-worker used to wear a fragrance called Design by Paul Sebastian. This co-worker must've doused herself every morning with this fragrance because before you even walked into the store you could smell her perfume and it got worse once you were in the store. It was headache inducing, and this is coming from someone who has always loved and collected fragrances. You couldn't even smell the leather when she was working, and that's saying a lot.

While Alien is a fragrance with a presence, It is the only jasmine that to me has zero gag factor (some jasmines are so pungent). Anyway, I only ever wear it as a light fragranced gel at work, and I checked prior with my immediate colleagues if they were OK with it - and they were. 😁 Btw, awesome makeup, Yana!
Hehe I love your comments in this video! I'm going to miss working from home because I could wear anything I wanted to work that way! And Alien was my go-to scent, especially on Mondays! I always need that powerful pick me up on Mondays!
Hot take but I think any scent can work as an office scent if you don’t over spray and go light handed. I’d wear Olympea to my office job, but I’d just spray it maybe once on my neck and leave it. I also think Lancôme Idole Aura would be a good office replacement for Olympea. It’s not as sweet or vanillic.

I would use Gucci Rush for work i moderate amounts but I used Alien in winter as I work in big classrooms. However I smelled Olympea on people and even though I don't find it to be a heavy scent it gets sickly sweet as the day goes on.....

I remember a lady I worked with wore a fragrance that was entirely too strong and it left a scent trail everywhere she went. We worked with kids so it was beyond inappropriate. I like to keep it simple. A soft fragrance like Chloe or pure musc by narcisco.

OMG Poison is a big no no for work. I only use it outdoors...
Zara Rose Gourmand is not safe for workplace, it’s a beast! Also, many regular fragrances get overwhelming when oversprayed…😉

I am a nurse and have worked in almost every environment. I always wear perfumes, I only avoid really dark fragrances like tobacco, amber, cinnamon. Other than that I wear what I want & have never had complaints, only compliments.

i had a lung surgery with tubes and all in me....and all the nurses smelled clean...but there was this one....omg it almost killed me! i had to complain and i wear strong perfumes....just not in a lung ward! eek

Funny story: so at work the daughter of our Big Boss wears Angel. Like if she passes in the hallway and I pass there 5 minutes after you can still smell it and you know that she's been there. So on one side it's great because you can smell her coming before she's in the room, so we can stop talking shit. But on the other side she kind of ruined Angel for me, because now I associate it with her. I'm thinking about starting to wear Alien to work just to get my revenge :D

Made the mistake of buying Guerlain's Terracotta. Smells like a florist's van on the way to a Royal wedding. White flowers and nothing else. I kept hearing it was a summer beach-y scent. BULLSHIT. I'll be looking to trade/exchange it at first opportunity.

I was in a fragrance store to buy me a fragrance. Ended up in the women’s section and was testing every fragrance. Nothing was sexy enough for me. I was looking for something my girl could rock. Smelled Gucci rush. I made a whistle and the whole store was looking at me. This fragrance was so dripping sexy that I was getting wild thoughts immediately 🫢💦 It was so hot that I could not resist but buy it. Ladies listen, buy this fragrance for seduction, it’s not even fair for your competition. Should be named „Gucci 🔞“
