    Thanks a lot Cam for the inside work these guys do so well - now I finally have a solution to fixing fridge, drawers and cooker to the underfloor skeleton- I think I was over engineering the concept but I see how it can be done using those angled aluminium floor channels that also provide a lot of placement options - wonderful and simple 👍🏻 I’ll see if they sell these as well when I order the drawers - John in SA

    With your water filler with that attachment they welded on will make filling it with a regular hose difficult as you won’t be able to shove it in there and turn the tap on. I use the same fill points and noticed it with mine and ended up changing it

      Nah no insulation or vents. Temps are fine, I never turn the fridge off. There is bait in there frozen right now and we're having a week of days around 38 degrees. I think having white doors and a large solar panel on top helps (with the air gap its kind of like a tropical cover).

    Looks fantastic. What made you choose the fridge that you have?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 года назад

      Weight, convenience and capacity.
      For 26kgs we get 85l capacity including a small freezer.
      A 40l Engel on a drop slide is up around 50kgs for half the capacity.
      Upright fridges are also very convenient to get to your food- I guess that’s why we put them in our kitchens and not chest fridges!

    • @helenlunn5254
      @helenlunn5254 2 года назад

      As a shorter person I was thinking it would also be easier access, especially in a shopping centre and want to keep colds, cold, the drop down slide would require more space. And a freezer is a must for ice, for drinks when camping

    • @WildTouring

      It’s 2.5m 5005 ally. No dramas with sagging. One of them is loaded up with about 50kgs of tools and spares and after lots of bouncing and corrugations the drawers are still straight as when they were new 👍🏼

    Nice work and really functional. Cam would a 200ah lithium fit behind the draw set. Ive got Thunderfab doing a canopy for me now and would like to do the same set up as you had just with the 200ah.

      Not without changing the dimensions of the draws. Have a chat to Ken and Steve about what you want and I’m sure they’ll make it work 👍🏼

      They made it mate!
      They sent a drawing to a laser cutter and then welded it up.
      It’s bloody brilliant, the holes fit their clamps 🗜

      Your local auto sparky or 4x4 parts fitter may be able to help. Sorry I can’t be any more help than that- I’d normally fit this stuff myself.

    How are you finding all those locking tabs for the draws? I find them to be such a pain in the ass, having just normal slides with a center locking handle make the draws so much more user friendly

    Hey Cam have you seen 4WD SuperCentre have just released their Kings 85L upgright - specs looks identical to the Bushman at two thirds the price. I have two Bushman 85L and now feel like I have paid $1000 too much.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  3 года назад

      Yeah I’ve seen that. It does look to be the same. It’s a funny one because in one breath I’m annoyed that there’s brands out there ripping off unique design/r&d from Aussie companies like bushman’s, and then undercutting them. But having said that if I was buying one tomorrow I don’t know that I’d be prepared to pay $500 more for the Bushman….

      Hi,
      They are exactly the same fridge. I’m a fridge mechanic, it’s not uncommon for the same fridge to have a different brand put on it . They come out the same factory. I purchased the kings and saved $700 and got an extra 3 yrs warranty. Made if you don’t.

    What about the dog mate?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  3 года назад

      With another bub on the way theres not a lot of room on the back seat, but a dog box was never an option for us. So I'm going to make a bit of a platform between the rear seat and the centre console to give him a bit more room. Its not ideal having two baby seats and a dog in a dual cab - but we've got to work with what we've got.
