As someone that works in manufacturing i really appreciate your efforts in showing how much work is involved in making quality products. These guys allowing you to follow them through the process will pay off in spades for them.
What a great series. And what an awesome set up. The lads at Thunderfab have thought everything through for the end user. Eg something as simple as ease to swap out water pumps if needed. Just brilliant.

Great build Cam certainly an improvement on the old one I like the adjustability of everything Handy to add and remove items easily to suit your mission
Thanks a lot Cam for the inside work these guys do so well - now I finally have a solution to fixing fridge, drawers and cooker to the underfloor skeleton- I think I was over engineering the concept but I see how it can be done using those angled aluminium floor channels that also provide a lot of placement options - wonderful and simple 👍🏻 I’ll see if they sell these as well when I order the drawers - John in SA

That's a great bit of work there, well built.. The only thing I can see being a problem long term is that low hanging hose fitting under the compressor, can see that getting damaged some day.
@@WildTouring Hi, It’s not really related to GVM and more about the deficiencies of design of twin cabs when you have weight hanging out the back of the rear axle and you hit that unseen washout.
With your water filler with that attachment they welded on will make filling it with a regular hose difficult as you won’t be able to shove it in there and turn the tap on. I use the same fill points and noticed it with mine and ended up changing it

Norwelds cheapest dual cab canopy on a tray starts from $19141 and weight starts at 390kgs. Thunderfabs dual cab canopy chassis mounted starts at $17880 and weight starts at 229kgs.
Nah no insulation or vents. Temps are fine, I never turn the fridge off. There is bait in there frozen right now and we're having a week of days around 38 degrees. I think having white doors and a large solar panel on top helps (with the air gap its kind of like a tropical cover).
Looks good. Let us know how the stainless water tank goes. I know mdc used to use stainless but moved to poly as they all cracked after a few years from corrugations.
Weight, convenience and capacity. For 26kgs we get 85l capacity including a small freezer. A 40l Engel on a drop slide is up around 50kgs for half the capacity. Upright fridges are also very convenient to get to your food- I guess that’s why we put them in our kitchens and not chest fridges!
As a shorter person I was thinking it would also be easier access, especially in a shopping centre and want to keep colds, cold, the drop down slide would require more space. And a freezer is a must for ice, for drinks when camping

Great video Cam, much better than just the usual walk through , curious to know how thick the ally is in the bottom of the drawers, I assume it’s 3mm, no problems with any sagging mate?
It’s 2.5m 5005 ally. No dramas with sagging. One of them is loaded up with about 50kgs of tools and spares and after lots of bouncing and corrugations the drawers are still straight as when they were new 👍🏼
Nice work and really functional. Cam would a 200ah lithium fit behind the draw set. Ive got Thunderfab doing a canopy for me now and would like to do the same set up as you had just with the 200ah.
How are you finding all those locking tabs for the draws? I find them to be such a pain in the ass, having just normal slides with a center locking handle make the draws so much more user friendly
Hey Cam have you seen 4WD SuperCentre have just released their Kings 85L upgright - specs looks identical to the Bushman at two thirds the price. I have two Bushman 85L and now feel like I have paid $1000 too much.
Yeah I’ve seen that. It does look to be the same. It’s a funny one because in one breath I’m annoyed that there’s brands out there ripping off unique design/r&d from Aussie companies like bushman’s, and then undercutting them. But having said that if I was buying one tomorrow I don’t know that I’d be prepared to pay $500 more for the Bushman….
Hi, They are exactly the same fridge. I’m a fridge mechanic, it’s not uncommon for the same fridge to have a different brand put on it . They come out the same factory. I purchased the kings and saved $700 and got an extra 3 yrs warranty. Made if you don’t. Cheers Out There Touring
I see that the water is getting filled by what looks like the garden variety hose.......you will get a weird taste in the water...... Canopy and bits look great.
With another bub on the way theres not a lot of room on the back seat, but a dog box was never an option for us. So I'm going to make a bit of a platform between the rear seat and the centre console to give him a bit more room. Its not ideal having two baby seats and a dog in a dual cab - but we've got to work with what we've got.

Probably a good idea to reinforce the chassis behind the cab as to not risk bending like a banana.
Not a bad suggestion, definitely a risk with a dual cab. I'm not too concerned though, Its been on GVM for years without any issues.

Those flat pack fridge enclosures are gunna be a be seller i think, those upright fridges are selling like mad but are tricky to mount.

They've made me a little fitting that threads into the filler that a hose connects to. I forgot to show it in this video but ill show it a future vid!

They sent a drawing to a laser cutter and then welded it up.
It’s bloody brilliant, the holes fit their clamps 🗜

Your local auto sparky or 4x4 parts fitter may be able to help. Sorry I can’t be any more help than that- I’d normally fit this stuff myself.
