- In part 11 of the truck bed camping road trip, I'm on this amazing stream that definitely receives some fishing pressure but still fished great. I chose a section that wasn't super easy to get into and I believe it helped. Check out all the videos from this trip in the playlist linked below:

Drew, I’m so stoked! My wife and I drove past your truck out there on our own road trip this summer. I said to her, “I’m positive that’s LooknFishy’s setup”! Seeing this video is confirmation months later. Cheers, was a great day fishing!
Haha, that's pretty cool. Such a fun stream. Hope yall had fun too!
Another great video! Jake / Drew, are those all Westslope Cutts?... a few looked fine-spotted. Gary R, USAF-Retired
I am getting ready to fulltime RV and love your videos - been watching for about a year now. I'd like to vlog too. The simplicity of your videos and storytelling is masterful. A lot of my ideas are often already done by you, but my vision is still different. Thank you for showing the life!
You're the postcard for how to have a great time!
Coolest thing anyone has ever said to me!
Those stunning American rivers and sceneries…Oh my gosh…those nice cutties with those orange fins…I could stay watching these videos for hours on end if I hadn’t to get up early in the morning for work. Supreme joy of life living those marvellous fishing days.
no ugly fishing spots allowed. outstanding fishing too. thanks drew, I appreciate it.
That's very true!
This has been a great collection of trout fishing videos! Thanks for sharing them. Really enjoyed watching.
Happy to share the adventure!
Just started watching your videos. Appreciate the amazing scenery.
Many fly fishing guys talk way too much. You have a refreshing balance of dialogue allowing the viewers time to enjoy the natural surroundings and sounds.
Your productions are down to earth, relaxing and interesting 👍👍👍
Definitely appreciate the kind words!
Picture perfect stream and scenery. That river just begs to be fished. It's exactly the kind I like. Thanks for posting.
I definitely could not drive past wo fishing it...even with the traffic!
Amazing day again Drew, you really know how to find the spots. Kudos, enjoy the beer and fishing. Love the content.
Many thanks!
Drew, This place was wonderful! Everyone sitting at the computer and wishing we were there! Stay Safe buddy!
Same here!
Looked like a bomber day hooking them!!! You are so fortunate!!! And fantastic view to enjoy those suds!!! Thanks for sharing!!
I definitely am!
Celebrate the success, take it all in, relax, there's no better feeling. Enjoyed watching. 👍
Gotta take a minute every day and appreciate the adventure. I know I'm fortunate and never want to take anything for granted!
That stream is the fastest running one Ive seen you fish and you STILL killed it! Amazing stuff brotha!
It didn't look that fast from the top lol! Crossing was a bit adventurous!
I’ve fished that run. Called it “Lost Fly Box”because my buddy’s dad left a box I loaned him next to those tree stumps. We saw it later from high up on the road with a spotting scope, so my buddy scrambled down that bank in his crocs. Crazy SC Gamecock, go figure 😅
WOW what a beautiful site and stream! I could fish that everyday!
It was definitely a nice place for a quick trip!
I love fishing Wyoming, there are areas in the Wind River Wilderness where the fishing is incredible. I stopped telling people how many fish we catch and release. because the numbers were amazing.
continue to inspire Drew!!
Thank u kindly!
Great one with fantastic views!! Love it
That’s an amazing view and a beautiful creek. Great fish and another fantastic vid. Thank you again.
View was worth it all by itself!
Not only killing the hopper, but that dropper seemed to be on fire as well! Another amazing location!
Super fishing,thanks for posting,super.
Happy to do it, thx for watching!
Such a great stream. But it can completely kick your ass!
You’re inspiring me to step up my game. Great video.
Great looking stream there . Like to visit that one myself someday .
This one is easy to find and worth a stop!
I'm curious about your 4w 10ft rod, how do you like it? Would you recommend it? I was thinking of getting one for highsticking or using a light indicator with a nymp or small streamer
This video covers it. The rods are in the description ruclips.net/video/RS5mksxL190/видео.html
Drew,
A buddy and I are celebrating our retirements with a 2+ week car camping fly fishing trip to Southwestern Wyoming. Your videos are fantastic and have helped us with much of our planning. Any tips on how to close the sales job on our trip with the wives?!
We are going come he’ll or high water!
Haha...I think if yall are retiring...you've got the perfect sale already. Wish I knew how to recreate it for others...I'd sale the formula and make millions lol
Some fantastic water and great fishing! Good stuff! Tightlines
A great day for sure!
Nice to see some bigger water. Action packed.
I try to mix it up and see all the variety in an area! Helps me not get bored lol!
Hey Drew another great video and another great day of fishing for you. I know you never reveal your rivers or creeks and I totally appreciate that and understand it. I am just curious what western state you were in on this one. Tight lines
Talked about it in detail in part 5...the brook trout catch n cook. But I started in Wyoming then Idaho and ended in MT
Looked like an awesome day drew💪🍻🙋
That's a nice chair and beer spot right there.
Definitely the best part of the day!
The fat albert has become my favorite fly for hopper dropper setups. floats like a cork, easy to see, and the fish hammer it when they're in the mood for hoppers. It's also a pretty easy fly to tie.
Yep, exactly why I put it on. Figured it would float and big enought to bring fish up in the flow.
Those Snake River Cutts are beautiful!
They definitely were!
Nice fish and view btw!
That view made the day!
Nice spot by many measures, well, except for the trafiic, but there's no free lunch, right? Just got back from my annual month long Fall trout bum trip in CO where I fish til mother nature chases me away. It was a spectacular trip. Maybe one of these days I'll crank up the Cams, but for now they'll have to be memories I suppose. Keep em coming Drew. K
Hopefully one day I'll be able to stay out until the weather forces me home. But Nov is high school basketball season and I try to be at all my kids stuff!
You are missing some prime swinging opportunities man! That is a gorgeous river.
Thank u much!
Wow! So beautiful
Another great video Drew! I recently bought a new truck and want to do some fishing in the mountains out west next year. I was wondering what type of tires you are running and are you happy with them. Also, how is your hwy mileage. Thanks
These are factory 17" wrangler duratracs and I was very pleased with them. Held up to the rocks and had tons of grip on mud and climbing rocks. I'd be happy replacing them with the same tire at this point. I get 18ish city and 21ish hwy....great improvement over my v8 titan at 13/16
Where are you? I live in Idaho and that water looks familiar!
Superb! 🎣
All quality fish, well done.
Thank u muchas!
Superb video content 👍👍
Many thanks!
Beautiful! The road up that stream always has armadas of ATVs. How they can stand to spend all day eating dust is a mystery to me. What subsurface flies are you using?
It was insanely busy. Definitely the most people I saw on the trip!
Beautiful place and another awesome video. Do you ever fish spinners? Don’t remember you ever talking about them. I guess being in the middle of no where at dusk might put a damper on some of that.
I'm guessing you mean spinners on spinning gear and not a spinner fall. No, I don't anymore. I grew up on conventional gear and threw spinners, roostertails, spoons, soaked powerbait, threw Rapala's, countdown minnows and smithwicks until I was about 30. Then I saw a guy fly fishing on the little red and thought, I need to learn how to do that. Went and bought a starter kit from Cabela's and the addiction started.
@@LooknFishy no I did mean spinner fall. Never heard you talk about them in the flies that you use. A good spinner fall can be productive, if you don’t mind being out at dusk.
Gotcha. I do when I can fish near camp but definitely not hiking out in the dark lol. Plus, I can't film it bc of the low light. I also like to have dinner done and cleaned up before dark when I'm in bear country. Most days I'm asleep as soon as the sun sets lol!
Living the good life, Drew. Just go on 😉
And 90% on the nymph. That is why I almost always fish the double nymph nowadays.
Yea, I still nymph most of the time. Especially in Arkansas. But love the short dry/dropper window out west.
@@LooknFishy I certainly ubderstand. It ii fun
Awesome video.
Hey Drew, your intro raises a question of mine. Do you tend to favor spots where it appears you can work upstream, get out, and travel on land back to your vehicle? Or are most of your spots having to trudge back the way you came? Is that even a consideration when you make your plans?
No, I try to mix it up. I talked about it once in a past video (no idea which one lol) but I try to have a little of everything. Road side access is great for resting, charging batteries etc. I wish I could hike into remote streams everyday for 9 weeks but the wear and tear on the body becomes pretty obvious. So I plan a few streams with hiking trails, some without and a few with easy road side access. But generally not as busy as this one. When I feel the drain I head to an easy stream and recharge my own batteries!
@@LooknFishy Excellent thanks.
Drew,
Love your videos!!!!! A buddy of mine and I are retiring this year! We have a 2+ week car camping fly fishing trip planned to Southwestern Wyoming in June 2023. Your videos have been most helpful with our planning. Perhaps you can assist us with the sales job to your wife in planning your trip!
I always seem to get a lot of pixelated buffering when watching this channel. I have good bandwidth. Is it just me? Love the content though. Best out there.
More awesome stuff - big fan of cutty's after catching a bunch in Montana a few years ago! Weren't any as nice as a couple of these, though. Chunky specimens for sure.
It was definitely a good day and definitely a surprise!
I still think you should end every video like this one 🤣
are you in Wyoming or Idaho? they look like snake river cutts.
Still in Wyoming. The last part in the WY portion of the trip is part 14. These were snake river cutts.
Never fished that section of river. I always fish farther down river.
It wasn't terrible! I was mostly trying to get away from the road lol!
Never hurts to get away from the road. I usually just do day trips up there sense I live 15 minutes away.
I started having some issues with the GoPro overheating, especially after I rigged an external battery source on my hat so I can run it all day without stopping to change batteries. Have you found any solutions? I thought about putting reflective foil around it but not sure that would help.
My daughter is a artistic soul so I asked her to paint all. Of my go pros light grey and you wouldn’t imagine the success I have had not only over heating but also for some reason not as bad in the cold weather either
I just change it right away and cycle them as needed. I also tried to external battery and it went horrible...froze up all the time. Plus having it open really worried I dunk it when I do a release shot. The paint is a cool idea!
@@LooknFishy yeah you have to give up on dunking the camera because it will no longer be waterproof, but I decided the trade off is worth it for me. I just discovered you can get rubber “sleeves” for the camera like a soft case for a phone, and comes in white. I am going to try that out. I have a Hero 8 and the sleeve is $7.98 on ‘zon.
what stream is this? where?
So those were brownies? Great video!
Nah, finespot cutts!
Heaven to me is starting to look like august fly fishing in Wyoming 365 days a year
How awesome would that be!
@@LooknFishy I just moved to Northern Colorado last year. Been trying to get out as much as possible locally and up into Wyoming, but with 3 little kids it’s hard to really dive deep. And now the waiting game starts again until Spring! Time to start searching for new blue lines
The only thing that would have made that spot to have a cold one at better would have been me sitting there with ya talking about all the fish we caught. Just saying.
This is definitely a spot for fishing with friends!
Beer with a view! What’s your go to stream beer? 🍺
The best way to end a day. I don't have a preference. I just stop in and pick up anything that's local.
Do you use barbed or barbless hooks?
Barbless!
Comment, comment indeed.
Dude... You are killin' it!!! Were those all cutties?
Such a fun stream. Yep, all snake river or finespot cutts.
@@LooknFishy All beautiful fish! That's an amazing looking stream too.
