Stephen Chow has always been funny. My friend said Chow's funniest jokes are actually puns which 90% lost in translation. Too bad I can't appreciate that aspect since I don't speak Cantonese.
I watched a lot of hongkong movies when i was a kid, i understand cantonese. am i genius? Why other peoples watching all stephen chow's movies and others hongkong movies still can't understand cantonese language😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Yeah, it's very sad. I'm glad non-Cantonese speaking audiences got to witness and appreciate his genius with more universally appealing movies like "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer". In those movies, only 50% of the humor is also lost in translation! People enjoy those movies and I try my best to translate the jokes to my friends, but it's pretty much impossible since aside from not only wordplay and puns, a lot of it revolves around Hong Kong pop culture colloquialisms. He is just so good. I grew up with his movies and still go back to watch his 80s and 90s movies all the time. It's really the end of an era now that he's retired.
@@da1stlangzai nah Louis Koo is kinda second rate, I prefer Chapman Too, I know he's controversial on the political side but he brings his own comedy and is unique and actually funny. Wong Cho lam and Ronald Cheng sucks as comedians, lam overacts and he's not funny. Ronald Cheng looks super ugly but more importantly he copies Stephen Chow's comedy and he sucks at it. lam Fung is okay but nothing special. Donnie yen is good in his martial arts films, I'll say he's better than Jackie Chan. Pre 2000 is Jackie Chan after is Donnie Yen.

As an actor Louis is all round decent probably a si lai killer, personally I don't think he's that good. He's acting is Abit over rated. Donating to schools and stuff that just promoting yourself.
