Such a cool looking game, been thinking about this for ages. Took the plunge today and picked up the 2 player starter set plus two expansions for each army. Now I need some scenery. This set looks amazing.
Well I am really late to the show but I just bought the Hawk Games starter off ebay and the command cards for the Scourge and UNC, and are really excited to have them.
Meeko1010100112 The starter sets are not expensive at all. The models sold sepratly at 10mm are not cheap though. If you can do with just say 2 x starter armies and a few indivual blisters it's very acessable indeed.
AS I go through my exploring of the hobby and divorce from GW I gotta say this looks like a great game to pick up. Have you guys done a video going over each faction like you did with Deadzone?
If u got the players and fancy a divorce from GW , then good on you . GW still seem to entice folks with stunning new models and superbly formed terrain. This Game seems very basic and a ‘ less is more ‘ gaming experience. Well done Hawk Games !!
The UCM sabres where in a road at the end of the video, doesn't it gives them +2 to movement? that would have let them shoot at the anti air with impunity.
not at all this game is super cool I have played this game a lot and it great so much fun things. :D when u get to muiltplayer games it gets very slilly
I miss the no pre-measuring days of 40k. It added an extra skill to the game. There were some fuckers who destroyed it by basically saying "I'll move here...on second thoughts here...no actually here...." and used their move phase as a way of pre-measuring. Rather than fixing that in the rules they said 'fuck it, pre-measuring is now allowed' a real shame.
+Danthehorse infact, but what i was saying is that it doesnt compliment the miniatures, even more so on camera, the glossy finish on the terrain and the "flat" texture make them look worst and i wanted to see the detail better
+inhumanbookworm Wtf man that is literally 1/2 of the UCM strat, they're built to play like that due to their articulated special rule: they can shoot 1in above their actual guns. You can also land the dropship to use that as cover. Tl:dr If the dev says its okay, its okay
Its basic tactics in just about any wargame you can come across, to cover your units with other units. And in this particular case, Alexander is right, its part of the UCM´s strategy both in fluff and in game-play. I wonder what the generals of old would say to your statement, "damn dodgy Germans! He covered his tanks with his own tanks to gain the advantage! Ill never go to war against that general again:(".
Agreed. I was considering buying this game until I saw that AND that the Dropships themselves just hover about with their tanks for the entire game. Just so much silly cheese. With such a small-scale game (6 tanks and 2 piles of infantry each) there's no reason that the rules should not include facing; something which is fundamental to tank design and doctrine.

It's always fun to see a new game being played, even if it is not my cuppa. Nice video, lads.
Man, I miss wargaming 10 years ago. All those boxes in the background and the DZC glory days!
Looks like fun. I'm very impressed with the contents of the starter set.
Is it sad that I watched all 60 mins of this, and loved it all ?
The rolling for Initiative reminds me at AT-43, it had a similar system.
Ahhh sentimental times ^^°
great video and great match :) !! already planning a nice starter set and a couple of armies for next christmas ;) !!
Just an amazing game with excellent minis.
Really happy to see this on your channel!!!! DzC needs more exposure!
I love the way the terrain looks, you don't see intact cityscapes often enough. Reminds me of a Godzilla film before all hell breaks loose.
That city-scape is so legit. I have the big 3 0 coming up so i'm hoping to pull in some serious loot. This is on the list lol.
This looks awesome. Another one to add perhaps, if I can find someone to play it with. :)
The +2 move doesn't increase your move/fire stat, so if your Rapiers go faster than 4", they can't fire.
This looks pretty cool. I checked their website, and the minis are within my price range, and it's only 15$ for the rules. :-D

I feel like in all the time they spent setting up the terrain according to the book they could've just set up up however.
AS I go through my exploring of the hobby and divorce from GW I gotta say this looks like a great game to pick up. Have you guys done a video going over each faction like you did with Deadzone?
yeah I'm in that very same process right now. Their pricing is just insane and I unfortunately can't even afford a basic squad of intercessors now

@@pugsy7658 , some folks say it’s better and cheaper to get a 3D printer for your mini’s NO !!! It works out cheaper not to buy them lol
I wonder if they will build the Terrain? hehe love the video..planning on trying this
I have got this its awsome. I have finished the Scourge and am painting up the UCM army. I can not wait to start playing.
Hey the soldier cam is really cool love that Idea!!! Was wondering what the make and model was :P Regards
The UCM sabres where in a road at the end of the video, doesn't it gives them +2 to movement? that would have let them shoot at the anti air with impunity.
I thought you couldn't deploy infantry during the same turn an apc is deployed from the dropship. Or am i mistaken?
I cringed at the scotch tape getting put on those paper mats. Wouldn't have done that if you'd paid out of pocket for that!
I got my startersest yesterday.
What took you 24h????
this is the best game ever
How long before you post part 2
What about big pice of glass on gameboard ?
i love this game
why dont they have a tapemeasure each? :)
I thought scourge couldn't embark once deployed?
Do you mind if I put a link to this on BoardGameGeek.com? I like this game and it needs more exposure.
You can, look at Hawkwargames RUclips tutorials on the game
where is the rest?
Anyone want to ship me a starter set? Can do a painting/play set of vids
2025 soon. DZC still going strong
Yet in real life I never heard it'd tasks moving side on to stop fire at the others pity, as I like the models.
u guys realy should give Freebooters Fate a try, its an awesome funny Game!
not at all this game is super cool I have played this game a lot and it great so much fun things. :D when u get to muiltplayer games it gets very slilly
Or Dust Warfare!
No pre-measuring? Wtf.
Welcome to old-school wargaming.
Mark Joergensen Yea, I started Warmachine and it adds an entirely different feel to the game.
I miss the no pre-measuring days of 40k. It added an extra skill to the game. There were some fuckers who destroyed it by basically saying "I'll move here...on second thoughts here...no actually here...." and used their move phase as a way of pre-measuring. I feel like the "cheap" terrain and the lots of grey makes the miniatures look bad and doesnt show the grate details
Hawk produce amazing miniatures, check out our most recent videos for them :)
For the price its good to get any terrain! Nice set indeed.
+Danthehorse infact, but what i was saying is that it doesnt compliment the miniatures, even more so on camera, the glossy finish on the terrain and the "flat" texture make them look worst and i wanted to see the detail better
Sure the cardborad tgerrain is not the main thingh of the starterset but one do need terrain so it's good it comes with the box.
Putting tank sideways to cover two other tanks is the most doggy move I have ever seen. I wouldn't play with someone who does that.
+inhumanbookworm Wtf man that is literally 1/2 of the UCM strat, they're built to play like that due to their articulated special rule: they can shoot 1in above their actual guns. You can also land the dropship to use that as cover.

No matter what the dev says it's still dodgy

No tank would ever sit side-on to the enemy - unless it was immediately abandoned.
