I love how attentive Oscar is while you’re describing the contents of this kit. He’s so cute! 🐶
that hug at the end was epic 😂😂
Lol I love the throwback to Bastian (the hungry terrier who just has more ways to say "food" now lol)
He knows hugs already 🤗
Oscar is very handsome and intelligent already- looking forward to his adventure!
Wish this was around when my senior dog was young he speaks says, I want one and I love you
Oscar is so chill 😎
Excellent video! This is awesome. Also, you and your dog are adorable. 🥰 Thanks so much for the quality content!
Oscar is just toooo cute
Was not expecting 5:05 where your boy’s just chilling on your shoulders. XD Adorable!
Appreciate this out of the box review, wow $80 for six buttons! These look like the ones Billi speaks uses for her cat. You do need to include the reference to Hunger for words, Christina Hunger’s book “How Stella Learned to Talk” book is instrumental in understanding the Language development aspect of this training and doing the “priming” by first speaking in two word then three word sentences consistently. There is a little more to it then just buying buttons, learn from those who have done it successfully and also their mistakes and evolved to best practices, even some good examples of which words to use with your dog or cat. I don’t have the buttons yet but I found the preliminary work on word choice in the past few months I’m doing with my cats is very helpful. In applying the verbal concepts I’ve already seen improvement in my communication with my cats!
My son has developed a software to interface with a game Board so we will be going that route for the buttons in future (at the prototype stage) and also those are small buttons with lights and correct colors ( blue, lime green, white) animals see clearly, which maybe is not necessary but should be helpful in the early learning stages. He has an Italian greyhound and I’ve got cats, both have paws about 1 “ .
These buttons do look better than some of the single ones available on Amazon.
One final comment for those who think it’s not necessary and it’s not necessary for most everyday interchanges, but the animals do communicate some surprises…see Billispeaks video on her music for example… we humans don’t always understand our pets as well as we might think, so the buttons do add a whole new level of communication!
thanks for doing this great informative video! My dog Gizmo is a long hair chihuahua and he's just about 8 pounds. Do you think he would be strong enough to push the Fluent Pet buttons? I just ordered the Learning Resources buttons on Amazon to try out but they might be a little too big for my little guy 😬🐶😻
That’s awesome! So the fluent buttons may be a better as they are smaller and easier to push for a smaller dog. They are pricier though. Good luck!
@@UnBoxitwithOscar thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to get back to Gizmo and me! Have a great rest of your day 😻
I had a chihuahua named Gizmo, too!
@@gryl7471 such a great name for a chihuahua 🥰🐶
Blessed to see your dog has good nares. Any trouble breathing? Does he snore? Is it kinda quiet? My white Boxer barely made any noise at all.
I have a blue Merle chihuahua named Oscar. He needs help! LOL still a puppy. Great way to train!
Hi Im looking at smaller buttons for my dog as the ones I have are bit big. How do you find the batteriy life in these & are they clear? Thanks I appreciate your opinion on these.
Oscar is so cute~!
Thank you for sharing this. It is pretty awesome.
Awesome thanks 😊
Anybody else already talks to their dog and already knows what your doggo wants kinda from just living with them??
Its kool tho ..Animals are highly intelligent I like moving with them on connection and instincts ..
Yes. An interesting experiment is to spend the day and do not talk to your dog. They know when it is time to eat. When you are getting ready to take them for a walk. The purpose of you letting them in the backyard.
Talking is not critical.
My dog taps and holds the buttons which unrecords them. But I dont have fluent pet. Will these buttons do the same?
Great video ) subbed :) The buttons were VERY small and i think they looked quit "cheap".. How was the quality after using them for a while ?
Just opened my starter kit. If Chloe (cat) will actually work with this scheme, I'll be thrilled, but oh my GOD what a hassle to assemble! I couldn't even open the little button boxes without tearing them open - you made it look so easy. Punching out the button holes from the hex tiles is a bitch - why isn't the backing scored? I won't go into all the issues, but when I had two (2) buttons in two (2) tiles, I was worn out and stopped. Put one, "Garage" (which has the beach picture) by the door because she likes to roam around out there, and the other by the counter where she gets her "Catnip." (She's not a catnip maniac so I think it'll be okay.) She seemed really interested in the tiles and immediately began to sharpen her claws on them. Hmmm.
oh my goodness. My dog is a 6 months old poodle and even tho is is very smart and already knows a lot of tricks and commands he chews. Anything. So that is what he did. He picked up the pad, took it to his pen ( which we leave open for him) and and start chewing on it. Sigh , more work to do....
Great informative video. I'm curious about Oscar's progress... Is there any?
Just let Oscar open the cardboard box they love doing that lol I rather let them
I ended up making a button for treat because my girl acted oblivious to the buttons. Even with food and treat, she ignored them. She already communicates really well so I’m guessing she just didn’t see the point. After a month, she only hit “outside” once, by accident. I gave up.
Buh'ins. Lol
What about changing the batteries?
My dog uses the outside button and she gets excited when I press the play button. I want to get more buttons, but they are very expensive.
Maybe you could build your own? It's basically just a sound recorder with a play button. Something like an Arduino micro computer could be attached to some buttons and a sound player. Take some setting up, but probably cheaper than getting a dozen of these buttons.
Did it work
Now humans need to progress by opening pet schools from nursery upto graduate .....along with pass marks , good, excellent , distinctions etc including promotions into the higher classes too. N certificates too. Then owners will be relieved by sending their pet children to the school when they r going for job duty , n will be home with a happy chappy pet sons n daughters.
$ 80 😦

How to make my pet press it?
Read How Stella Learned to talk” by Christina Hunger. Might be available at your library. She does this training for kids with learning disabilities and she pioneered the use of buttons on her dog Stella. Her book describes the process and how important your “priming” your pet verbally is important, before you start the buttons. I learned so much from her book just on that, because of her expertise with children it was different than I expected! I was also amazed at how we think we know what they want and there are surprises they communicate with buttons!
When did we start dropping our Ts in the middle of words? It's buttons, not bu'ons.
bought a set for my sister - sister wash dishes ..... f off bro .. sister bad .
People are really jumping the gun on this Fluent Pet thing. The scientific research into it has barely even begun, and y'all are manufacturing buttons and buying them as if you have any idea what is really going on in those Bunny videos.
This is just a review so people know more before they buy.
it's literally just some plastic buttons that mimic your voice. If it works on some pets, why wouldn't people want to try with their own ? It's not hurting anyone or putting the dogs life @ risk so why should it matter scientific research or not ?
I don’t think ppl are jumping the gun at all. I luv what this guy is doing with his dog Oscar. Really cool!
Apparently it's been working with a cat. Billi has a large number of buttons so far
