this song is exceptional from the numerous reasons:
    1. quickly goes in the ear
    2. the extraordinary connection of the old fashion with modern versions of the music
    3. the remarkable connection between the singr's and their exceptional pronunciation
    4. in addition, but are still in the world, people who have such music I like, I like the menu
each honor for the choice of this song

I'm addicted to this song already, most people hate it because they're so negative especially towards the UK! Will do better
    than most think.

ColchesterUnited2014 No, it's because the song is not very good and the British public would never have chosen it.

I'm from Australia, so if anything we would be most inclined to vote for the UK, but it would be disrespectful to vote for a song like this, when there are so many better songs, like Malta, Slovenia, and Latvia. You definitely can't blame bloc voting this year, it is definitely the song that will result in the UK being at the bottom. What a let down!

I'm from the UK and while I don't hate it, it's not good. There's so much more they could have done with the concept, but they didn't. It's super repetitive with very little variation. The first minute and 18 seconds is fine, but then it gets really monotonous.

In the 60th anniversary with Australia competing the UK are going to be laughed at like every other year and then blame block voting ignoring the fact their song sounds like an abortion.

I think this is too sophisticated for the European song contest, it reminded me of the Squirrel Nut Zippers and was such a change from usual sequenced stuff we get dished up all the time. It actually sounded like the instruments were being played by people.

elisabeth Haraldsson Plus with the staging from the rehearsal today and a few minor tweaks to camera angles the staging will be near-perfect, if they can sing it as well as they have been recently and everything goes to plan the UK should place at least on the left hand side of the scoreboard.

If they can make it sound this good on the night we must be in with a chance of scoring something. I love it. It's certainly cheesy enough. Think it really boils down to how many countries the UK have upset this year as usual. It kind of reminds me of "I can't decide" by The Scissor Sisters.

I don't know if I'm falling into a British carefully designed prank, but I love this song. Sorry, guys. And I'm not saying you don't have better voices out there (someone mentioned Adele, and yes, maybe I'd prefer to hear her on Eurovision too) but this is a fun song, and I would never have heard it if not for it going on Eurovision. Some people have left rude comments which says something about their characters. Taste is not a science and cannot be measured. Some like this song and some don't.
What I like about this song is that the lyrics rhyme unlike most of the entries which sound like washing machines instruction book. The style is also classy although it may not be appreciated by everyone. It should do better than most people think.

  • @PeteWylieRC

I'm a secret Eurovision fan but we are never going to win it these days unless a miracle happens so we might as well have fun. Was I the only one who liked Scooch 'Flying the Flag' with it's smutty double entendres ? Probably. Don't think that the contest ever produces the best song in the whole of Europe but it's a good evening in front of the telly with amusing commentary by Graham Norton. Anyway I think this is a catchy track and different to the endless power ballads. Should be entertaining on the night.

lewis wells Look. The song is catchy and how many songs in recent times can you recall by Britain in the Euro Comp? None. Even Lord Andy's boring song was boring.
My point is that I knew Buck's Fizz would win it in 1981 not because I really liked it but I knew it was the type of song which would appeal all over Europe. The same with Brotherhood of Man and Sandy Shaw. All catchy.
Sandy Shaw 's song was out when Britain had the most best groups in the world and Buck's Fizz was out when Indie/New wave/New Romantics were making a mark.
Catchy- that's what this comp is about and what this song delivers.
Well put it this way, it's more catchy than that eastern European bag o' shite.

It's really not bad at all and it's definitely caught the spirit of what Eurovision really is. It's a light hearted catchy and (slightly) camp toe tapper that I think will do quite well.
I know some people bemoan that there was no public vote this year but has anyone seen the garbage that wins the x-factor? And of course we all remember Scooch (cringe) and Jemini (Oh God) that WERE chosen by the great British public.
But in all truth does anyone in the UK really, REALLY think Eurovision is important in musical terms? It's not, it's just a fun show where we get to see some music ranging from the absolutely classic (Johnny Logan and Lordi springs to mind here) through the bizarre to the woeful (Yes Jedward I'm looking at you and Jemini too) with some occasionally brilliantly funny (LTD United "We are the winners" was one) songs.
Seriously, come Saturday night I'll be kicking off my shoes, opening a cold one and enjoying the show and it's one of the few that all three generations of my living family still watch together. Even my eighteen year old son thinks it's a great laugh.

All these negative comments are getting boring, very much like UK's recent years entries. This is catchy, upbeat and different, and if I remember correctly these kind of tunes pick up good points, probably not win but still do well. I'm in the UK and would be proud to get top 10, if we win that would be fantastic. Stop slating your own song and get behind your country!!! Remember, the only opinions that really matters is other nations, we can't vote for ourselves.

I think our biggest asset is also our biggest problem - few would argue that Britain has lead the world with it's popular music influence so sometimes we are held to a much higher standard than any other country and when we fail to reach those impossibly high standards we are unfairly reprimanded for producing something average, something other countries do it all the time but with no such reprimand. No this isn't Pink Floyd, it isn't Adele or the Beatles, it isn't Coldplay or Queen or, David Bowie, Elton John or Led Zeppelin but it's a bold catchy song completely unique in Eurovision terms and they deserve to place quite highly. Good luck to them.

It's a freakshow and no self-respecting artist would ever dream of building their career off the back of this psuedo-political showdown. So all we're left with is the dregs of the UK music scene and those who get the represent us in Eurovision are just the best of a bad bunch.

Why do people hate this song? Is it because it doesn't talk about fucking women? or doing drugs? or being gangsta? or it's not pop or rock or whatever?Or it because it's different? It's Electro-Swing, the lyrics are similar to the type of lyrics used in traditional Swing. I think it's a good song, because I like both Electro and Swing, and I like the beat.
