Yeah we are chopping of the corn on a sand knob. Shorter corn but the adjuster said its 170 bushel corn. Nice big cobs on it! Should make some fat beefers!
Man he's flyin right along! I didn't know u got govisions?? If u just look straight ahead. My biggest thing to get used to with them is to move ur head not just move ur eyes when looking at something
Yeah I have had them a while. My problem is moving my head too much! And its like like need to lift my head more while recording with them. I prefer my sony cam but its hard to drive and hold a camera at the same time.
At one point we hit 10 mph. But it would pull the stalks out of the ground. Most of the time around 7 mph. A 6 row head would be nice. But if we can get enough business he said he will get a Claas. The New Holland is just to get us started
I dont think a 980 is in the near future! That would be a hard payment to make! We found a nice 880 with a 6 row and hay head for around 40K. Its only a 6 cylinder machine but it has a processor and will walk circles around the NH.
+Fred Richards well, if I had a use I'd be interested in it! This chopper is on a consignment lot for sale. The Claas 980 twin gets to do all the chopping these days!
Its my buddies equipment, I just help him out. He has made me a offer to buy in and if we can get enough business we will buy a Claas chopper and maybe another truck
We have new holland 2115 with a horning processor and a ru/ ri 450 rotary head. 15 years and still going today, recently updated to a fx 60
That should be a nice upgrade!
Seems like that corn was kind of short, was it pretty dry where you were chopping?

+larsonvalleyfarm yes it took me several months to get used to them and I still have to think about what I'm wanting to film too
Yeah a six row head would be a better fit for that chopper!! More capacity on a four row an slower speed would really help out!!
Is it would!
How fast were you running? It's no claas but yeller banana is holding her own, mabey a 6 row would make her bark lol

We have a 6 row head off of our fx 60 that we don't use. It's in good shape

Are you part owner of the company or just work there?

Yes 4 rows. It really needs a 6 row head
