Please consider doing a cooking collaboration with ‘Carmen the Maltese’ it would be hilarious having her watch and comment and critique your Englishman in Malta version of the traditional dishes you cook. You would get heaps of coverage and loads of new subscribers worldwide from the exposure you would get! Many of the comments from your Maltese viewers would be reflected in her Maltese mannerisms and would be insanely funny!

You should keep going! I like your channel. If you are bored with the content, look into the archeology in Malta. I worked in Malta and Libya for years and never took the time visit the amazing sites that exist in Malta. After Libya blew up, I came back to the U.S. and learned of all of the amazing things in Malta I never took the time to investigate. Sometimes, great content is right in front of us, but we are blind to it because we see it every day. Keep up the good work. I hope your leg gets better! If you need further medical advice, St. Phillips hospital is good. Dr. Portelli is one of the owners and was my surgeon. He did a good job removing my appendix after it burst on a British Airways flight from heathrow to Tripoli. I talked the crew into making an emergency landing in Malta due to the poor medical conditions in Libya. Dr. Portelli had an ambulance meet me at the airport and took me to the hospital. Cheers.
Steve, Nice to hear that you are on the mend and please don't give up doing what you obviously enjoy doing. My wife and I have watched your channel for the past 5 years and never found them boring. We first visited Malta in 1999 and stayed there every year right up to when they demolished the Fortina Hotel in 2018. Sadly that put us off returning due to the attitude of the 'Zammit-Tabona's, owners of the Hotel who openly said they wanted rid of the 'Brits' and to take the island more upmarket by bringing in a more affluent class of people, that coupled with a rise in the numbers of Putin's mates (loud, obnoxious and self-entitled people) put and end to us returning. You Video's have enable us to have a 'Virtual' tour of Malta and see how it has changed each year and we are now considering returning next year.
Sadly I have seen that alot and heard it from a friend of mine in thailand which is over run with russians, many hotels in Malta are in a made rush to put up 5 star deluxe hotels, malta has turned partly into a money grabbing island, drop me alone if you are over would be nice to hear your storyline

It seems like you just need a rest, give yourself a break and you'll may find that after a while you'll be inspired to get back to making the videos for the reasons that you started them in the first place.

You are a genuine person that has brought to me a feeling for Malta and how you live there. I wish my health would allow me to return soon. I have revisited Malta only once for 3 weeks in 2016 since I came to Australia as a child. As for your health I wish you the best . Like you I had rarely been in hospitals until my mid 60s since then dozens of times in hospitals, I am 73 now. Get better soon Steve. Try not to be too critical as the quality of your videos coupled with your genuine personality makes them always a brilliant watch. I watch a lot of channels when I have time on a variety of topics and yours is up there for sure. I guess subscribers have lots going on in their lives too, so to a certain degree your audience ebbs and flows for that reason. I will always keep watching as long as you produce them and when over there often visited places that you've showcased over the years such as the walk from Marsacala via St Thomas Bay to Marsaxlokk. Also that one in that rural area inland from St Julians where when I did it the heavans suddenly opened and the roads turned into a small boating lake. I haven't watched in a few weeks as my timeshare which was leased within the Intercontinental Hotel (by another company) has announced is coming to an end later this year, so been feeling very sad about that as visited the island every year for many years. However am determined to still come back and visit the island regularly but stay elsewhere instead. I rermember you walking about Sliema with your mask on at the height of the pandemic. It brought in the sunshine in whilst in lockdown in the UK. So whatever you choose to do with the channel whether it's only a few a year I will still always watch so hope you don't give up. I was blown away by finding the war memorial at argotti botanic gardens showing Australian soldiers were buried in Malta , so far away from home,never to return in the war time! So sad. Hi Steve, get better soon! Keep your right leg elevated on the sofa so that it does not swell up; that is the reason you are feeling tightness in the leg. And until the wound heals and the stitches are out you should only walk short distances. Skin cancer when caught early is curable; it commonly affects people with fair skin when constantly exposed to sunlight. So, Cover up!!

Glad your leg is healing and that the cancer is benign. The pulling you are feeling is probably the stitches. I had something fairly large removed years ago, an eye shaped piece of skin removed (and they can also remove tissue inside). After they just stitched the edges together and, for a long time, I had a sort of dent in my upper arm. Later, the skin stretched and the scar looked smaller. But that "pulling" was an irritant for a long while. You'll see when you take the bandage off; it's kind of fascinating to watch it heal and the scar will give you a good story. I was asked so much about my scar that I started to laughingly tell people I was in a knife fight in New Orleans, lol. Stay well, please. Btw, life happened to me and I stopped watching anything for a while. But, I'm back and will be watching your videos again, if you decide to continue. I respect whatever decision you make. But, if not, will you be able to leave your videos up? I would like to re-watch them. I enjoy your sense of humor and love seeing Malta with you. Thank you for all of that, Steve.
I miss Malta soooo much and the most depressing thing is leaving and looking back at this beautiful island as it drifts away through the airplane window 😒 Back to red brick land Liverpool, socks, carpets and rain. Good to see you so positive in difficult times. For me, what makes a good You-Tube video is audience engagement. This you generally do very well, the only exception being during live streams where you often break-off mid-sentence to respond to comments as they pop-up, leaving those of us who prefer just to watch feeling somewhat undermined. This aside, your videos are always interesting, informative and engaging. Good luck, whatever you decide.

I had the same operation on my leg/shin twice for Basel Cell .The pulling and tightening is the stitches and healing , I had the same feeling in my leg and it went after the stitches were removed ,, perfectly normal .Best regards

I've known Malta, and more specifically Gozo since 1976, although I've not been back since 2008. As a regular I've really enjoyed your videos but in answer to your question I don't know the answer. However, maybe you could find a thread to run through the videos. Something like historical details and changes, local people and their views or local cuisine just something that captures the essence of the islands. Look after yourself and know that many enjoy your weekly videos.

I can tell you, You are great. I undestend the strugle behind the making of the videos, and I guess if it is not fun for You it will not be fun for us. But I still hope You will continue. The scucess on RUclips? Is it realy important? Your appeal is in the niche contents you are offering us. Doing Your thing will maybe not atract many folovers/likest/tumbs but as long as You enjoj it is not that important.On the other hand, not many people would hike in a place where nobady can see and admire them. Thank you for the work you've done with these videos. I first found your videos during the COVID lockdowns, and my parents and I would watch as soon as they would come on. My parents left Malta in the 50's when they were young, and my mother would say that she's seen more of Malta on your videos than when she lived there. Whatever you decide to do, I just want you to know that we appreciate what you've done.
Hey Steve hope the surgery heals quickly and you dont have to return for them to have another go at it. One of the reasons it fells like its pulling is that they may have had to cut deep to get to the tentacle like roots that are deep and they may have put a few internal stitches to draw the wound together and then put the majority of the stitches over the top to close it. As I said before I have had many of these cut out from my arms, legs, back and head etc and some have been very deep incisions. Dont put to much strain on your leg as the stitches my stretch and that will leave you with a bad looking scar. Anyway keep going with your great channel mate because there are a lot of us that really appreciate what you do, dont get disheartened by the people that want to criticize you its easier if you give them the flick off your channel. As for your thinking about quitting quitting u tube l ask you to think it over. Think about those thousands that follow your videos.l am sure they will be very disappointed. Yes, the wound feels very strange as it knits back together. I had major suffers a couple of years back and had it in my head, the wound had been stapled. I could even feels them pinching. After three weeks I checked in with the nurse to have them removed and it turned out the incision had been glued! 😩

Alex in Malta has a lot of subscribers as he covers many current issues which interests young people relocating to Malta etc. He also has a hip lifestyle that appeals to the younger audience. You appeal to a different demographic so don’t worry about figures .
Hope your legs heals well Steve, it's just a matter of letting it improve at its own pace. As for the videos, you have to enjoy what you are doing, if it's a slog or chore then, and you don't need the hassle then take a rest and see how it goes. I have noticed that popular videos tend to be shorter 8-10 minutes, so it might be worth looking at that . Whatever you decide to do, rest assured that there are a lot of "sensible" people who have enjoyed them. :)

It is quite understandable that you feel a bit down at the moment especially if you haven't experienced the hospital environment as an 'adult patient' before. Just rest your leg for a few more days and elevate it when sitting down. Take it easy for a while.

You should keep going! I like your channel. If you are bored with the content, look into the archeology in Malta. I worked in Malta and Libya for years and never took the time visit the amazing sites that exist in Malta. After Libya blew up, I came back to the U.S. and learned of all of the amazing things in Malta I never took the time to investigate. Sometimes, great content is right in front of us, but we are blind to it because we see it every day. Keep up the good work. I hope your leg gets better! If you need further medical advice, St. Phillips hospital is good. Dr. Portelli is one of the owners and was my surgeon. He did a good job removing my appendix after it burst on a British Airways flight from heathrow to Tripoli. I talked the crew into making an emergency landing in Malta due to the poor medical conditions in Libya. Dr. Portelli had an ambulance meet me at the airport and took me to the hospital. Cheers.
Steve, Nice to hear that you are on the mend and please don't give up doing what you obviously enjoy doing. My wife and I have watched your channel for the past 5 years and never found them boring. We first visited Malta in 1999 and stayed there every year right up to when they demolished the Fortina Hotel in 2018. Sadly that put us off returning due to the attitude of the 'Zammit-Tabona's, owners of the Hotel who openly said they wanted rid of the 'Brits' and to take the island more upmarket by bringing in a more affluent class of people, that coupled with a rise in the numbers of Putin's mates (loud, obnoxious and self-entitled people) put and end to us returning. You Video's have enable us to have a 'Virtual' tour of Malta and see how it has changed each year and we are now considering returning next year.
Sadly I have seen that alot and heard it from a friend of mine in thailand which is over run with russians, many hotels in Malta are in a made rush to put up 5 star deluxe hotels, malta has turned partly into a money grabbing island, drop me alone if you are over would be nice to hear your storyline

You are a genuine person that has brought to me a feeling for Malta and how you live there. I wish my health would allow me to return soon. I have revisited Malta only once for 3 weeks in 2016 since I came to Australia as a child. As for your health I wish you the best . Like you I had rarely been in hospitals until my mid 60s since then dozens of times in hospitals, I am 73 now. Get better soon Steve. Try not to be too critical as the quality of your videos coupled with your genuine personality makes them always a brilliant watch. I watch a lot of channels when I have time on a variety of topics and yours is up there for sure. I guess subscribers have lots going on in their lives too, so to a certain degree your audience ebbs and flows for that reason. I will always keep watching as long as you produce them and when over there often visited places that you've showcased over the years such as the walk from Marsacala via St Thomas Bay to Marsaxlokk. Also that one in that rural area inland from St Julians where when I did it the heavans suddenly opened and the roads turned into a small boating lake.
I haven't watched in a few weeks as my timeshare which was leased within the Intercontinental Hotel (by another company) has announced is coming to an end later this year, so been feeling very sad about that as visited the island every year for many years. However am determined to still come back and visit the island regularly but stay elsewhere instead. I rermember you walking about Sliema with your mask on at the height of the pandemic. It brought in the sunshine in whilst in lockdown in the UK. So whatever you choose to do with the channel whether it's only a few a year I will still always watch so hope you don't give up. I was blown away by finding the war memorial at argotti botanic gardens showing Australian soldiers were buried in Malta , so far away from home,never to return in the war time! So sad.

Hi Steve, get better soon! Keep your right leg elevated on the sofa so that it does not swell up; that is the reason you are feeling tightness in the leg. And until the wound heals and the stitches are out you should only walk short distances. Skin cancer when caught early is curable; it commonly affects people with fair skin when constantly exposed to sunlight. So, Cover up!!

It seems that we have to cheer up our Steve a bit as he sounds a bit down the dumps at the moment. Like you, during Covid I always looked forward to Steve's vlogs to cheer myself up. Glad your leg is healing and that the cancer is benign. The pulling you are feeling is probably the stitches. I had something fairly large removed years ago, an eye shaped piece of skin removed (and they can also remove tissue inside). After they just stitched the edges together and, for a long time, I had a sort of dent in my upper arm. Later, the skin stretched and the scar looked smaller. But that "pulling" was an irritant for a long while. You'll see when you take the bandage off; it's kind of fascinating to watch it heal and the scar will give you a good story. I was asked so much about my scar that I started to laughingly tell people I was in a knife fight in New Orleans, lol. Stay well, please. Btw, life happened to me and I stopped watching anything for a while. But, I'm back and will be watching your videos again, if you decide to continue. I respect whatever decision you make. But, if not, will you be able to leave your videos up? I would like to re-watch them. I enjoy your sense of humor and love seeing Malta with you. Thank you for all of that, Steve.

Good to see you so positive in difficult times. For me, what makes a good You-Tube video is audience engagement. This you generally do very well, the only exception being during live streams where you often break-off mid-sentence to respond to comments as they pop-up, leaving those of us who prefer just to watch feeling somewhat undermined. This aside, your videos are always interesting, informative and engaging. Good luck, whatever you decide.

I would say that is not Steve so much but in general being Live video and making sure the broadcaster(Steve) accommodates enough viewing folk who are chatting in the stream.
Also, there could be someone in chat saying, Steve, is not reading chat enough! For me it is part n' parcel of Independent Live Streaming

I had the same operation on my leg/shin twice for Basel Cell .The pulling and tightening is the stitches and healing , I had the same feeling in my leg and it went after the stitches were removed ,, perfectly normal .Best regards

I've known Malta, and more specifically Gozo since 1976, although I've not been back since 2008. As a regular I've really enjoyed your videos but in answer to your question I don't know the answer. However, maybe you could find a thread to run through the videos. Something like historical details and changes, local people and their views or local cuisine just something that captures the essence of the islands. Look after yourself and know that many enjoy your weekly videos.

I can tell you, You are great. I undestend the strugle behind the making of the videos, and I guess if it is not fun for You it will not be fun for us. But I still hope You will continue.
The scucess on RUclips? Is it realy important? Your appeal is in the niche contents you are offering us. Doing Your thing will maybe not atract many folovers/likest/tumbs but as long as You enjoj it is not that important.On the other hand, not many people would hike in a place where nobady can see and admire them.

Thank you for the work you've done with these videos. I first found your videos during the COVID lockdowns, and my parents and I would watch as soon as they would come on. My parents left Malta in the 50's when they were young, and my mother would say that she's seen more of Malta on your videos than when she lived there. Whatever you decide to do, I just want you to know that we appreciate what you've done.

Hey Steve hope the surgery heals quickly and you dont have to return for them to have another go at it. One of the reasons it fells like its pulling is that they may have had to cut deep to get to the tentacle like roots that are deep and they may have put a few internal stitches to draw the wound together and then put the majority of the stitches over the top to close it. As I said before I have had many of these cut out from my arms, legs, back and head etc and some have been very deep incisions. Dont put to much strain on your leg as the stitches my stretch and that will leave you with a bad looking scar. Anyway keep going with your great channel mate because there are a lot of us that really appreciate what you do, dont get disheartened by the people that want to criticize you its easier if you give them the flick off your channel. Yes, the wound feels very strange as it knits back together. I had major suffers a couple of years back and had it in my head, the wound had been stapled. I could even feels them pinching. After three weeks I checked in with the nurse to have them removed and it turned out the incision had been glued! 😩

@@EnglishmaninMalta Just do what you like when you like. Alex in Malta has a lot of subscribers as he covers many current issues which interests young people relocating to Malta etc. He also has a hip lifestyle that appeals to the younger audience.
You appeal to a different demographic so don’t worry about figures .

Hope your legs heals well Steve, it's just a matter of letting it improve at its own pace. As for the videos, you have to enjoy what you are doing, if it's a slog or chore then, and you don't need the hassle then take a rest and see how it goes. I have noticed that popular videos tend to be shorter 8-10 minutes, so it might be worth looking at that . Whatever you decide to do, rest assured that there are a lot of "sensible" people who have enjoyed them. :)
could be as you say, videos of short length get views but RUclips are promoting videos more over 40 mins ..so who knows what to do ??
