Really enjoyed the thorough investigation here! I can't say I'm pleased with the new size - but I wonder if the hole in the center MIGHT be intentional. Because they are quite tall and are designed to work in mini warmers, I was afraid that they would soak up one mini warmer well, but then overflow the mini warmer when you go to soak up a second one (which you would certainly WANT to do to get your moneys worth with these). The center gap might allow the wax to travel further up inside rather than overflowing on the outside. That's a theory, I'm not sure. Overall, I agree that shrinkflation is at play, and I prefer the old size!
Could not click fast enough. 😂🙌 My experience is similar. The new cotton clean ups are dramatically different in sizes and do unwind easily. I had a few that couldn’t effectively soak up two cubes. Jumbo cotton balls are like a quarter of the price of these new mini cotton clean ups and work so much better. These new cotton cleanups do fit into mini warmers easily but they aren’t effective in my view past two cubes of wax without risk of dripping everywhere. The number of these it would take to “replace” my old cotton clean ups I would need 4 packs to 1 of the old size. They just are not convenient for me. So I may use the ones I have left for my mini warmers but not a repurchase for me.
I'm SOOO disappointed in this change. I bought the larger size when they were $6 with no problem, if I could get them at some kind of discount, I did. It is a luxury product, but I felt that $6 wasn't a bad price for what it was. When they went up to $10, I thought that was really expensive. I only got them when I had half off items from a party or half price in my club. I personally don't have many mini warmers in my home so the smaller one isn't of interest to me. I also had no problem using 2 or 3 cotton balls for a mini warmer. There is room for both sizes. Let the consumer choose what is best for them. I don't understand why they didn't add the new size AND keep the larger size. More money for Scentsy, if there are that many people that like the smaller size. I heard people asked for a smaller size, I was not one of them. I did buy some with the release of the new catalog but I will use what I have and then I don't see myself getting any more. I'll stick to cotton balls. I put something in Idea Share along with a lot of other people but I think that method takes forever to see change. Shannon 😊
The new ones look so disappointing!!! Sad as I really really like the original ones, so much so that I ordered a bunch via club before they went away. They need both!!!! The mini is good for mini warmers. And I think I would buy for minis but honestly only as host credit.
