This is a very village based Macbeth inspired movie. The acting is amazing. The actors and other members of the team are amazing.
Malayalam movies do have a few glamorous movies, but most people here love outright human stories.
Shawn, if you do like Macbeth this is for you. You can look up other movies by the actor and director, all amazing stuff!
Kerala is a place you guys should visit once Covid is controlled.
These are a few mythological Malayalam movies. All pretty old. But do check out if you can get good subtitled versions.

2. Njaan Gandharvan
3. Vaishali
4. Guru
These are my all time favourites in the genre. Non of the new ones are very lore based. But getting good subtitled versions of these might be tough. If I do come across I will get back to you.

The current generation of Malayalam movie trailers focus on giving a feel of the movie without giving away the plot.
Joji is more 'Macbeth inspired' than a straight up adaptation. So it entertains even if you aren't into Shakespeare.
Easter egg: the actor playing the young priest around 40 seconds into the trailer is Basil Joseph, the director of Minnal Murali
