I think it is wonderful that you never take the easy way out on any of your projects! You persevere no matter how much time and effort are needed. Your results are always incredible! ❤ this piece.
Hi Rachel, I hate when project prep becomes a nightmare 😱 but we all know it happens time to time , unfortunately. With that said , I have one word for you…STUNNING❣️❣️❣️❣️
I knew when I bought the piece that I was scraping the paper off. I didn't like the fact that it didn't even fill the frame - not to mention I thought it was a bit bland. :)
*Rachel, your decoupaged door is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS‼️💙🤍💙 It was a lot of work, but so worthwhile❣️ It is one of my favorite things you have EVER DONE, and that brass and crystal doorknob just MAKE IT OH SO SPECTACULAR❣️ The decoupage paper was PERFECT with the DIY BOHEMIAN BLUE COLOR...and I L💙VED THE WHITE ROSES❣️🤍🌹💙*
The door came out gorgeous. It should after the struggle you had next time maybe try some Dawn power wash that stuff is amazing. I don’t know if it’ll work but it’s a good try thank you.❤
OMG I'm exhausted from just watching you tackle that glue! I can only imagine what you felt like afterwards. Regardless it turned out so lovely. So many places you could hang this in a home. Loved that paper so pretty.
Rachel it's a beautiful piece now. Bless your heart you sure stick to a project and see it through. I'm thinking, idk if I could have kept going. That was so much work. It is so unique that I'm glad you finished it.
I'm glad you like it! Thank you!! And honestly, I might have considered just going over the paper if it had actually completely filled the frame, but with a gap all of the way around it and the paper being relatively thick, it potentially would have left a "lip" in my finished work, so I chose to remove it and not take any chances. :)
Rachel, so much work on this project. But definitely worth it. Beautiful! I love the blues. We don’t see many darker colors but I like them. Have a nice weekend.
Well now when I saw your original door I thought oh that is pretty why is she going to take it off. However I completely stand corrected your finished door is fabulous, wow!!! From the color of the door to the beautiful roses paper wow!! Thank you for sharing I want to use that beautiful paper for a project thank you for the link.
Rachel, this seems to be similar to what happens to me with almost every project-I go through some unexpected disaster. Your piece turned out beautiful! The blues are all so pretty. Thanks for sharing all the trials and errors you went through to get this lovely piece. Have a good weekend.
I don't think many people realize just how often we run into snags when upcycling some of our projects, lol! I swear if I could just simply paint and be done, life would be so much easier!! :) Thank you so much - happy weekend!! :)
That was such a little bugger to you! Shame on it. I would have reached the point of fire setting after the 2nd go around. LOL It turned out stunning. Wow, what a difference. Great job Rachel! Have an awesome weekend.
I didn't have any Goo Gone unfortunately and with no car and a time limit I had to use what I had on hand, lol! Thank goodness I finally won the battle, though!

Beautiful end result, but in hindsight could you have just applied a primer over the old paper before decoupaging?
I'm glad you like it! Thank you!! And honestly, I might have considered just going over the paper if it had actually completely filled the frame, but with a gap all of the way around it and the paper being relatively thick, it potentially would have left a "lip" in my finished work, so I chose to remove it and not take any chances. :)
