Glitch still works guys. I just did it today to check. Key is to go the speed before traveling speed and begin holding the button to release the wheel at 570 distance. Glitch only works on 2 of the legendary ships. Ships: -El Impoluto & HMS Prince. Your welcome.
The issue is have is when I try to jump on the ship I either fall in the ocean or the ship just pushes me like I jump on the deck and it just throws me off
Honestly, it’s funny to me how in the level where he stole the jackdaw, he didn’t steal the 30 mf man o wars with no guards on it, he stole the tiniest worst ship

The Jackdaw was already so overpowered and ship battles were so easy, you wanted something so powerful to the point that fights the would be pointless?
Finally did it after 5 hours, but then I accidentally jumped off the top of the ship and died because the movement in this game sucks. I want to go one direction and Edward is like "naaaaaa we dyin' now mate."
He didnt even had a good start you can just hang on the side killing everyone standing on the side of the ship then you can stealth kill 1 more Guy and then there are only something like 5 people left
Glitch works as of now, except you cant "glitch" onto the ship, but instead i timed it right and landed in a weird spot. Then the ship literally stopped moving so i climbed really high on my ship and swung onto it and i got it. Your welcome
what you do is you put a marker on it and when it reaches near 560m release the wheel quickly then the cutscene will play you have to time it well and it might take awhile :D
How the hell did you do that I tried to do that and it glitched me into the bottom of the ship with no way out and every other time I tried to jump on it would see me and move away
I just tried it and the legendary ship pulls out of it’s warpath and away from you once Edward is at the front mast of the Jackdaw. Looks like this glitch has been fixed.
It doesnt work anymore in the switch version The El Impoluto isnt registered as a jumpable object. So you still can get off the steering wheel before the animation comes but you cant jump on the ship
They should have made the boarding battles more engaging by having the ability to throw grappling hooks if you get close enough. This allows you and your crew to board and engage the enemy ship crew who should be more proactive and aggressive as they are aware of the player's boarding attempt. Also the enemy deck crews should get reinforcements coming from the lower decks to fight the player and how many reinforcements you have to fight depend on the size of the enemy ships with larger vessels having more crew. Also for legendary ships they should have stronger crews than of normal vessels having better combat skill capable of countering some of the player's combat moves and having more health
i got a very wierd glitch, when i stopped exactly at 561m the cutscene played and then the ship did not ram me! ( This is the 2 man 'o' war's at the east side of the map ) both the ships became inactive. I defeated both the ships and got 20000R after that which ever ship i came across was a legendary ship!!! i got 3 man 'o' war's, 1 arca del maestro and 1 HMS fearless totally i made 60000R. anyways after you exit the game the glitch is no more but i had 60000R
yes, happened with me as well, after the cutscene, just don't move forward, they get inactive and you can kill them. they even keep on spawning again and again and money stays.
i defeated all legendary ships with the level 45 jackdaw at its max! but the legendary at the top with the ramming power really took the shit out of me
Not true actually. I defeated the HMS Prince with this way too. I even have a video of that lol, but I think if you just wait long enough for her to circle around your ship then you can jump on with the ropes if you're lucky.
I wish you could steal the el impluto because you get on the ship then kill everyone and then the wheel is free to get get your crew members on there and you'll be the King of the West Indies but no he sticks with the jackdaw

You can actually swim because the moment you left the Jackdaw the ship will stop moving as well then go back to jackdaw go to any reaching platform to hop onto the legendary ship then kill them that's what i did ..
I can't do this since I can't get get loose of that wheel while in battle mode. If I get lose of the grip before that, the ship wont attack me at all...
hello, playing AC:BF first time in 2024 😅 I only wanna avoid Ship Combat, coz i play on a laptop and I don't have a mouse. &, it's very difficult to do the combat through keyboard only. 😂😂😂
I believe so. They should still be able to battle for fun and will be marked on the map as completed. I dont think you will get any loot from fighting them a second time though.

This is a cool trick and all, but you can only defeat them once in a playthrough so it kinda spoils the fun beating them in straight up ship battle

An easy way to take out the crows nest gunners is to use the lift to go up one, take his musket and then kill the other one with the musket

I accidentally found that if you attack it during a storm sometimes they will winding up sinking themselves around the water spouts

I have tried this once by myself on the ghost ship my mistake was that I went from the sides and started swimming so I got shot and died :/
Yeah, you need to do this glitch to get on the legendary ships, as you are suppose to instantly die if you try boarding them.

I've tried doing this since i would do this a lot in Rogue, but the game doesn't let me release the wheel in these battles vs the Legendary ship.
I think you have to let go of wheel at like around 570m and the glitch should work. It worked for me earlier this week

It doesn’t go near the ship anymore just like what happen on the vid. The ship will no longer ram you if you let go of the wheel.

You can still release wheel but the ship rams you off your ship and you fall in the water, this onli works with HMS Prince as far as I know

Easiest way to do them is to get behind and just spam stuns. Doesn't work on the mortar shooting ship (bottom left)
