- After a week of living in Oslo it is safe to say that I am now fluent and feel like a local. My extensive Norwegian vocabulary is being used daily...albeit it the same 4 sentences. Just a random vlog with some random Norwegian words of wisdom. Enjoy and Vi ses.

@@duanesaundersmedia It's not a simple answer lol 😓 Mainly, the climate is better for my health (physically), the type of landscape and lifestyle is really more me than anywhere else and helps with/inspires my work (I'm a Storyteller/Illustrator) and I've always felt somewhat drawn to Norway/The North. I get a sense of calm, quiet and cleanliness even though I know nowhere it's perfect, I'd regret not at least trying to live there even if it's hard. I'm very well thanks, hope you are too 🤗

Norwegian is one of the easiest languages to learn by native English speakers. In fact, according to the FSI (Foreign Service Institute (US STATE DEPARTMENT)) an English speaker would need about 575 hours or 23 weeks of practice to become fluent in Norwegian

ha this isnt all too recent but helped me manage some more courage to move to norway, i plan to travel for a week or two then move if i like it i wanna live in the more rural areas, ty for this i love your humour lmao.

One week and you speak Norwegian. That is impressive. I struggled 😊. You should visit Trondheim or Stavanger and hear the accent compared to Oslo (bokmål)

That part of the world is very beautiful. I was in Copenhagen in Oct 2018. Really impressed and love the place. Expensive by Australian living standards, but well worth it. People are very nice and helpful...especially to tourists like me. :-) But if you work and live there, then all probably be ok. All relative really.

@@duanesaundersmedia Haha...no probs. I mostly stayed around the city area since I was there for a conference. But the city and vicinity areas have so much to offer. Old and new architectures....museums......Royal Palace.....Little Mermaid attraction. Even the aquarium not far out of town was very nice. Buy an Copenhagen Card and download the app....it will save lots of money with transport and entry fees to various venues. Enjoy!

Duane's Diary here it comes haha. I always felt a need to explore more than just the Netherlands. At first I just fell in love with the Country, space and Nature it self, you see in The Netherlands we have 17 million people in a very small country where nature is getting less and less. The weather there is amazing too, yes even the snow! I love snow and dont mind walking instead of cycling or going by car. Now I am very good friends with a family there and the daughter specially. She truly is my sister. They see me as family and we see them as family too. I learned that houses are cheaper and getting a job is easier in Norway than here. Here we have many people but it’s crowded . I mean the food there is more expensive, but I can live with that. After my study in 4 years I will first be a few weeks with them and go home afterwards. They want to show me more of the country and learn about Norway to be sure. It’s hard tho, leaving family behind, but this need and love for Norway is too big, sounds cheesy I know HAHAHA😂. Well that’s it.

Hi I want to study medicine in Norway and I’m willing to learn the language. However here in Africa there’s no way I can do the Norwegian Language tests and this admissions requirement for all universities. Do you think I should first do one year language course in a Norwegian university and then apply the year after for medicine? How do you think I can meet this admission requirement?

@@person-ce8cr it's milder all year round where im from. Norway has cold winters that last a long time historically. But the last few years have seen a change in climate, making it quite similar to the UK. Where are you from?
