The Fender 70th Anniversary American Professional II Stratocaster honors the spirit of the 1954 original but adds some modern updates to the mix. Enhanced playability features include a deep C-shaped neck in a satin finish, a rolled rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius and 22 narrow-tall frets.
The 70th Anniversary V-Mod II single-coils are absolute ravers but are also extremely dynamic and expressive. You can dig in or back off, and your stylistic intentions will be delivered just as you want them to be. Interestingly, the pickups are crafted with a mix of Alnico II, III and V magnets. Looking back to the pre-CBS era of the Stratocaster, the 1954 and 1955 models used Alnico III single-coils, while the guitars manufactured from 1956-1965 went with Alnico V magnets.
“This neck is super comfortable,” says guitarist, producer and session musician Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer, Patti LaBelle, Keith Urban, Paul Simon). “It fits right into my hand. Add the nicely rolled fretboard edges, and it’s so easy to navigate around the guitar neck. I find myself in all kinds of musical situations, and with a Stratocaster, I’m able to achieve a lot of different tones without having to keep switching guitars. As a professional guitarist that’s super important when touring and doing sessions, because I can ask myself, ‘What guitar will do the trick for most of the things I need?’ I never go wrong with a Stratocaster.”
The Fender 70th Anniversary American Professional II Stratocaster also features an alder body with flamed-maple top in a stunning comet burst finish, an upgraded two-point tremolo (with cold-rolled steel block), a push/pull Tone control and locking tuners.

What are your thoughts on the 70th Anniversary American Pro II Comet Burst Strat? Let us know in the comments! 🎸🤘
Please do another Kurt cobain mustang with a Seymour Duncan bridge
The comet burst is growing on me. But I like it.
What is the color of the case these come with? OUTSIDE/INSIDE Any writing on the inside of the case? Thanks In Advance.
@@MARKLINMAN1silver case with blue lining. It's gorgeous
Ernie Isley is a very underrated guitarist he did some incredible things with the Strat in the 70’s. Great reminder of the classic Strat tones
That’s my guy right there! And we are Isaiah’s home store!! Shout out to store 363
Such an incredible guitarist. His playing with Cory Henry was so super funky.
OMG, this is one of the best Strat tone demo videos, ever! Thanks, Isaiah & GC.
Glad you liked it!
Funny how you can believe you’re good and then you hear someone who actually gave themselves to their instrument. Then you see the difference 🤷🏾 it’s humbling.
First, agreed.
Secondly, for what it's worth, you're probably still good. It's just that the skill ceiling for guitar is Stoopid high (and that's assuming it even exists). And every now and then you see someone who's well on their way to it. 🤣
It's like you're in the anime Bleach. You get to Captain power levels, and then you witness old man Yama, and then you see the other captains who existed long before you did. And you're like, "Bruh......what is this power scaling?!???"
Guitar Excellence Personified right here...I love this young Brutha's playing!! Thank You for today's 70th Anniversary Fender Stratocaster demonstration and guitar lessons!!! This video will be on constant repeat. Yo Mr. Rick Beato...I hope you two connect up if you haven't already. Much guitar love Mr. Isaiah Sharkey 👊🏾👍🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾. 🫵🏾 Da Man!!
Sharkey,I love this video ! You took time to explain your favourite positions on the switch, including a little story in between... I could listen to you all day ! Hope one day we will meet for a jam. Notice : I'm gonna buy this guitarrrrrrrr....Thanks a lot for your generosity !
That run he does from 4:30 to 4:42 just beautiful
Of course Isaiah makes any guitar sound amazing lol
Isaiah Sharkey's one of my favorite guitarists
I just got one of these from my local Fender shop... I agree the neck is perfect. Fits right in the hand... The finish on the neck is super smooth and fast unlike some custom shops I've played where the nitro cellulose is kind of sticky. I read somewhere that American pro II guitars are very brite... It's true that they can be, but you have way more bandwidth on your tone adjustment with this guitar... You can get a huge variety of tones out of these... I saw the top on a Facebook post from my local shop, and that is really what got me interested in this guitar. Pictures don't really do it justice... The quality fit and finish is just flawless.
That is the sound of the USA; the sound of my childhood- 80s and 90s. Oh the beautiful memories and anticipation of the records with that sound. Great great playing.
Clean. Love the white edge on the pick guard. Pickups pop against the black tortoiseshell, too.
Saw him with John Mayer, really adaptable player and morphed to what each song needed but when he soloed, it was suuuper tasty.
I bought fairly-used Fender recently for my home studio in the making, drawn by expertise and quality associated in crafting one instrument that remains evergreen for generations to come.
Thank you, Mr. Sharkey, for the shout-out to Jonathan DuBose, one of the modern gospel guitar pioneer icons. Appreciate you calling out the Andrae Crouch (& the Disciples), James Cleveland Choirs, Clark Sisters, Hawkins Family, and Donald Lawrence Singers. This is probably an introduction for some viewers. Check out some classic gospel, y'all. You can also hear guitar players like the following in Mr. Sharkey's style: Jubu Smith, Josh Smith, Jerry Jerdine Sr., Hubert Sumlin, Frank Williams, Spanky Alford, and Howard Carroll. Love the AM Pro II Strat in the comet burst!
I love that he gave a shout out to Jonathan Dubose! The guy’s a legend and plays an absolutely incredible rhythm part on the song “Jesus I’ll never forget” on the Azusa 2 album. Check it out 😊
Great run-down on *the* classic electric guitar.
Wonderful video. This guy is versatile, and plays beautifully.
So inspirational video!
Awesome player! Thanks for the class.
Saw Isaiah with Pino Palladino and Chris Dave, he's such an incredible player
Extremely Cool Strat / I would prefer a black ebony fret board . ✨🎸✨🇺🇸
Always phenomenal
Beautiful strat!❤
Beautiful
WOW! You are a Genius on Guitar!❤❤❤❤❤
It’s a Stratocaster. That’s all you had to say! I played Hums almost exclusively for 20 years. Influenced by mainly SRV began exploring with a Strat. Been playing mostly a Strat ever since. Too good.
Every ad for every guitar these days says: “It does it all from jazz to blues to rock and metal. It can sound like a Strat, Tele, or Les Paul.” Also, “Vintage style with modern appointments.” They all say that now.
something i like about you genius guitarists you alwayd mention the past legends (Jonathan Dubose )😇😇
Amazing Guitar. ❤
Love the hat !
Look nice sounds perfect
Not a guitar / amp combo for us working stiffs unfortunately. Everything costs so much and prices keep going up. My car insurance went up 40 percent despite a perfect record, homeowners went up 30 percent. Love you Fender but this economy is a GAS killer when you have mouths to feed. Cheers!
Amigo Gracias por mostrarnos tu guitarra esta muy BIEN
Isiah is too good!
from Japan
Fender Deville's are the best, most affordable clean tube amp! I lug my 4x10 around everywhere 🤘🏻
Just curious how is that line six stomp set up? Are you using an amp model or running it like effects only with no amp or cab in the chain. Sounds amazing whatever it is.
BRUH!!! Y’all COOK!!!
I hope Fender let you take that plank home!
He kinda remind me of eric gales in a way but different love these players you can be any kind of player and play just about any style of music and he can fit in players like this is fun to jam with not boring and stuck on playing Ice cream changes all day
REAL COOL!
Now I just need a 15% off coupon 😊
Love this bro (guitar science)
I’m not really a big burst color guy, but this is not bad.
Freaking VIRTUOSO!!!
Anyone know what Sharkey's playing at around 11:17 or so? I realize he may be keeping things general/improvised to avoid copyright issues... but it sounds like he's playing a song and i'm trying to place what it is. Anyone? :)
Aaah you make you play like I dream I could play…
Whats the signal chain?
i think it is a hx stomp xl connected directly to the amp (twin reverb)
This hole time I been playing wrong
So what you’re saying is this Strat has tone… :)
Great articulation and subtle playing! But for an iconic model and 70th anniversary release it looks like the workers went Rambo on the pickguard screws. It's bulging.
Niiice
Max tastier player than mayer
Did he wrote a good one?
Sharkey is definitely a monster player, there’s no denying that but there are some things you’re missing about John Mayer, he writes great songs, he surrounds himself with great players and most importantly he sings…a wider range of people relate to a human voice compared to the voice of an instrument
I wasn’t aware of the competition.
@@Dnell-tb1ydSharkey writes great songs too (check out Love is the Key) and he also sings beautifully. They’re both great artists in their own right that bring different things to the table.
@@JoseOrtiz-rq3kx My comment wasn’t a knock on Sharkey, me like probably most people are more familiar with John’s songs.
that volume knob is getting higher. Terrible on these fenders.
Am I the only one seeing that the fender twin is a prop🤐
It's not - his signal chain is hitting the front end of the Twin.
