The fact that the pride flag book tag helped you have a hermione granger-esque classroom victory is, in fact, the gay agenda 🌈🥳📖 Love these recs and love you more! Happy pride!!!! 💖
Emma's dressed like the bi flag if it were a person and in her assumptions video she mentioned she's not straight ... I think she's trying to tell us something
Undercover Dragon that was my first thought! Like mmmmmm Emma’s dressed like the bi flag maybe she’s telling us something! And then yet again I thought maybe it’s just my bi brain reading to much into this! 😂
Me, a raging bisexual: *sees Emma's getup* Me, remembering a something Emma said a while ago: mkay Emma, i see u *wink wink* ALSO, currently reading Of Fire and Stars;)
The bi rep is real and I'm in loveeeee Also thank you I needed more lgbt+ books to read! Also thank you again for putting this out today because I needed some positive lgbtq+ energy today
high key almost started sobbing when i noticed all your makeup, clothes, and accessories are in the bisexual flag and colors it just made me so happy oh my gosh 🥰
Emma! Your eye makeup and your bi heart necklace! ❤️ I loved How to Make a Wish and I had NO CLUE that The Diviners had an asexual character! I’ll have to give it another try!
Emma, you really said bi rights in this video huh? 💖💜💙 Also, I adore you. I love you. You are everything. Thank you for mentioning Of Fire and Stars, it’s so underrated and amazing, it’s one of my favourites of all-time! I’ve been talking about it for ages and I’m so glad other people are starting to pick it up! I’m reading Evelyn Hugo next month, I’m so excited! You and Hannah piqued my interest for sure. I’m also reading Ace of Shades soon, too! I had no idea The Diviners had asexual rep, brb reading immediately!!! I need more ace characters to scream about. How To Make A Wish is so good, I wish more people talked about it!!! Ugh Emma you’re slaying this tag!!! 💙💙💙 Another LGBTQIAP+ / religion book I’ve heard a lot about is Dress Codes for Small Towns by Courtney E. Stevens! A lot of my friends really resonated with that story. I didn’t know Release was queer, but I’ve never read any Patrick Ness books (oops). This video is wonderful, you’re wonderful, okay bye. 💓 (sorry for the incredibly long comment oops)
Ahhh! This video made my heart smile. I've always adored your LGBTQ+ book recommendation videos, but this one really hit me. In the couple of years that I've been watching your Pride videos, this is the first year that I don't have to hide the books that represent me best in my car or under my bed. I'm finally free to be myself and seek more representation. You were the first BookTuber (or RUclipsr in general) that I found that repped LGBTQ+ books. When I was questioning my sexuality, and figuring out that I'm a lesbian, your videos honestly helped so much. Thank you so much for the bottom of my heart for being amazing 🏳️🌈❤💙💚💛🧡💜
i chose evelyn hugo for the second question as well!! it’s such an amazing book and i’m so glad i read it a few months ago 😊 btw i love your makeup, emma!! 💖🏳️🌈
I have to be like the millionth person to recommend Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda but I’m doing it anyway!!! Also by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera!! What If It’s Us (yes that is a dear Evan Han reference!!)
I love the colorful makeup, it really adds to the aesthetic. You also covered the background of the flag and the color's history. My goal is to try this tag next year as well. Thanks for being an inspiration!!
I know everyone is talking about your (stunning) eye makeup, but I have to say, I LOVE your bi pride heart necklace! It's so simple, yet so cute! As someone who has recently come to terms with my identity as bisexual (thought still working on the courage to come out), I really want to find more bi pride accessories and clothes. Love the necklace, and this tag, and you!
Btw you really helped me with your video how to read the Shadowhunter Chronicles, so thanks you're truly amazing, maybe I should go comment that on that video, oh well
Yeeeeeeey! You mentioned Release by Patrick Ness!! Literally one of my favourite books of this year! (although I do like the Queen and the Faun part too)
I loved this Emma and you look gorgeous in your whole outfit, makeup and hair (as always). I read Evelyn Hugo earlier this year and LOVED it! And then I read a few adult romance books with LGBT themes; one I liked, the other not as much (upon reread). Then I also read Red, White & Royal Blue which I would 100% recommend. It's incredibly well done - romance mixed with politics, but it's EVERYWHERE right now, so you probably know what it's about.
Hey Emma!! My school just broke up for the summer (Scottish) and I can't go to pride til August, but I'm really looking forward to it! Love your videos, keep up the good work
Oh my gosh! When you brought up how to make a wish my heart STOPPED because I’m a bisexual named Grace lol! Great video! Love how YA has gotten a boost of representation over the past years and it really shows! I’ll have to check out more of these books, they all sound amazing!
Love ur makeup in this video. Beautiful. And thank u for explaining the colors. I had no idea and appreciate u taking the time to share that info. Thank you.
Yes, Ace of Shades! I finished King of Fools the other night and stayed up sooo late because the last 200 pages were just INSANE (as you know). My heart is broken and I can't wait until next year. I'm confused and sad and heartbroken. Jac, forever in our hearts.
Terrific video, thanks so much for recognizing and celebrating all of us, I am an older (60) gay male and it's so wonderful to see young folks aware of the history, present and future of acceptance and understanding.
I still need to read the Diviners. It’s just the length is so intimidating to me so I haven’t touched it yet but hearing you rave about it makes me wanna give it a shot. Maybe after I finish the night circus I’ll try it out
I highly recommend Like A Love Story. I read it with one of my #bookstagram friends. I was crying ugly tears. If you read this prepare for the heartbreak. The story is so complex and I cannot utter words.
Seeing you going from a closeted anxious bean to a proud bisexual (idk if ur bisexual, just assuming because of the colours, sorry if I’m wrong) makes me so happy😘 obviously you’re still a bean
Ace Of Shades is one of my most FAVORITE books. I just picked up the sequel, I'm about a third of the way through, and I am so glad it's 600 pages because it's so good!!!
I loveee the makeup look! have not hear of release but I am adding it to my goodreads TBR! Also I love Spencers channel so seeing the love for them in this video is so heartwarming!
Just like other comments have said - awesome rep in this video! Added to my TBR list! Thank you for doing videos that show representation in YA for groups not often represented that totally deserve it. I would love to see a booktuber tag on body positivity in YA! I recently did a post on my blog about body positivity, specifically more representation for plus size characters, as you don't see them often. Recently, there has been a few, but I'd love to see more! And hear about other books focusing on all forms of body positivity.
I am not sure if it's okay to put this here, but I was so inspired by your video featuring PRIDE representation, that I plan on making a post of my own for it, but I also created a book tag for what I stated above, if anyone wants to participate! Thank you Emma for being an inspiring vlogger for this blogger
I got How To Make A Wish from the bookstore yesterday, and I can’t wait to read it. Girl Made Of Stars is one of m favourite books that I’ve read so far this year, so I know that I’ll like it. I’m planning on reading it for The Reading Rush.
Full Circle by Michael Thomas ford is an all time favorite of mine. Is an adult historical fiction and the story centers around 3 male friends and their friendship since they were born in the 1950's till their adulthood it's full of ups and downs(the Vietnam war, Aids crisis, among other stuff (it has few steamy moments)
I love this tag! I almost forgot about the Diviners- I haven’t heard anyone mention that in so long. I started an early arc of the first one and didn’t finish it, but every thing people say about it makes it sound SO GOOD I want to go back to it one day.
I absolutely love How to Make a Wish, it's by far one of my favorite queer books. My current favorite is The Music of What Happens by Bill Konigsberg, it's about two boys who run a food truck together and develop feelings for each other. There's also so many hard topics intertwined and I loved it a lot.
For a LBGTQ book you should read Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford. It's about a teenage boy named Jeff who is committed into the mental hospital after trying to kill himself, and it's surprisingly funny. Jeff has a dark sarcastic humor that made the book so good. For a feminist book you should read Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller. It's about this 17 year old girl who goes on a road trip with two friends to get an abortion after the restricted system of Texas denies her. That book must be read and known!
Okay, I'm definitely gonna read The Diviners. You made it official that I have to add it to my wishlist. I'm currently read Kings, Queens and In-betweens. It's a cute read. I'm still at the beginning, and enjoying the voice of the protagonist.
i love you and this bi look is everything 💞💞🌈🌈 also, knowing someone I look up to is lqbtq+ means a lot and makes me so happy so thank you & i’m proud of you 💕
Was kind of hoping you’d say Heretics Anonymous as a recommandation for a religious queer book, but then I realised that it isn’t one of the main themes (I think). I have yet to read it but I’m honestly so grateful that you talked about it (a while ago), because i’ve never read a book with a Jewish gay girl and (as I am one myself) I’m really interested to see how it is portrayed.
Your look is EVERYTHING 😍 I'm actually FINALLY going to read the Diviners this month during a readathon (so now I really have to. After it being on my shelf for 4+ years 😂)
I Wish You All the Best by Mason Deaver is about a non-binary teen named Ben who moves in with their sister when their parents kick them out. Also covers anxiety and depression (medication, therapy, etc) Also includes gay and bisexual characters. I feel like you would really enjoy it!
the bi colors are everything :D
