J35 looks somewhat similar to F35; however, F35 is too heavy, too fat, too slow; combat radius too short, weapon bay too little, air to air missile range too short, fuel tank is too little; no super cruise capability, not to mention engines failures too often. Chinese J35 help US corrects all these problems and it beats F35 in every way.😎
Question: how is the J35’s sensor suite? How are its targeting systems? I will fully concede that the F-35 is not the most nimble of aircraft. That was never its purpose. It is literally meant to be a flying, semi-invisible sniper with a massive drum magazine. So if the _only_ improvements the Chinese have managed are “it flies more gooder,” I am sorry, but it’s still getting smoked before the pilot ever realizes he’s not alone in the air.
F-35 has similar estimated range, more powerful engine (even when combining both of the J-35's), greater estimated payload weight (and greater _effective_ payload capacity, given deeper bays in a multi-role fighter), can carry long-range A2A missiles from across NATO (beating out what the J-35 can carry internally), and has one of the most reliable engines _ever,_ from _any_ country, with more than _double_ the life expectancy of a WS13. Try again.
People forget that the F35 is a hivemind. Its not just the usual 'Max speed, operational radius ' stuff, but that plane can remotely hack computers and disable navigation systems, it gives the pilot 360° views (yes, through the walls of the plane), and none of the comparisons mean anything when the United States has the capability to launch the F35 from any corner of the world thanks to large number of military bases and Navy presence basically anywhere
It's more similar to the F-22. China is pretty amazing for sure, even if they're taking design cues from our aircraft, they've managed to put these, and other cutting-edge systems into production in fairly short order. Too easy to dismiss them as just blatant copies. That's a typical, whistling-the-dark argument to dismiss China's many accomplishments in weapons design and production. Underestimate them at your own peril.

But even looking at American stealth aircraft your claim isn't true. B-2 looks radically different. Or the F-117 looks like nothing else. The specific reason J-35 looks like an F-35 is because that's the design their spy stole from Boeing computers in 2008. Not because stealth aircraft have to look like that. They just didn't innovate anything themselves from the ~30 year old American design that they obtained.
It’s not really copium, china just re uses a lot of assets from other countries. ZTZ99A is a T72 variant, their first aircraft carrier was a partially built kuznetsov and the other followed the design. It works for them.
@jacobl5488 it’s smart really. A lot of (not all) Chinese innovation for your basic military hardware came from Soviet/Russian federation and western NATO countries, and they know it’s all combat proven. It’s just viewed as unimpressive at times.
I am a student who graduated from the aviation industry. To be honest, Chinese culture is humble culture. We don't want the world to think we are powerful. We don't care about how the world sees us. We just focus on doing our own things. Because quarreling will only waste time for development.
Copying, over capacity and at what cost are the three most common comments regarding China. Only loser saying this and China's rival is China itself not US if anyone really understands it.
There will be a carrier based j35 variant for sure, but stovl Variant is almost unlikely. China has drones and fixed Wing fighter capable assault ship.

In my understanding, if FC-31 is a 4.5, we call it 4.5 gen. If FC-31 is a 4.5 gen ,then it is gonna to be 4.6 or 4.7. Something like that, it is an advanced version. While the internet media keep spreading rumours, deep inside our heart it is a FC-31 alpha. After all these fake info, the world think this is our 5th gen jet, it is just wrong! It is not that easy to design a true 5 gen jet. American used almost 20 years ,while we are not ready to design a 5 gen jet. Blowing a ballon cant make the jet fly on the sky ,it is impossible.

The F-35 can carry more munitions than the J-35. 4 in belly 2 in sidekick. J-35 does not have sidekick weapons bays.
Try again.

It's more similar to the F-22. Too easy to dismiss them as just blatant copies. That's a typical, whistling-the-dark argument to dismiss China's many accomplishments in weapons design and production. The difference between J35 and F35 is much larger than difference between B737 and A320 or Between IL76 and C17. Is A320 a copy of B737? is C17 a copy of IL76?
@@wbwam7710not really, f35 has an ugly hump on its back for the VTOL module for certain variant. Meanwhile almost every 4.5-5th gen fighters produced by any nation will end up looking the same due all using the same directive deflection angle.
Basically F-35 with 2 engines.
@@bingbing3464 No, 4.5 gen is upgraded or modernized 4th gen fighters. They use 4th gen airframes, not 5th gen. Obviously the Su-57 isn't really 5th gen either.
The copium is real in the comments.
It’s not really copium, china just re uses a lot of assets from other countries. ZTZ99A is a T72 variant, their first aircraft carrier was a partially built kuznetsov and the other followed the design. It works for them.
@@Keith-jp6jw ya nothing wrong with that, historically everyone copies. Its normal. people just salty

To my foreign brothers ,this 4th gen jet is not a true 4th gen jet in terms of American. It isnt a 5th gen jet in terms of Russian aswell. It is an advanced version of FC-31.
