    This new project looks exciting! Two requests: Clearly you have a great face and as much fun as it is to look at said face, could you please turn the camera around while filming so we can see more of the project as you walk around and talk about it? (And I know it's challenging to film while working, but I would be as equally interested in watching if you just threw the camera on a tripod and ran a timelapse while you guys are working!)
    And, lastly, this project is going up quickly, largely behind the scenes, so perhaps you could do a walk through showing us how some container-specific construction was done? For ex. a closer look at the piers and how the containers/framing posts are tied into them, how the deck framing is attached to roof, more info and video of the particular metal materials being used (angle iron, tube metal, carport framing etc)?
    Appreciate your sharing! And great work!

    Hiring a glazier for those installs would have saved you tons. I do this type of work daily and definitely understand your struggle here but also see the opportunity for a seamless install for you if done right. Confirmed dimensioning on both ends is critical especially when dealing with a material that needs to expand and contract next to a material that will break if pressure is applied. This is why I love glass. Looks awesome! Great takeaways.

    oh man that sucks, worst we had to do this last build was move a wall in the master bath. at least it was fixable for you. with our windows we frame them with 1x4 steel then the window company comes and measures them selves, then its all on them haha.

    Use Milwaukie 14 TPI 9 inch torch Saw blade for cutting metal which is the best. You can get the blades at Home Depot.

  • @MrAdzielinski

    To keep this from happening I gave the fabricators one of my windows so they could pre fit the metal frames before cutting out and welding them into the container.

  • @CONTAINERMAN68

    I was curious if on a 45', 48' or 53' containers, if you could cut out the side wall between the 3"(?), posts, and not have to reinforce with any additional framework? The area between the posts where the upper container would sit if you were stacking them. Thinking of ways to reduce costs in extra metal. Just use the metal frame work for the window.
    Another thought, remove the ceiling of those containers that have the double stacking posts, 45' 48" & 53', frame in an 8' wall with ceiling, mount high impact glass as a ceiling, then using tubes with reflecting mirrors positioned in the space where the glass is at as a ceiling and run these tubes to other rooms, using the mirrors to direct sunlight into those rooms?
    Just a way to reduce cutting into the side walls, then having to reinforce with extra metal for windows and for structural purposes.
    If you need a diagram, I could draw something up and post it on IG or email it to you?

    Almost sounds like you should order the frames/windows before cutting anything, so that you can then cut to what actually shows up?
    Crazy stuff. Nice build. 👍

    What part of Florida are you in and where is the shipping container that your building

  • @kadachiman7234
    @kadachiman7234 3 года назад +1

    I have watched a lot of these shipping container builds and even though they are great builds, I personally do not understand why people would even bother with shipping containers once the cost goes above a certain financial limit e.g say $35,000.
    I would have thought that people considering shipping containers homes where doing so as it is perceived as a low cost option, otherwise it is likely to be cost equivalent or even cheaper to go for a traditional build.
    As it appears to be more expensive to work with and/or around the constraints of shipping containers than it would be to build a normal metal framed construction.

    Is is best to calculate my window dimensions and cut out, or to build the frame for my window and cut out exactly what I need?

    • @ContainingLuxury
      @ContainingLuxury  3 года назад +1

      Depends on if you are custom ordering your windows or using off the shelf windows. If they are custom like ours we can build the frames to any size and then order the exact window. If you are trying to use the less expensive off the shelf then you will need to construct the frames to the sizes you find available that will work for your build
