This song breaks my fucking heart every time I hear it. It's about his brother's death, and how he's worried he will one day forget parts of him. "What if I completely forget? What if I never accept? 'Cause when you fade away It's like a brand new doomsday" As the video goes, they begin to dissipate. The idea of someone you love fading away is fucking terrifying.
Their drummer (Dan Searle) is the twin brother of their original guitarist and songwriter Tom who died of cancer in 2016 ☹ This song was released as a standalone single in 2017.
Thx thx thx a lots Both !!! One of my best song about one of the best Metalcore band in world... it's just my opinion, right !!! Another powerful song about cancer sick (cause the death of Tom Searle, guitarist 's brother of drummer) to listen in your request list ??? That song 's call "Gone with the wind" Karelle & Me Salute you from France... Keep Safe
You should react to Royal Beggars, Modern Misery and Dead Butterflies by Architects. Royal Beggars is probably my favorite song by them if I had to pick one. Oh, and don't forget about Animals (Orchestral version live), I'm sure you would enjoy that version of Animals!
You guys are adorable! Since you seemed to like a little metal, I have to recommend Jonathan Young here on RUclips. He has done a lot of metal Disney song covers that are phenomenal and without the harsh screaming you weren't fond of, here. I highly recommend his versions of Hellfire and The Bells of Notre Dam from the Hunchback of Notre Dam. (The second one is done with Caleb Hyles whom I also love)
There are many great tracks from Architects. I've seen plenty of suggestions for tracks like C.A.N.C.E.R & Gone With the Wind which are of course fantastic songs & very poignant with Tom's battle & eventual passing but I would highly suggest checking out some tracks showcasing their lack of fear when it comes to making a statement & saying what they want to say lyrically. "These Colours Don't Run" would be my top pick followed by "Gravedigger". A very admirable trait of Architects is the causes/ideologies that they believe in, even if one doesn't agree with all of them it's hard not to respect guys that are so passionate about said causes.
May I humbly suggest a great self-taught singer (so he says), Tommy Karevik? Tommy has been the singer for Kamelot since 2012, and the singer for Seventh Wonder since 2006 (2005?). Fantastic voice, he uses more of his own style in Seventh Wonder. My request: Seventh Wonder - Against The Grain (acoustic version official video)
You should work your way through the new album, ‘For those that wish to exist’, it’s chock full of brilliant tracks ( I think you only did Animals so far ) and a wider vocal and musical range than ever before. It has all the power and emotion they always had but now added layers of subtlety and a greater proportion of clean vocals which might suit Mike better. Try Black lungs, Dead Butterflies, Goliath, Giving Blood, Meteor, it’s difficult not to list them all. When you feel able to listen to it off channel it really rewards end to end listening, an album which is truly greater than the sum of its excellent parts.
The back story that this song symbolises, is so tragic, its a beautiful song and i think a wonderful tribute to TOM ;)

That’s terrible 💔 - G
It's the drummers brother that passed and they were twins so he plays him in this. He was also in the band so they all feel it
I also always interpreted it as them feeling as though they, themselves, are also fading away without that integral part of their life.
Can't imagine what it was like for these guys to release this album. It's an absolute classic.
I'm already loving how charming this channel is
Aw! Thank you! ☺️ - G
If you like the quiet and pretty moments, check out the piano reprise version of this song. It’s all just piano and the vocalist and it’s amazing.
If I remember correct this song was made to tribute their original drummer who sadly died of cancer

@@elongatednipples5950 thanks for clarifying!
@@itssomedonkus5700 this was one of Tom's song that he was recently writing before he died. They finished it
I highly recommend watching the holy hell documentary, just get the tissues ready though, if you do decide to watch it. I’m a new sub here 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you, and welcome! - G
