i would like to join the no more 3ds gang, i threw my 2ds on the ground when raging at mario maker a long time ago, it looks fine but wont boot and my parents never try to help find somewhere to fix it

This looks absolutely incredible and seems like a blast to play. I love 3d land and dumped a bunch of hours into it as a kid. I’m fairly new to custom levels, so what are the advantages/differences in creating levels in 3d land over 3d world?
I would say that It's much easier to make 3D Land levels than 3D World because the game is singleplayer which means you can do more crazier level design stuff than wouldn't work in multiplayer. I think 3D World levels would take much more effort trying to replicate Nintendo quality models while 3D Land models are a lot more easier to make in my opinion.

what's with the lighting? like I see shadows in some places but a lot of the course is just like fullbright... is that just an emulator artifact or am I remembering the game wrong?

This is a very well designed level. It introduces one thing at a time, the bullet bills, the flip panels, then the banzai bills

You are remembering the game wrong, those shadows are faked by vertex colours/textures.
