I think Geoff should be prescribed to people suffering from anxiety. I'm pretty sure my blood pressure goes down when I listen to him. Loved your reaction thank you.

The Peter Hollens and Tim Foust version of this is really good as well.
Only elephants can hear Geoff when he really goes low 😂😂

I chuckled about the elephants, but there is a man who can produce tones that literally DOES take an elephant to hear - Tim Storms. I'm not sure that what he produces would be called "singing", but his world record is a couple of octaves BELOW the last note on a piano, and is well below human hearing - it takes special mics to pick it up, and you couldn't hear it if it was played back at original level.

Misty Mountains is still the most popular video on Geoff's solo channel, and while Sixteen Tons isn't too far behind, there's quite a gap between that one and the #3 video, so I don't think anything is going to be catching up to Misty Mountains in the very near future.
That low note that lead Geoff hits 3 times (G1) is produced using 3 different techniques - the first is a subharmonic, the second is just deep chest, and the third (the ending note) is a deep chest that he isn't using full vocal-fold closure on, so you can really hear his breath and the individual vibrations that his vocal cords are making. I think it's pretty amazing that a man who doesn't consider himself a "true bass singer" can hit a note in chest voice that many bass singers would kill to be able to hit!

Lord, he has a gorgeous voice. In I See Fire and Song of Durin each of them get some lead time. Remember that VoicePlay and Geoff let you show all of their videos.

I love Tolkien's books and thoroughly enjoy all three of Geoff's Middle Earth covers. Geoff is costumed as Thorin, Kili, Fili, and Bofur in all three, although "Song of Durin" adds another dwarf. Geoff's clones have solos in the next two but are backing in this first one. These make me smile happily. Thank you for your reaction. Looking forward to "Song of Durin" as it is quite wonderful.

@@barbarakennedy2667 I have reacted to it already. Just got Song of Durin to go 🙂

@@barbarakennedy2667 Yes, especially because all of us (Tolkien fans) are aware that three of the four characters Geoff is portraying will not survive the coming battle. Geoff's decision to have the warriors facing battle sing it rather a bard singing about it adds to the emotional impact of the song.

This is the first of three videos Geoff did with the dwarfs. Next was I See Fire, then The Song of Durin. ❤ all the Geoff clones/tones.
