Serona I think that is because men have gotten away with it for centuries, women saying that they are not going to put up with their significant others bullshit is still a relatively new concept. This happened in my own parents marriage. Father mental, verbally, and physically abused my mother (and sexually abused me), but it still took my mother fifteen years to leave my father. When I was only twelve I had to tell my mother that staying in this type of situation is not what makes her a strong woman, it is leaving that would make her strong.

My dad had a criminal history and so many people pressured my mom to keep him for our sake because "kids need both parents" "he makes mistakes" and by dumping him she's splitting up the family and she needs to be more patient - when I know damn well that if she went out and did some illegal stuff, nobody would stand by her. It's such a myth - kids will be a lot more affected by tension and fighting between parents than having to sleepover at dad's house on the weekends etc; I really hope Cardi doesn't take him back!

I think its an exaggeration to say that most men cheat. It's just a loud minority who do. That sounds like an excuse men who cheat use. Or when people say "humans can't be monogamous" to normalize cheating or sleeping with multiple partners at once(with no regard for themselves or other people). It all depends on the person's character really. Also, its not endearing to see someone you're estranged with pop up at your job or something forcing their affection on you.
