I think the reason why Bigbang was such an inspiration for budding idols during those times was because just like everybody else, Bigbang came from nothing and made their way up through prayer, hard work, extraordinary talent and a whole lot of passion. They even said a couple of times that they were born to perform.Their debut stage is a testament to that, as if they are not rookies at that time.
The forming of Bigbang was a reality show a lot of people were able to watch. Same goes with their debut stage, its here on youtube😊
GD - started singing and has been visible on tv since he was 6, he started the lightstick trend - the 1st lightstick in kpop was designed by him because he wants them to see their fans/identify their fans when theyre onstage
Started calling BB's fandom as VIP because for them, theyre Very Important People
He started the trend of writing their own songs/producing their owns songs, which was not the blueprint back then
Through his leadership, BB became pivotal to kpop being introduced to the world, from brand engagements and to his numerous collabs one of which is with Missy Elliot in 2013
Taeyang - started training with GD since they were teens, doing endless training with no assurance of them having a debut
Top- started out as an underground rapper with zero background in dancing
Daesung- worked his ass off to prove to his dad who was against him pursuing a music career by juggling school and training at the same time
Sr - started out as choreographer in his small hometowm away from Seoul
I remember in 1 interview where GD and Taeyang told their story of them living in a very tight space as trainees with not enough food. The 5 of them recall having to share a snack by ration just so they have food in their stomach for training the next day.
They also have to live off practicing in a very small studio. Fast forward to present, Black Pink's studio is huge in YG.
Its so nice to watch this interview, the way they respect each other is so admirable to watch🥹
BIGBANG is like Michael Jackson. Like how we respect him,how the public sees him, how the Industry pays tribute to him. There's bad media play about MJ but his LEGACY is evident, BIGBANG is THAT. A living legend. Can't stress it enough, probably this is the BEST comparison I can come up with to show u WHAT they are to people hehe❣️
Suga said what I've been trying to say, at some point Taeyang has achieved enlightment around 2014. I've been a VIP for a long time and to be honest Taeyang's live wasn't really stable at first, but after 2014 he becomes this master of performance and I always wonder what special training he did around 2014.

All their concerts even way before 2014, Taeyang was already that good, specially live performance. He's been singing since 2006, and the older you get, the better you are, as long as you practice.
Someone also mentioned that Taeyang's vocal technique is so good even way before ENL days, so his vocal skills naturally got way better as he matures.

The special training was that he stopped dancing so much in the stages as u can also seevin the live performance of mama in 2015 and other performance. With his great voice that he has, he can focus more on the vocals

Taeyang (and BIGBANG) literally are legends and icons of kpop, so many people turned idols cuz of them and to this day they still have such a huge an impact and break records
What Taeyang Meant with Buying and using the Typewriter is brilliant, it made me appreciate how grounded he is. He said (based on The docu he watched) that these days you can easily delete what you write (True. We can just edit or delete) but with a typewriter, you just type. So if you make a mistake then so be it. That was your Thought/feelings at that moment. It is like an unedited diary.
I really hope ARMY and VIP respect each other like our artists.

It felt like a conversation between an older brother and a younger brother. Talking about experiences and helping give good advice from his own wisdom from being in the kpop music industry and his real experiences. Taeyang has always been so humble as a person who works so hard at his craft as an Artist. Still a King of Kpop.

There are actually lots of kpop Idols who gain weight in the military, mainly because, as Taeyang said, you are forced to eat three meals a day (meal times in the military are fixated and you usually don't get a lot of time to eat either so you'll have to eat quick which also makes it easy to overeat). It is pretty normal for Idols to only eat once a day or just eat things that are very light so gaining weight in the military isn't abnormal.
