That’s great, I studied architecture in Africa first then in Europe and I am glad I did because by the time I was in Europe and they were teaching the history of world architecture, I could immediately tell the strong African influence in their architecture just by looking at the structures. At the time I was very open to different explanations of the origins but just looking at the architectural language I could tell what the inspiration was particularly the Greco/Roman styles. You won’t believe the fictional explanation our lecturer in the U.K. gave of the inspiration/origins of the Greco/Roman style of architecture… and this was a supposedly top architectural school.

Zimbabwe is still the intellectual capital of Southern Africa. The history should inspire the nation to reclaim it's glory. The Portuguese paid curva or tax to the Mutapa Kingdom for decades. Apart from paying the curva all goods entering the kingdom were levied an import duty equivalent to 1/20 of their market value. Non payment led to seizure of the goods. Thank you Wode Maya for showcasing the rich history of Zimbabwe. Look out for my book entitled, ' North of the Limpopo : A Fascinating History of Ancient Zimbabwean civilizations '. We were wireless. Africans used drums. The drums were drummed a certain way to say there is war, dance, feast, or other events. In my village people wrap their hands together to inform the whole village and beyond that there is beer or meat for sell and the people knew exactly what was communicated. In my village, people take one week turn to graze the whole village cattle. So when the person on duty is ready to go grazing, he wraps his hands together and blow into the hallow created by the palms of the hands. By so doing everyone who owns cattle comes out, frees the cattle and drive them to the person on duty. The same happens in the afternoon when the animals are brought home. There were also signs put on roadsides to communicate. For example, if there's beer for sale in a household you will see a sign on the walkway to the home. There were different signs and people knew what they stand for. So nothing is new. We were wireless before the west is wireless.

The real truth about Zimbabwe's sanctions is to hinder it from its greatness. If Zimbabwe was to succeed after land reform, then the whole African continent was to follow suit. I feel ashamed of hating Mugabe during his days, I was lost.

It's not all about sanctions, we got enough resources to flourish upon that land reform, the major sanctions is our leadership, coz from the word go we knew it that as long we claim our land back, definitely the Western would subsequently sanctioned us,let's stop this monopoly of a blame game and irk out a living with what we have, show the world that the land reform was not a fluke or failure, unless we change our negative and self pitting mindset blaming the West, we won't succeed

Not true. The Scriptures were in Africa before they ever went to Europe. The coup de tat happened during the time of the Nicene Creed by Roman and Greek bishops against the North African holders of the faith. Ask yourself, how could Christianity become an institution about 300yrs after the fact. Africa you were rhe original holders of the faith, and still have the original worship of God. Don't let the West fool you. All they did was take what you knew about God, and restructured in such a way to hide the truth: Assyria battle ax, Egypt my people, Israel inheritance: all the children of Ham. Abraham's genealogy I believe misconstrued. The Scriptures are not referring to these small countries named after biblical places. It is talking about a people, a family....that is you Africa - Zion is who you are.

@Wode Maya, this is deep, very true, our culture, our societies and forgotten or denying our ancestors because someone said so! We need to go back to the drawing board! They never had prisons, no street kids or homeless people, no stealing, no drug usage, no hunger! They were brother’s keepers, materialism and selfishness was non existent. Forgotten our languages etc, the list is endless! The bond was great. We need to go back to the drawing board and guidance will be unleashed to the whole country or continent of Africa!!
