Getting Recommendation is a corrupt one and not a suitable procedure to choose a genuine one. A rigour interview and testing thought on concept of Physics is the best to choose the genuine, the formal one is so much corrupt many with high intellect just got demolished. Have seen many bootlicker to get phd in foreign with average cgpa. I don't know why they want 2-3 recommendation.
What resources did she use to start researching faculty at universities/finding PhD programs other than having networked? Is there a Campus France equivalent to Japan's higher education system admissions/applications?

But website like findaphd, nature career etc. helps in the search.
