Whenever a CRPF convoy moves, it should have at least 1 fully Armed WhAP for every 4 trucks/ buses with CRPF soldiers. 30 mm gun is good for CRPF as they dont intend to use heavier guns like say 105 mm etc. the remote turret, i would prefer 12.7mm or 0.5 inch heavy, but 7.62mm is good enough.
Rather than wait for the FICV which is at least an entire decade away, why not replace obsolete BMPs and APCs much faster? Vayu Sena needs 2000 such vehicle to replace its fleet of BMPs. That is an excellent case for placing at least an order of 1000 with Tata right now, it will probably take them ten years to deliver. At that point, FICV can come in replace the other half. Infantry fighting vehicles like the Tata Kestrel are far superior to the obsolete BMP's which have failed dismally badly in both Iraq and Ukraine wars. 2373 BMPs were lost. Those are huge losses. Tata Kestrel has a V shaped hull, which makes it far better able to withstand mines, and more armor. The vehicle has been designed to provide protection against land mines. It ranges from Stanag 4569 Level I to Level IV with the hull being designed with protection up to Stanag Level III. The hull configuration evolved follows a 'V’-type bottom with double configuration consisting of an inner panel and bottom panel. The bottom panel is designed to deflect the blast energy and get deformed to minimize the blast effects.Snap-on modules are used in the Kestrel in order to easily configure it according to needed roles in the field. A more modern, faster and better armored weapon with no spare parts issues. The time for the Tata Kestrel is now.
Tata should innovate and make it Work with hydrogen. Hydrogen can generated in snowy mountains itself. once it is made to work with hydrogen, INDIA should have 12,000 of them.
Thankyou for the detailed analysis. Request to give more details of the subsystems in the Final product. In this video more details of the Tonbo Subsystems, or the inputs/contributions from smaller defence companies would make us understand the extent of Make in India, Aatmanirbar and indegenisation.
@@datoolz0 there are many areas that are marshy or have such condition, even say sand, in these areas the tracked vehicles move better than wheeled as they offer a better ground pressure due to wide tracks
Once their mass production start their price will reduce for sure India need to order at least 1000 of them for army & paramilitary both Plus There export potential exist But before that induct it in large numbers

Terrorism is not going to stop, these special police units will be the first to respond. having such WhAP with them will ensure that they have better protection and fire power than the terrorists. They need a better weapons package for the personal carrier. The Russian antiquated gun needs to be gotten rid of. Also, I doubt it is much good in water. It looked about to sink in this video.
No turret, no gun ! Defanged Whap , where the only firepower would be a guy with an Insas rifle who would be easy picking for a naxal. Brilliant strategy to screw up indian made system by our strategists
India needs minimum 1000 of these vehilcles to counter twin terror china and pakistan.
Current order is very little
no, it is just the right size for the import lobby to sabotage and bury it

Are tracked IFV's actually needed? Order kestrels now, when FICV actually comes into service is when orders can be placed for it.
