Man oh man ….. the analysis and your feedback on Kendrick’s speech is so spot on. I will say , once I INITIALLY heard the lyrics to “Fear” …”30 shows a month and I still won’t buy me no Lexus”… among the remaining lyrics as well as other songs that Kendrick has , I knew he was going to be a different breed - meaning a lot of these “artists” so to speak get into the game for the soul purpose just to get out of their perhaps dire situatuon(s) only to flex and spread specific agendas that do little to no good for the community…
Even the fact that some years ago when he purchased his sister a car , ppl were appalled thinking it should have been luxury considering his status was very telling of the mentality of some: Lack of gratitude and focus on the physical.
With that being said , you’re absolutely right about the comparison and contrast between spirit and flesh! Yes … it’s ALWAYS nice to do what you’re passionate about - whether it’s to make a difference in a persons life via music , content creating , designing , doctor , lawyer , etc, and to have nice things. HOWEVER , and that’s a huge however , once transition of life comes knocking at the door , it’s ALLLLL about spirituality, because things of the FLESH don’t come w/us either which way when we go in the after life. So …great looking out touching on that subject of spirituality, God , & physical in this reaction because it matters and needs to be spoken of now a days imo 🙂.
Back to regarding Kendrick, he seems like he’s not only doing what he’s passionate about , but doing it with an extreme purpose… and that’s very commendable.
