I dont think this guy understands how big of a star he is, and that's what makes him so charming in a way many artists not are.
He's not like other artists, he goes solo everywhere with just a guitar and a loop pedal and turns the whole stage on fire. He doesn't need a whole bunch of band crew.

i can never understand that kind of commentary. Why are you proud of him? I think that to be proud of someone implies youre related to them, are responsible for them in some way. my favorite thing about Ed Sheeran concerts is how they're essentially incredibly large-scale busking sessions. it's literally him up there by himself with nothing a guitar, a loop pedal and his voice. it's incredible.

i know nothing about music. i can't even guess how hard it is to sing a song better than originals while playing a guitar, make those tunes from loop pedal while crowd shouting, sweat like hell on that stage, remember to jam all those tunes on loop pedal on exact moments, manages all of this crowd, no one to help or to rescue if something goes wrong etc etc. Do i want to be like Ed? never. That's too much pressure man. Love ED!

It's obvious that Ed is of a new generation that invests as much time into electronic devices that enable his unique music making talent as in the music itself. His "Chewie II" board drives a complex looper system that enables him to be a one-man band with rich, multiple mixes from one bar of music to the next, and he builds and "plays" the loops masterfully, almost more than he plays his guitar, in each track in support of his singing and performance. The digital era of music led us into synth, pitch correction, instrument replication and free backround tracks, and Sheeran has taken the next step: make every track live, using only what you have (guitar, voice, sound effects) on hand, and blend them with loops to replicate a full ensemble with Ed on top. He's perfected it.
