A singer's job is a hard one. Your instrument is a muscle. There's no fret to put your finger on and no cymbal to hit. Age will affect range. On top of that, trying to hear your vocals above the rest and hit the right note... He's still one of my favorite singers though.

Cause back then RoadRunner Records had Suffocation, Gorguts, and Obituary on their roster at the time, also because Burton was heavily influenced by Justin Broadrick and Barny Greenway of Napalm Death and Dino being involved with Brujeria kinda gave us the feeling they where a dm band also.
More than likely, whenever I saw Fear Factory this was a closer or close to it, probably the case here… And Burton C Bell TRULY is the “dry lung martyr “ for better or for worse, no effects on this boy’s mic set up!! Respect

He’s never looked after his voice. You’ve got a lot of bands where the singers go between screams to clean vocals and it’s about training the amount of air you use and keeping on top of it
Avarice tons of heavy vocalists still have great pipes. 20 years later and tommy rogers of btbam still sounds incredible. Sounds like burton didnt take care of his vocal chords.
Maybe he should just work on his voice with a professionnal or something. Unless he's ill, i just can't believe he can't sing the cleans properly anymore, work always pays off. Shit it's not like he's 70.

Better to sing with tons of effects to help the overall performance of your band than to sing completely live while knowing that you'll completely ruin it.
not just burtons voice but dinos offtime riffs during the chorus and maybe some other moment. I saw these guys atleast 2 or 3 times, last time with this line up they played a mediocre show for their talent. One of my favourite bands since a child and it will be forever. Its a shame they dont sound cohesive together. I still wish one day Raymond and Christian would come back.
At least there’s some humility from Burton as opposed to someone like Chris Barnes. Sometimes you have to step down, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

The vocals ain’t bad. Could be a lot worse. Look at it like this. This dudes been doing this shit at this point in time over 20 years. I know for one that if any extended period of time is taken off from doing this style of vocals it is HARD AS FUCK to get back to a level you once you were. Maybe some can do it better then others but there will be a difference. Look at it as basically starting all over again. Shit takes practice. Anyone can can do a bad ass growl for a minute or two before they start losing their breath and coughing. The dude has cemented his spot in metal and has nothing more to prove. If you have been a artist all your life and stopped drawing for a number of years it’s gonna take a lot of time and practice to try to get to where you once were. Be lucky if your a true fan that you still get to see the dude perform live.

This band is beyond dead and buried clearly burton has lost it.. this is just a cover band not really a band tied together there's no musicianship no emotion, the drummer and bassist is like a zombie playing their instruments like a lifeless robot this is really sad to see
