Watched your channel for years Jordan, but politics is not what I come here for. Good luck with your channel.
I also enjoy watching your work. I've picked up many tricks of the trade from you. Thanks for sharing your expertise, there are not many true "TV repairmen" left in the world!
Appreciate your time making these, your experience really comes through during narration and visual inspection on those removed components. No substitute for experience! Looking forward to the next phase of repairs.
I do really enjoy watching your work. I wanted to be an electronics technician, but I ended up being just an electrician
Almost became one. Looking back it may jave not been as interesting as electronics, but probably pays more.
I've been enjoying this series a lot. And it reminds me of the SX-939 I used to have around 15 years ago. It was mint, and worked 100%----I regret selling that one
Dont feel bad. Just about every one I see has dying contacts on the pushbutton switches. Plating wears off
Usually for double sided boards I tend to add new solder to any components that need to be removed. Seems like when you reheat them again after adding new solder, the old components come out much easier.
👍👍
Jordan, you do excellent repairs and filming, thank you :-D
It's a pity that the camera can't sit on the bench to the right, so it's not so annoying for you. :-(.
Capacitors with a nappy, what an odd thought :-D
👍👍🐸🛠
Jordan; can you do a repair of sansui 5000X right channel no sound issue? Or a similar receiver bc they all are probably similar right?Your videos are very helpful to novice like me.
First verify whether its a pre out issue or amp issue by pulling the jumpers on the back and injecting a controlled signal into main in
Those big filter caps look like they have seen better days. The rubber seals are kind of green, and one of them seems to have leaked something.
Physically the rubber bottoms look like crap
So far my leakage tester shows theyre good at rated voltage. Still read within 5% of rated microfarad.
Lets not beat about the bush here, this is united chemicon's special spooge, in a nutshell it's chinese semen.
Dear My Pier, very interesting video, can I ask you a question, where and what type soldering iron are you using? Thank you kindly for the help.

I recently got a 1979 Harman Kardon HK560 Stereo Receiver free works great I just need to buy new fuse style light bulbs for the stereo what would you recommend me get the original incandescent or LED because only two of the six light bulbs were actually working (is this a good deal by the way?)
Stick with the incandescent lamps. The LED lamps are too intense in my opinion. Change them all. What you dont change will die from jostling old filaments during the disassembly process
@@JordanPier thanks
Great work my friend, question....I notice when you're installing the new caps how do you know its polarity on the solder side of the board. I don't recall polarity markings on that side.
I note the polarity when i remove. Ill make a map if i have to
@@JordanPier ok...sounds cool.
Jordon the +5v rail in my amplifier is reading 11v and i cant figure out why
Either not loading the rail properly, or regulation circuit has failed. If you have a schematic of that circuit, inbox me at vintageavrepair (at) gmail and we can discuss.
@@JordanPier Sent jordan, thank you so much
