SKZ tend to have multiple meanings for their songs. This can be taken at face value to be about a relationship, or to be about the idol industry/music industry. Especially about being an idol. The idol industry is very well known to be Toxic. And people still walk into it, knowing it's gonna be bad. And they don't wanna leave, because sometimes the benefits are better than the negatives.....But you have to be lucky to get those.
Changbin got the idea for this song while watching a spider on the ceiling, weave its web. The song is about a toxic relationship, as explained by Changbin “Using the keyword ‘spiderweb,’ we wanted to express a person’s fatal charms that are difficult to escape from, which led to the song giving off a dark atmosphere that equally is fatal.” The lyrics of course translate to precisely that, and the end says “your charms trapped me like a spider web.'” One clue is Bangchan as Cupid holding a bow pointing an arrow at I.N. heart (in the video). They love the subject of toxic relationships, probably because a big chunk of their inspiration comes from K dramas, webtoons, and Anime. Another great example is Red Lights by Hyunjin and Bangchan. There’s a few great videos of them talking about Venom, and btw the spider sound is from a music producer called DallasK
