I ate way too much today 😂😂 I’m thankful for your videos. I love watching them when I am relaxing, especially after a rough day at work. Thank you for always making me laugh & smile.
So much to say about this incredible box ! Danke to Michelle for all her thoughtfulness and care. It was nice to actually see her video of pronouncing and explaining. Yes we do advent calendars. Mine this year is sayings. You both look adorable in your Christmas 🎄 hats. We have Kinder eggs here , but no small toy pieces now as Kate said. Just a lovely 😊 way to start off the Christmas holiday with this amazing box. Thank you and love ❤️ from the USA 👍💕😊👏🎄

Grew up in Wisconsin with German ancestry (nearly everyone Wisconsin has German ancestry) and many versions of these things were available in our local supermarkets during the holidays. Most of us had a grandmother that made much of it from scratch. Springerle (anise cookies), macaroons and stollen are still super popular in American homes w/ German ancestry around the holidays. Happy holidays!
The Last Christmas card was a song put out well before you were born probably by Burl Ives, he had many songs and this is from his Christmas Album and was the first Christmas music I listened to for many years, always got my spirit going. 🤣😂. He also narrated the old versions of Rudolph and Frosty on tv. That box looked amazing, thanks for sharing as usual. I love Kinder chocolate, it’s one of my top chocolate favs. 🙋🏼
Many thanks to Michelle and thanks to you two for trying out these festive treats from my home country. You're always so respectful and appreciative in your reviews. Hope you and your folks have a wonderful Christmas time.

Love this video!❤️ fun fact: the Christmas tree (Christbaum) 🎄 tradition originates from Germany!😊 The green of the evergreen fir is supposed to symbolize awakening life, the candles stand for the return of light and the associated hope for the brighter season. Every year when I was growing up in the 1970s my grandmother would give me and my sisters our own advent calendars and it had chocolate in them. It would be so cool if the US got the advent calendars with the tea bags. What a great idea. When I was growing up my great grandmother, who was German and lived in Germany, would send her daughter, my grandmother, and her grandchildren, my mother and two uncles, a large metal tin full of different boxes of German cookies. My sisters and I would get so excited when we would see the postal truck around Christmas. Each year I go to Aldi and buy some of the German cookies that I remember. I haven't been to Lidl around Christmas to see what they have but I will have to. I always loved the heart shaped cookies. Probably because they hearts and I love hearts.
We get not only German imports for Christmas but UK/British ones too... We get the stollen cakes usually with either chocolate or marzipan covering, and we get little gingerbread cookies covered in powdered sugar called Pfeffernüsse we get spekulatas all year round, both Dutch ones and German ones. My heritage is Scottish German and French Canadian, though I was born here in British Columbia, but my grandparents were from Scotland, Germany & Quebec so I've eaten many of these things growing up. We also use to have a Marks and Spencers here too and several stores that would import British and UK products. We also use to have stores that would bring in British jams and such for Christmas and Easter but now we can pretty much get them year round at certain stores.
Can't express enough how much your vlogs make me smile, laugh, drool ever so slightly, at the same time....... lol. Have been a candy fanatic since I was a little one, sweet tarts, gummy-bears, Popeye candy cigs, humbugs......could go on and on. Big hugs, best wishes sent from Canada's capital Ottawa...….cheers
Yes we do advent calendars you can get them very inexpensively or you can buy the more pricey ones, they have tea ones and coffee ones too not just chocolate ones too
What a lovely way to end my day! I’m German on my mother’s side but sadly I’ve not had any of these yummy treats. Looks like another epic box, so many cute things. So nice of you both to have a giveaway, especially at Christmas. I’d love to win, it my turn to host Christmas, I’d love to share with my family especially my two grands!
My mom had German ancestry as well. Every Christmas time, she'd get out the old candy and cookie recipes and crank out amazing holiday treats. It's so wonderful to have parents with roots in separate cultures (my dad was almost entirely English). Another thing to be thankful for! Happy Thanksgiving!
What a lovely box Michelle! I also love hearing how different accents sound in English! We do have quite a few German brands at Aldi here in America. We had a Danish exchange student staying with us a few years ago and he loved those brands.
I’m so happy you made a video with German Christmas snacks! I love Spekulautus!!! At Aldi, I love getting the Spiced Spekulautus with almond flakes on the bottom half. I’ve bought them the past two years from Aldi for the Christmas season. I never bought myself an advent calendar of snacks til thus year. I got the cheese one. We have them here in the US. Kids get the chocolate ones as well as adults. I like the chocolate covered ginger cakes shaped like hearts. Those are delicious! I can’t wait for more Christmas taste test videos.
Hey Kate. The song that you were talking about in the Christmas card that was sent to you, that played "have a holly jolly christmas", it actually is sung by a famous singer. That's the original Burl Ives version.😊 I really enjoy your video's. Love watching you guys! Merry Christmas!
We had Thanksgiving today and am amazed it's here already. My favorite time of the year is Christmas. Happy it is here but gobsmacked as you all say. Flabbergasted, we'd say. Hehehe
This is why I neve took German in High school! LOL. Such a hard language to learn. Really sweet of her to send a video with her box! I love these vlogs!!!❤️
I just found your channel this evening. I was actually looking up Norwegian snacks, & then I found your German ones. It’s been very fun watching you try the snacks from the places where I have heritage.
You should video tape you guys eating the candy from the advent calendar everyday or whatever kind of calendar it is, then post it on christmas one video for all 25 days
Only problem with that wonderful idea is: in Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th already, so there is only 24 pieces of chocolate in an advent calendar...
In America we do have advant calenders it's one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. We have different types of them chocolate(traditional) , socks, mini wines. And so much more. You can find them all online.
Loved this sweet package ! Michelle is so great to narrate all the treats and teach you some German ! And she is so pretty ! My grandkids have a lot of advent calendars. Lego ones, my granddaughter found a Disney - Frozen themed one , and T. Joe’s has chocolate ones for 99 cents . I have a wooden one with mini doors in it I put a dollar per day for each kid . And on Christmas Eve they get five bucks ! It is my granddaughters birthday that day ! She will be seven . It’s a bit hard to crave these German treats when I am still so full of delicious Turkey !! And all the trimmings . Now time for some Christmas spirit . It used to be most stores were closed for Thanksgiving. But this year even our giant mall was open . We fell bad for the employees missing their sacred day with family . Thank you for the wonderful video!! 👑 🍫 🏰 🎄
So pleased you enjoyed watching! She’s so beautiful 😍 ah love that. I have always wanted to get one of those wooden advent calendars!! I feel like I would get some when I have kids ☺️ oh wow that’s so nice of you! Haha I hope you enjoyed your thanksgiving meal. Oh no! That’s so sad. You’d definitely think they would keep the stores closed
I came back from Thanksgiving din er with extended family. I am now relaxing and trying to stay awake. I enjoy watching all of your videos. I have tried to think of a box I could send you but you have had many from the USA. I would like you to try a Christmas treat we enjoyed as kids. Get a lemon and a couple of regular size candy canes. (Not minis.) Break off the curly top of the candy cane then bite off the bottom. You should have a porous candy stick now. Cut the lemon in half and stick one end of the candy cane in the lemon. Now suck on the other end of the candy cane. You get sweetened Peppermint and Lemon juice. Delicious. Have a happy holiday and keep on making these videos.
We also just got kinder bueno’s here in the US and I finally got to try them and they are my favorite!!!!!! I have also seen some of the kinder characters at target so we have different kinder things here now which is exciting!
People in the US do have advent calendars, but they aren't always chocolate. For the past two years I've bought my son the LEGO Star Wars minifigure advent calendar. Also, that's definitely Burl Ives singing Holly Jolly Christmas on that card.
Milka , cadbury and Oreo are all owned by Mondelez international. That’s why they have similar products and packaging and they all incorporate Oreo in their bars lol

This video was amazing. Your videos are the best when it comes to tasting candies and snacks and all around everything super good. Love you Kate and Alex😍😄
We in Canada do advent calendars. My kids have all grown so we don't do them anymore😥, however we do have lots of adult advent calendars😉. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. This year HAS flown by.
We have advent calendars in the US. One of the things I like most is that we don't just have chocolate. You can get a Lego calendar and open one Lego piece a day that you use to make something, a tea calendar where you get a different tea every day, or a lotion calendar with a different body lotion every day, for example.
Christmas already? Oy! 😸 But I can't not watch your noms-box videos, K&A. Your gastronomic exploration of the world via post is always some of my favorite YT content. How sweet and lovely is Michelle for the multimedia box of goodies? It all looked so good, too! (...Maybe sounded a bit tongue-wringing, but only to say aloud.)
That box looked delicious and was very "Christmasy". I'm always impressed how well Europeans speak English when it's not their native language. They must start learning English at a very young age. Have a good week and remember Christmas is right around the corner.
We have advent calendars here in Canada too. The ones for kids have popular kids movie characters and other things. There are also Lego ones with Lego stuff inside each one and many other ones with toys too.
I got my Christmas Box from you guys, and its AMAZING! I am doing my best to wait to share it with my family, but it's so tempting to hide in my closet and just eat the whole thing! 🤣 I did sneak one of the Cadbury chocolate orange snowmen, and it was delicious! Reminded me of a Terry's Chocolate Orange, but better! Thank you guys!!!
Yaaay so so happy to hear this Nikki!! Haha I know right 😆 so hard to not eat it all on your own! Yay so pleased you loved it!! Thank you for the feedback ☺️
I’m not sure if all states have them, but recently here in Texas, we have had Kinder Bueno in stores. I love them and was so excited to finally try them after hearing about them from y’all.
HEY YOU TWO! OH MY THANKSGIVING GOT ME VERY BEHIND....I AM SO SORRY! I REALLY ENJOYED THIS VIDEO...I THOUGHT MOST OF ALL THOSE THINGS LOOKED REALLY YUMMY! MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE DECIDED WE WANT TO DO ADVENT CALENDARS THIS YEAR SO I REALLY ENJOYED THAT. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HOW YOU GUYS ENJOY THAT. WE HAVE AN ALDI GROCERY STORE NEAR US AND THEY CARRY A LOT OF GERMAN THINGS AND I ALWAYS ENJOY BUYING THE DIFFERENT THINGS AS MOST OF THE TIME IT IS ALWAYS REALLY DELICIOUS. WHAT A DELICIOUS BOX!!!! SOORY TO BE LATE.....LOVE YOU GUYS....HUGS.....JANE
That's funny I was eating cashew nuts watching you.. The hearts filled with gingerbread flavours u can find in tescos during end of November / December xx
I actually go to a culinary school for baking and pastry and we made homemade stalland bread!!! It is amazing fresh. If you ever have a chance to make it, I would. So good! 😁
I had to pause this several times and so will watch it again. But, thought I would throw this in. Many Americans use the Advent Calendar, from Mexico through the US and into Canada. It depends, though, on your religion, traditions you observed growing up as well as whether you have small children (sometimes when people have small children, they want to establish traditions in their family). I believe that it is much the same as in many other countries, though more do in one country than in another. The U.S. of America is such a mix of so many different people and religions and cultural backgrounds all the way to no culture or background of traditions. There are Christians, Hebrew, Buddhists, Sikh, Celtic, Athiest, Agnostic and many others. I am an American, from the US though my culture predates Thanksgiving. But my background also includes England, Ireland, Spain and Finland. And 2 of my grandkids can add Germany to their list. We had the advent calendar growing up but it wasn’t high ceremony and some days we would forget. Though we celebrated Advent in Church. I have a friend who had a very serious ceremony in December and January and the Advent Calendar and the Nativity or Crèche was included in those traditions, as well. This was an awfully long answer to a simple question but saying ‘yes’ would have been only half right. 😁
It's almost a year later but had to make two comments. 1) Advent calendar treats don't have to be eaten in the morning. 2) The card singing singing Holly Jolly Christmas was sung by Burl Ives in the American TV holiday movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It came out in 1964. I didn't read all the comments so these two things may have already been addressed, but I couldn't not tell you as I loved Burl Ives and I love this holiday song! (Google it and you'll find all the words😀)
I entered the giveaway !! I hope I win lol. I just ordered those two exact Lindt hello bars from GBGifts and I’ll be receiving them in a few weeks !! I’m so excited to try them !!

Ahh awesome. I thought you must do!

I just bought the Cadbury candy box, it shipped today. I can’t wait to try it with my husband, nieces and nephew.
This video was amazing. Your videos are the best when it comes to tasting candies and snacks and all around everything super good. Love you Kate and Alex😍😄
You’re too kind! Thank you so much! We love you too ♥️
We in Canada do advent calendars.
Amy Levin Yeah all The Lego products from Denmark 🇩🇰 my friend 🙂😎✌️
I love watching you two try different things!!!♡♡♡
Yay thank you Cassandra! 💓
Christmas already? Oy! 😸
But I can't not watch your noms-box videos, K&A. Your gastronomic exploration of the world via post is always some of my favorite YT content.
How sweet and lovely is Michelle for the multimedia box of goodies? It all looked so good, too! (...Maybe sounded a bit tongue-wringing, but only to say aloud.)
I know. Can’t believe how fast this year is going!
Glad to hear you enjoy watching! She is so lovely, can’t believe how generous she is!
That box looked delicious and was very "Christmasy". I'm always impressed how well Europeans speak English when it's not their native language. They must start learning English at a very young age. Have a good week and remember Christmas is right around the corner.
I love all German Christmas Candies, especcialy that honey heart :)
They have really amazing sweets...
Hello Alex and Kate miss you so much and can’t wait to see you again Xx
Hey Hope!! We miss you too and can’t wait to see you soon ☺️ x
Kate here in Belgium we say speculoos or speculaas. In Germany they say it a little different
I'm not American but I'm definitely thankful for a 40 minute video!
Its so funny to hear you speaking of my hometown Aachen 😂
Aachen💪👌
Another fun holiday box. Kate, your lipstick stayed intact throughout. What brand is so long-lasting? You look beautiful in bold red shades.
We have advent calendars here in Canada too. The ones for kids have popular kids movie characters and other things. There are also Lego ones with Lego stuff inside each one and many other ones with toys too.
Thank you 😀😀
Yes! We love the advent calenders, in America!! A very special tradition in my family ❤
Oh man the German candy boxes always look so good!
I agree this year definitely went by way too fast!! I can't believe Christmas 🎄 is only 3 weeks ago!! 😳

I got my Christmas Box from you guys, and its AMAZING! I am doing my best to wait to share it with my family, but it's so tempting to hide in my closet and just eat the whole thing! 🤣
I did sneak one of the Cadbury chocolate orange snowmen, and it was delicious!

I actually go to a culinary school for baking and pastry and we made homemade stalland bread!!! It is amazing fresh. If you ever have a chance to make it, I would. So good! 😁

my German heart broke when you opened the Ritter Sport chocolate the wrong way
Ahh sorry! How do you open yours?
@@ThisWithThem You are "supposed to" break the chocolate bar in the middle, alongside the seam of the wrapper.
What an epic box. I've tried both of those Ritter bars. Yummy. I agree that German xmas treats are really good 👍👍👍👌👌👌🙂
I had to pause this several times and so will watch it again. 😁
Happy holidays to our friends
Happy holidays to you too 🎄
It's almost a year later but had to make two comments.
I’m so excited to try them !!
dgtronic The Lindt Hello Chocolate 🍫 is actually not from Germany 🇩🇪, but The Lindt Hello Chocolate 🍫 is actually and original from Switzerland 🇨🇭 my friend 🙂😎✌️
