When I was little, it was a big deal that Kinder Bueno eggs were illegal in the US. Everyone told us how they were illegal because of a US law prohibiting confectionery products that contain a “non-nutritive object” because it's considered a joking habit. As kids, we all used to find that funny and used to joke "Who would try and eat the toy in a Kinder Egg?" and it's still a running gag that children find funny over here that someone would try and eat the toy. So when you guys went and tried to eat the toy I burst out laughing. No one can prepare you for seeing the thing you joked about as a five-year-old happen in real life. Bless your hearts, though, you're an adorable couple and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Kinder is really popular in Germany, it's made by the same Italian company that makes Nutella too :D And toffifee is like marketed as a sweet for the whole family, which is very present in their ads too. Many people grow up with them, so you're really spot on with that lol

FUN!!!!!!!!! German food is my jam! Lived there 3 years and visited twice since. There is nothing like walking around a "real" Christkindl market in Germany, at night with all the lights on, sipping a Glühwein, while eating a "super" Dickmann's which is two or three times as big as the ones you had. They sell all shapes, sizes, light chocolate, dark chocolate. They are fresh tasting - not like the packaged ones that look like they have been abused.

I always really enjoy watching your videos, but this has got to be one of my faves. Probably because I know most of these items you tried (I’m from the Netherlands, so we also have many of these German snacks). Trying the kinder egg was especially funny, überraschung means surprise, so I guess that fits 😂 Like Kristin said these are for small kids, it’s mostly about the little toy inside. But here everyone knows it’s in there 😉 I think it’s not allowed to sell them in the US because of this toy inside. Hope you guys are feeling better by the way. katjes do good snacks i love the yoghurt gummies they taste really fruity a completely different world of gummie bears. haribo also produces good ones, although there has already been an upgrade with the fluffy yoghurt bottom. my favorites are these katjes because usually there is a lot of artificial stuff in the snacks and i really feel it when i eat a pear gummie, or a banana. and i'm not surprised that knoppers is the bestseller xD every american who made such german snacks videos celebrates knoppers :DI love knoppers!

Idk if there’s a difference of flavor between “Toffifee” and “Toffifay” never tried “toffifee” but “Toffifay” are my favorite chocolate!!! And that specific kinder egg took me back to my childhood, kinder eggs here in the US are different now for that same reason choking hazard 😔

About 16:00... Almdudler is originally a drink you most likely find in southern bavaria. I don't think i have ever even seen it anywhere else in Germany. It is a kind of lemonade from herbs and has a really unique taste. I personlly like it best when you are skiing and then you go into a restaurant up there in the alps, that is just a vibe and a taste... Yeah. And not tropical at all 😂 i never tried the haribo gummy version of it though

That leads actually to a interesting question: does the nationality of the company that owns the brand determine if a product is for example German or Italian. For example Lamborghini: this brand is owned by VW, but the cars are still produced in Italy. Is a car from Lamborghini now a German car or a Italian car? And the same goes for Ferrero: since it would be a logistic nightmare to produce all candy of Ferrero for the whole world in Italy and transport that all over the world Ferrero started to create factories in many countries of the world to produce the candies in the countries where they are sold (that is cheaper, no customs and shorter transport routes etc). So if you buy a candy from Ferrero in Germany you know the company is Italian, but it is produced in Germany by the German factory of Ferrero in Frankfurt. Does that mean that candy is Italian or is it German?

When I was little, it was a big deal that Kinder Bueno eggs were illegal in the US. Everyone told us how they were illegal because of a US law prohibiting confectionery products that contain a “non-nutritive object” because it's considered a joking habit. As kids, we all used to find that funny and used to joke "Who would try and eat the toy in a Kinder Egg?" and it's still a running gag that children find funny over here that someone would try and eat the toy. So when you guys went and tried to eat the toy I burst out laughing. No one can prepare you for seeing the thing you joked about as a five-year-old happen in real life. Bless your hearts, though, you're an adorable couple and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

FUN!!!!!!!!! German food is my jam! Lived there 3 years and visited twice since. There is nothing like walking around a "real" Christkindl market in Germany, at night with all the lights on, sipping a Glühwein, while eating a "super" Dickmann's which is two or three times as big as the ones you had. They sell all shapes, sizes, light chocolate, dark chocolate. They are fresh tasting - not like the packaged ones that look like they have been abused.

Probably because I know most of these items you tried (I’m from the Netherlands, so we also have many of these German snacks). Trying the kinder egg was especially funny, überraschung means surprise, so I guess that fits 😂 Like Kristin said these are for small kids, it’s mostly about the little toy inside. But here everyone knows it’s in there 😉 I think it’s not allowed to sell them in the US because of this toy inside.

katjes do good snacks i love the yoghurt gummies they taste really fruity a completely different world of gummie bears. haribo also produces good ones, although there has already been an upgrade with the fluffy yoghurt bottom. my favorites are these katjes because usually there is a lot of artificial stuff in the snacks and i really feel it when i eat a pear gummie, or a banana.

About 16:00... Almdudler is originally a drink you most likely find in southern bavaria. I don't think i have ever even seen it anywhere else in Germany. It is a kind of lemonade from herbs and has a really unique taste. I personlly like it best when you are skiing and then you go into a restaurant up there in the alps, that is just a vibe and a taste... Yeah. And not tropical at all 😂 i never tried the haribo gummy version of it though

That leads actually to a interesting question: does the nationality of the company that owns the brand determine if a product is for example German or Italian. For example Lamborghini: this brand is owned by VW, but the cars are still produced in Italy. Is a car from Lamborghini now a German car or a Italian car? And the same goes for Ferrero: since it would be a logistic nightmare to produce all candy of Ferrero for the whole world in Italy and transport that all over the world Ferrero started to create factories in many countries of the world to produce the candies in the countries where they are sold (that is cheaper, no customs and shorter transport routes etc). So if you buy a candy from Ferrero in Germany you know the company is Italian, but it is produced in Germany by the German factory of Ferrero in Frankfurt. Does that mean that candy is Italian or is it German?

Those kinder eggs are so good!! I grew up with them until they were banned in the states because of choking risks which is ridiculous. The new kinder eggs in the states aren't the same. The toffifee are delicious!! Kinder makes really good chocolate. I just discovered this video and got excited bring back my childhood. :D

The sweet is properly called "Foam Kisses" - "Schaumküsse" and usually sold on the candy stands in Spring/Fall Fairs (Kerwe) and Christmas Markets. They will have different flavores of all kinds. Sometimes around 100 different flavors, like Mocca, white chocolate, mint, lemon, Strawberry, etc.
Kids/teens will usually buy one to Smash in their "friends" face or hair....pretty mean.
In the past, they called them "Mohrenköpfe" or "Negerküsse", something very offensive and racist nowadays, You'll still hear some older folks call them that when walking on the fair.

'Six' in German "sechs" isn't pronounced as 'sex'. It's a soft 's' instead of a sharpe 's' in the word "sex". However, Kristin did a very good Job and I think no German would hear the word 'sex' in that context.
