Very inspiring story. What a determination. I am very happy to see there are some similarity with my life. Up to 10th (SSLC) I was a less than average student. Did my Diploma in Mech Engg from Pandalam NSS Polytechnic with 'State Rank'. Joined at Keltron in 1974 (based on the state rank). Moved to Trissur, did my BTech at Trissur Govt Engineering College as University Topper. Went to USA in 1986, did higher studies in 3 major universities, worked in major MNC including AKZO-NOBEL (company part of the Nobel price sponsor). I am in the judging committee of LEAP AWARD (a worldwide award for the best engineering design) from 2018, may be the first Indian/Keralite. Manorama News must come-up with more similar inspiring stories.

Civil service holders read upto their acquisition of a comfortable rank, thereafter they dont read, even the files tabled. And the result is that the subordinates and aggrieved public suffer a lot. I lost my left eye when I was 2 years old and removed it when I was 10. Including PSC and KSEB did not do justice to me and other visually impired. I had to go High Court to bring PSC to do justice. KSEB didn't want to give me a temporary Sub Engineer post even I answered all questions in an interview and I was an Instructor in Electrical that time. I had to go through CM, Chief Secretary, High Court, Village Extension department to make some changes in the system and I still have the records with me. There's still lots of areas need to be addressed and changed for visually impaired people. Many Central Government positions are reserved for one eyed people but nothing in Kerala. 100% blind people are being find not suitable for the jobs and it goes to other categories. Either one eyed people need consider as physically fit or needs special consideration. I was denied jobs because of one eye even I was 2nd rank in merit.

Civil service holders read upto their acquisition of a comfortable rank, thereafter they dont read, even the files tabled. And the result is that the subordinates and aggrieved public suffer a lot. I lost my left eye when I was 2 years old and removed it when I was 10.
Including PSC and KSEB did not do justice to me and other visually impired.
I had to go High Court to bring PSC to do justice.
KSEB didn't want to give me a temporary Sub Engineer post even I answered all questions in an interview and I was an Instructor in Electrical that time.
I had to go through CM, Chief Secretary, High Court, Village Extension department to make some changes in the system and I still have the records with me.
There's still lots of areas need to be addressed and changed for visually impaired people.
Many Central Government positions are reserved for one eyed people but nothing in Kerala.
100% blind people are being find not suitable for the jobs and it goes to other categories.
Either one eyed people need consider as physically fit or needs special consideration.
I was denied jobs because of one eye even I was 2nd rank in merit.

മറ്റുസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെകാര്യം കേരളത്തെക്കാൾ മോശമാണെന്ന് ഏങ്ങനെ പറയ്യാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞു.ഒരിക്കലും ഇല്ല .തമിഴ്നാട്ടിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല iവെറുതെ അറിയാത്ത കാര്യം പറയ്യരുത്' .ഉച്ച ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാതെ സഹായിച്ച വിജയവാഢ വിലേജ് ഓഫിസറെയും രണ്ടുജീവനക്കാരെയും നന്ദിയോടെ ഞാൻ ഓർക്കുന്നു . മറ്റൊരുസുഹൃത്തിന്റെ മകന് വേണ്ടി 2012 പോയത് ഓർക്കുന്നു. മറ്റു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ എന്ന് നിസാരമായി പറയ്യരുത്.രാവിലെ എട്ട് മണിക്ക്' മുമ്പ് റോഡ് വൃത്തിയാക്കും.
