I grew up with the every good boy does fine and face training. It was frustrating for me and I never went far because I would have to stop and say that phrase to figure it out. Your way of showing how the cleft wraps around the g and you go up or down from there is so much easier! Thank you from a 54 year old who has always wanted to play but was intimidated

Ha! When I was at school way back in the 70's, here in the UK like a lot of schools we had recorder lessons. Mr. Vale (a great teacher, used to make as laugh a lot) used to say EGBDF stood for Every Good Boy Deserves Flogging or Football lol.

This brings back memories from music class. I use to play the french horn. I guess if you pick up the piano things will start to come back to you like old times. I can't believe on don't remember any of this IKE!

Edit: we learned to read piano, violine and guitar notes in elementary school as part of basic education. I cant belive I knew it the whole time, and you mate helped me understand it better!
