I always wanted to study martial arts as a child. Growing up black in the south I was ridiculed for my dream. 39 years later, work caused me to have a breakdown. My wife said NOW is the time to do what you've always wanted to do. When I told her what it was she supported me and I found Traditional Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Jutsu. I've studied for 5 1/2 years now and I have gotten my shodan and my dreams have grown. Now I want to teach. I told my teacher when I'm able to teach I will leave him because we can't fill the same space. He was unhappy hearing this but is preparing me to achieve that dream. I found myself...and searching for more. I'm on the warriors path and have found refuge in it. I will not stop...I will not fail...I will inspire others as I was inspired. Thank you Jah and thank you to those who did believe in me. Forward... forward... forward...
Thank you for sharing your path and passion. I similarly started training at a dojo learning Aikido and Daito-Ryu Jujitsu. I grew up learning Shorin-ryu Shorinkan Karate, Now that Im in college I dont get to practice anymore. I also received my shodan. Its great to read about your drive after getting your shodan. For me I only lost passion and drive. My sensei made me feel like my work and practice was never enough. Reading about your drive makes me think about going back, or looking into other martial arts. thank you.

I’m 25 years old. Been dealing with feelings of loneliness, sadness, depression, etc. I’m hard on myself all the time. Was never taught to love myself. Don’t know why I’m sharing this in a RUclips comment section. Guess I don’t feel like I have anyone I can open up to like this in my life. I’m in the process of discovering myself. Trying to learn to be kinder to myself. It’s a hard process, never really sat and processed or really gave myself a chance to feel my emotions. Trying to learn that now at 25 is an experience in itself. I just long for a better life for myself. I don’t know what the point of this rambling is. Guess it’s just stuff I needed to get out of my head and put down somewhere in the hopes maybe someone else can relate to it. I’m just hanging in there. Hopefully I’ll break through to the other side one day and be a happy person.
We can all relate to parts of everything. Negative self talk is quite destructive and your subconscious does not discriminate on what you choose to say to yourself. It will accept and put into place what you feed it. I know at times it can be the most difficult thing when we feel like we are in a hole.
But reframing how you see yourself within your situation will be the most important first step in building a new identity that you can be proud of. What are your goals? What do you wish to accomplish in this life? You are young and have many more moons to see. Discovery is a life long action and it doesn't stop. Each day is a new life and we have to see it that way so we can maximize our abilities.
I appreciate your willingness up open up to us. It means alot and your words are a signal that you are already at the tipping point to retaking control on what it means to be you. I'm proud of you for that. Give yourself the grace you deserve, and keep doing. 💜 ☯️

now I have someone I love, and who loves me in return. It's something so wonderful yet so unanticipated and beautifully worldview shattering in the best way.

This comment brought a tear to my eye
I am 20 years old. For the past 5-6 that I have been sentient I have wanted nothing more than to feel the love that my parents have shown me, to someone else. It has been 15 or so years and I've still never been in a relationship. It hurts. It hurt more to realized that no matter how good a person you are, or how willing you are to change, that you still can't say you've held someone in your arms. Not in the same way you hold your parents, but in the way that marks you as lovers, intertwined so close that you would think they would unravel if separated. I want to feel this one day. This kind of love, and I'm tired of feeling like it's a selfish thing to want to obtain.
How much longer until the time comes when I can finally have the woman of my dreams? 10 months? 10 years? 10 decades? I don't know anymore and I'm losing myself asking myself "when will I"?
I admit. I am a coward, I hide behind these words and hope that a woman will find me as beautiful as I do them. But I realize that a man's beauty comes from the inside. Their inner strength and resolve having been tested. So I'm wonding now.

I often stare into the sky and think of everything going on, each person in view living a completely different life than anyone else, each animal, even each floortile tells a story. This world comes with so many un answered questions, and i used to be so hung up on them. I realise the beauty of life in not knowing the answer to those questions, and leaving everything up to my interpretation. The truth to life is to find happyness within yourself, and live that way forever.

Yesterday, I went to a club and, while drinking, was suddenly hit with constant emotions and thoughts like "why am I even here" and "God made me better than this." I want to go back to the times when it was all genuine.

I may tell this story and may be ridiculed for it because im "just a child" or "foolish and arrogant". But i shall share no matter the response, outcome, or lack their of. For my fresman year of highschool i had played highscholl soccer. I was told "your dream is gone" ir "its too late for you to make a decision". I ended up playing on JV that whole year and barely got any playing time. Looking back on my mistakes, i had put great effort into learning the ways of the game, anything that was available for me to get better, i ended up partaking in. Now, being a sophomore, playing on the starting varsity highschool team, and playing semi-pro off school season, really goes to show, how if you put work into anything you do, and keep an open and strong mindset, you can achieve anything.

Almost 6 years with the girl I thought I would marry. Now she has broken up with me since she is no longer in love with me. We used to talk all day every day and now we don’t at all. Really felt like she was my everything. Now I don’t know what to do or how to go on with all of this change.
I am sorry for the feelings of loss, however this definitely is not the end. I will say that time will be your equalizer. It will not be immediate, but I do believe that you will end up on the other side of this, stronger. I suggest you find time to work on yourself, whether that would be through hobbies or new interests. What has always helped me through heartache has been filling my days with meaningful, measuable progress in some way. Dont think this is the end. Feel what you feel, for you are human - but trust it will get better. I promise.

The greatest thing I've realized all my life and especially lately, is how far happier I am alone and single. Even at from 12 years old to now 17 years old, I prefer to keep it this way. I have experienced some thoughts of negativity and doubt, questioning and overthinking. But to pursue my dreams, I will continue to aim at striving in a path of solitude. To become one with my own personal beliefs and motives, therefore, showing light towards enraging obstacles that attempt to deter my thinking. This music eases my illusory woes and helps with rediscovering the importance of my existence in 2023 AD. May I find peace at the end of my lifespan and reflect once more, as I cross onto the afterlife to become one with the Earth's temporary, but predominant soil.

Hey, it's been a while since you posted this comment but I thought I'd reply anyway. A path of solitude is a path that well only lead you to sadness. Studies have shown that having people you love will give you even more success. Humans were created to be together, to love the sense of community that is created when we come together. One man can't conquer a nation, but a million can. Solitude isn't the answer. You should read Vagabond, the manga that the characters in the art of this video are from. It talks about the idea of solitude and how the main character believes he should be alone and become strong, suppressing his desires. Suppressing ones desires is important if that desire is destructive in nature but humans grow not only through the struggles and hardships they face, but also the love and affection they are shown by their family and by their lover. The message of Vagabond and other similar stories is to find your path, but this doesn't mean abandonment of our nature, in fact it means the opposite. The temptations of our world and degeneracy that is being embraced may lead you to believe that we should abandon every semblance of the life you once lived or the life you have seen others live, but things like loving a woman and building a family are some of the most fulfilling and purposeful things you can ever do. Passing on your legacy. I urge you to reconsider a path of solutide, instead embracing the beauty of brotherhood and family. Thanks for reading I hope I helped someone.
@@hasansyed_ He is still young and does not feel the weight of loneliness as heavily as others. I was like that as well at his age, striving for solitude and fighting against the entire world by my own. Truth be told, while it made me stronger and more independent in the long run (almost 25 now), it made feel extremely lonely and empty at times. Arriving to your dark, empty home at the end of the day with no one caring for you, gets to you, no matter how hard you try to repress these feelings. My biggest mistake was, I think, that since I held myself to such high standards, I isolated myself from many people, but luckily I still have friends from these periods who somehow stuck around, which I am very grateful for. Anyhow, I believe that as he will get older he will come to the realization that we all are indeed just humans who want and need to feel loved, and when you achieve that, as some other commenter said on this video, well, the sky is the limit. It is a dark lonely road, but one day we all will find our light, and when we will, the dark cold rainy days will no longer be so dark, and maybe we will be able to see a rainbow even once in a while.

When i pressed this video i started asking myself what am i doing rn and what im suppost to be doing. I found myself thinking about her and how everything gone south, then i realised maybe it was because of me. But its okay, i think today i will talk with her one last time before i move on. These past few days had been hard even after 1 month im still hurt and healing. The entirety of the time i've think about her. She is a good women but i just let her go so easily. Now after months of questioning myself i know i was the one who broke the relationship. Im a fool and a coward but today i will have the courage to talk to her.

Either which way this ends up, it'll become an experience that you will be able to draw off of in the future. I know it could be difficult to find the best thing to do (whether to stay in the relationship or move on) but ultimately you will still be able to grow and be well. @@Enlightened0ne I declined a full-ride scholarship after my realisation that I chose that major to look cool, and the main problem is when I see my potential in martial arts and talent I just get scared like am I wasting it by not going all in and pondering too much? I don't find anything interesting besides fighting wrestling and mountains that's it
@@Bravo6goindark I can understand the worry with overthinking. This is literally me right now with regards to whether or not I am going to go for my masters. It's difficult but I'm 30, and I got my BS in 2016. I feel similarly to you about time passing but really, you have the ability to take a bit of time to decide what's best. And most people don't go for the thing they first set out to study in general. So you aren't alone or wrong in your actions. I believe some soul searching us in order, but you have to give yourself grace with the idea that it's okay to not know right now.
I put this playlist on today to walk around the park and free my mind of thoughts. Instead, thoughts kept coming. But they were thoughts of purpose. I sat down, took my pen and pad out and wrote what I want to achieve this year. Big and Small.

Going through a very turbulent period in my life. Extreme ups and downs very closely occurring together. Maintaining my composure is incredibly difficult during the rapid transitions and i definitely have failed a few times. I hope this pressure only serves to strengthen my resolve and that I can make it to the day where the skies finally clear.
The pressure will forge you. There will be a time where you get to look back and use these moments as checkpoints to understand that you have made yourself proud. Depending on where you are at on your life you currently have the macro perspective of what you'd like to do, but to get to that point you need to zoom in and look micro in order to do things each day to get you to that goal.
