Metal IS the classical music of today. The majesty of Hallowed Be Thy Name is a metal classic, possibly in the top 15 metal songs.I was born in 70 and i hit the teenage years with this music as the soundtrack to my life. I picked up guitar at 12 and taught myself how to play with the metal from this era and i think it gave me the best guitar playing to aspire to that there possibly could be. I ate, drank, breathed, slept, and smoked metal. I wouldnt trade those times, and especially that music to learn from. It makes me feel like i was a kid hearing this for the first time watching her first time reactions.
I too bought the album upon release in 1982, when I was 12, and it'll be forever my favourite record. Although the years are weighing heavily, if I'm feeling down, depressed and lonely, I play this album and I feel I can once again take on the world, even if only for about 45 minutes!

I was also trained classically as a child, playing the violin in an orchestra but in my late teens I got into Iron Maiden in particular because it was like classic music or even opera on steroids. You can hear and appreciate the immaculate timing, musicianship and skill of the instrumentalists and Bruce’s incredible vocal talents. I ended up playing bass guitar and singing in a metal band that did Iron Maiden and Judas Priest covers so it’s great to hear you guys understanding the whole classic/metal connection.
Ha ha you guys are awesome. You might as well start at the beginning of Maidens catalog, try Phantom of the Opera from their 1980 debut album with original singer Paul Di'anno or live from Ullevi Sweden with Bruce in 2005.

My brother gave me this album when I was 13. It was My first cassette and I was hooked. They were my first concert and I was obsessed with all things iron maiden for many years. Up the irons!
A prisoner condemned, about to be hung, reflecting on life and the situation he's in. Dual lead guitars!! Bruce's epic voice and emotion!! The lyrics. The mood. Bad ass tune. Im 48. Fresno California 1984 march. Selland arena. 7th grade. 5 great friends. A sack of 25 joints. MY FIRST CONCERT. Iron Maiden with Twisted Sister opening. Damn good show!
You should really see Iron Maiden "sign of the cross", live from rock in rio. Then you wil see they also perform on the stage too, and that they are still going strong after decades. It`s a great performance.
How about Blood Brothers, Revelations or The Clansman by IM? If you do clansman try a recent live version because it features Bruce Dickinson...the studio is still great but it had the middle era singer (Blaze Bayley) who wasn't same level as Bruce. Any of those 3 are awesome though. Many others from then as well.
You bet! It’s on our A-list for the next day or so. Thank you @KevinTL. Please keep the suggestions coming our way. We learn and experience together!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘😈🔥🔥🔥🤯👊🙏🏽❤️
THE COMMENT ABOUT MOZART JUST BLEW MY MIND!!!! I have been a Maiden fan for years and years and in those years I have loved introducing people to Maiden if they are virgins to the band. In all my years I have never heard it described as well as you guys did, just outstanding you blew my mind and I hope it's for me ok to use that example in the future. You just landed yourself a new subscriber! Cheers to the both of you
WOW love your reaction. :D Iron Maiden is still the best band in the world. There are soooo many great songs you can't tell. It is a long way for you to go. ;) How about a song from the last album? "The Book Of Souls" And yes it is the album name and the song that I mean. Have fun and thumb up. :)
@@Kel.N.RichReactions I dont think so. I was just browsing youtube and came across it. Where are your guys from? If you want I can send you some great songs although I know you get a million suggestions by others. I know some more obscure bands and I know all the popular ones too. I was a musician a long time ago, but now I sell luxury real estate in Manhattan, NY.
Love your reaction.. I was hip to this band and others like it during the early '80s and recognized their brilliance. imagine listening to this music when it first came out and using mind altering drugs as a teenager! I was chasing that point in time for so long. Now that I'm almost 50 yo., I'm wise enough to realize that I can't re-create those days, I've come to accept it and appreciate the music and time for what it was and can never be again. Thank you for playing and reacting to a classic.
Dude I'm 50 in August and everything in your statement was me to a tee except I still like to dip a toe in the mind altering substances lol peace brother!!!
Already enough reaction video's with this kind of generic bronie crap. "NiGhTWiSh, SaBaToN, pOwErWoLf..." Polka crap for snowflakes and obese virgins with glasses.
Bruce Dickinson is an INCREDIBLY gifted vocalist, his live performance of this song was even better, one of my all time favorite metal performers, he’s Mount Rushmore material
I absolutely loved your reaction guys. Especially Kel's. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you enjoy this song. This, along with hundreds of other songs is why Iron Maiden is my all-time favorite band. You should really see them live if you can. They put on such an amazing show in concert. They are currently on tour in the U.S. I will be seeing them in Phoenix, Az in September. The last time I saw them, I drove to Vegas from Tucson because I thought they weren't going to be anywhere near me on that tour. Please do When the Wild Wind Blows from their 2010 album The Final Frontier. I don't know if you know this, but Bruce Dickinson (singer) is also a world-class fencer and a commercial pilot. He flies their Boeing 747 when they are on tour. Before every show, he puts on roller blades and skates around the parking lot of either the venue or the hotel while singing the setlist to stay in shape both vocally and physically.
Welcome to the world of Iron Maiden. They have a huge catalog of songs that you can choose from that you can't go wrong with. Songs like fear of the dark Blood Brothers and of course one that's not played very often is a song called the cross and Wasted Years. Iron Maiden longevity is due to the awesome song writing of Steve Harris the bassist and vocals by Bruce Dickinson I'm glad you enjoyed it this is the first time I have watched your show and I am a fan. Keep On Keepin On
I love watching you guys. When you think that number of the beast was released in 81 and it hasn't aged at all you realise how incredibly talented these guys are. I have been listening to Maiden for over 40 yrs and it is so good to see people who have just discovered the react the same way I did all those yrs ago. Up the irons. The most amazing band that ever walked the earth!!!!!
back in the 80’s, right before the very first performance of this song, Bruce told crowd "here’s a little song we made recently"...... 7 mins. later, everybody was just STUNNED standing there :D:D:D
"It's like classical arpeggios on steroids." Love that. I really like that Kel comes from a different musical background. I think it is cool when competent, engaging people can throw in a bit of technical expertise and educate us along the way. Don't be afraid to do that.
You two have soooo much fun doing this. I'm glad I discovered "reaction videos" for the first time yesterday June 15th, 2019 by accident and next thing you know I'm watching these type of videos from all over the place for over 10 hours yesterday. Thanks so much Kel-n-Rich.
You guys are adorable. This is my all-time favorite Maiden song. Maiden was on my "bucket list" until I FINALLY saw them in Houston in 2017. Transcendental. Then... I just saw them the SECOND time in Houston this September. I can die happy. They are unpararalled. Ive seen EVERYBODY except Zeppelin, The Who and Floyd. If y'all ever get a chance to see Maiden. Go.
Guys. Check out Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, and Jason Becker if y'all want to hear ASTOUNDING instrumental guitar. If y'all want to literally have your jaws hit the floor check out Andy James. Thank me later. And Kel... Track down Je tamine by JOE STUMP. It is one of the most amazing "neoclassical” instrumental pieces I've ever heard. I have thousands of songs by hundreds of guitarists of all genres but the 5 artists I just mentioned are MUST listens. Y'all can thank me later. Oh for shits and giggles Tony MacAlpine is also a clasically trained pianist. Becker was on his way to super stardom before he was diagnosed with ALS at 20. He's almost 50 now and can only communicate with his eyes yet he STILL composes incredible compositions. All of these guys are clearly "metal" guitarists but omg. Their instrumental compositions are astounding. Have fun discovering these guys.
Great reaction mates! THE album that really put Iron Maiden on the map. Bruce's voice just allowed to to go all out with all the melodies they had in mind. He has both the high notes and the raw sound, in addition to insane endurance and legendary stage presence. A very important step forwards in the nwobhv. Looks like I'll have to subscribe ;) 355. I will say, you got an awesome lady. Kel, cheers to you! Yes, the boots look great indeed.... :) (I do hope that I'm not mistaking your names). Btw Rich, I didn't catch the entirety of your tattoo. I assume it's הבה נקבל עלינו and then I can't see the rest. So "Let's accept upon us...", and another illusive word. Don't worry, I'll lurk your videos from now on to get upon the rest ;) *Suggestion section* Btw, I'm glad to see that you offer her a good course of progression. Starting at the beginning of "meal" (More or less), or with easier bands to digest like Dream Theater. I do hope that you will both explore some of the darker genres/sub genres, which are too numerous to count. But as with most things, continuing slowly if the best strategy. I will, however, suggest one song from my favorite band of all time, which is not too rough even for those who are just starting this journey: Septicflesh - Dark Art. ruclips.net/video/9AxCV0N35x8/видео.html Well, I would actually suggest "Portrait of a Headless Man" from the same album (Codex Omega. 2017. Perhaps their best, although my favorite is Sumerian Daemons). But Dark Art is a song that not many pay attention to in reactions... Well, except for Drop Z Spilling the Tea (Who is an angel. Really, you guys will love her). Plus, if looking at it without bias, in might very well be one of the greatest songs they have written. So I would suggest either Dark art or Portrait of a Headless Man. Although my favorite song, if from the time they were Septic Flesh (Before communion, which marked a new state of music after they took a break and became Septciflesh). And it is "Virtues of the Beast". Superb melody that I can never get enough of... They play symphonic death metal, but they also have some Gothic elements, slightly akin to Therion (Especially in their first 5 albums). But the difference between them and most other bands who use "symphonic" instruments, is that Speticflesh does EVERYTHING on their own: 1. Christos, the guitarist, studded composition. So in their albums, they play and record with a full, live orchestra and he is the one writing all of the music. So while many other bands have to rely on the orchestras to write their parts, Christos is the one behind everything. 2. Seth, his brother and the vocalist, studied fine arts. He is creating all the albums covers and artistic designs for the band. In fact, you can order an art piece from him (For about 300$, which is nothing compared to what you receive). There are tons of huge bands who bought their albums covers from him (Moonspell, I think all their albums are featuring Seth's art lol). Looks for Spiros Antoniou for his website, he is very creative in his works. And his growlings, they are some of the deepest and most raw. He is a great death metal vocalist. 3. In live shows they really give 100% to the experience itself: They play as hard as they can, Seth is repeating "My friends" and "Are you ready motherfuckers" around 80000 times each show... But the points is, that they don't just play the music. They really want the crowd to engage in everything. They come from a view that you know the music, that now you want to really connect with the band members themselves. So this is what they aim for. But nonetheless, they nails the songs.
I've been listening to music for more than 55 years and you can imagine all the fabulous bands this timescale encompasses, but if there's a better band than Iron Maiden with a better singer than Bruce Dickinson then I've not heard them, simply fabulous group of musicians.
Iron Maiden is doing a North American tour this summer. In Vancouver in September. I was lucky enough to see Number of the Beast ,Piece of Mind and Powerslave tours when I was young.

The amazing thing about Iron Maiden is there are 2 guitarists playing those riffs together in unison or in harmony most of the time, they were incredible guitarists, and then throw the solos in there, you got why they were so, so , good.
The first thing my Guitar teacher back in highschool told us(after, no metallica! lol) was "Everything u hear in heavy metal bands, mozart/beethoven have already played...they just didnt have distortion and amps." So very true, when u look at the musical notes.

La Kingpin We are on it!
@@kelligafter502 you 2 are legends! Can't wait for your next reaction to any maiden tune, take your pick, you still have about 180 to choose from!
La Kingpin awwww what a wonderful comment. Thank you so much for being you and bringing your light and love to this channel. YES about 180 to go and then we will all find other amazing tunes to help encourage our growth! You have made awesome comments and contributions, thank you for being you and for continuing to keep this channel full of metal and musical joy!
I saw dream theater a few years ago in Milwaukee. Epic show. Talk about music on steroids. Unbelievable musicians. Have fun and lets us know your reaction to the show
John Quinn Thank you so much! We will!
I like her, she is very smart. Keep rocking you two!
My brother gave me this album when I was 13. It was My first cassette and I was hooked. They were my first concert and I was obsessed with all things iron maiden for many years.
Up the irons!
Michael Moran me too mate. First concert, Kings Hall, Belfast 1990.
Mozart on steriods? In the late 80s, early 90s, there was a neoclassical movement. Vinnie Moore was a big one. Check some of that out.
I agree. I love that performance.
Definitely the live version in Rio
My favorite song from that concert and I LOVE that concert!
Thank you all, we have in on our spreadsheet and we are working out way to them all!
First album I bought was number of the beast n 1986 greets from Liverpool England
Many others from then as well.
lm jokeing its grear to see u into it kell love the boots was meant to soubd like i were having ago i liked the reation
dmac80 We are making our way to them all!!!!! AHAHAHAHA!
Without a doubt, one of the five best songs in the Iron Maiden catalog.
Kel would love The Nomad by Iron Maiden
You bet! It’s on our A-list for the next day or so. Thank you @KevinTL. Please keep the suggestions coming our way. We learn and experience together!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘😈🔥🔥🔥🤯👊🙏🏽❤️
Thanks to this suggestion I checked out The Nomad. Another Maiden song that hooked me in. Incredible.
@@Kel.N.RichReactions Did you forget 😢
mordor666 Thank you so much, we have it on the spreadsheet and we are working our way to it 😊
One of my All Time Favorite Iron Maiden songs! A fan for over 35 years!! Up the IRONS!! 🙌🏻
Seeing them for the 12th time in July
God bless you both nice couple . rockkkkkkk onnnnnnnn
hallowed be thy name is a popular maiden song. possibly the most famous. some people consider it the best maiden song.
Did you find our reaction to HBTN?
@@Kel.N.RichReactions I dont think so. I was just browsing youtube and came across it. Where are your guys from? If you want I can send you some great songs although I know you get a million suggestions by others. I know some more obscure bands and I know all the popular ones too. I was a musician a long time ago, but now I sell luxury real estate in Manhattan, NY.
you two are awesome :) cheers and Up the Irons!
TrooperLFC Thank you so much!
As a classical trained musician Kel would enjoy Nightwish. Try Ghost love score from Wacken 2013 live.
Or The Poet and the Pendolum form wembley
Or romanticide
Having a floorgasam already
Already enough reaction video's with this kind of generic bronie crap.
"NiGhTWiSh, SaBaToN, pOwErWoLf..." Polka crap for snowflakes and obese virgins with glasses.
de novo essa música ?! cansou isso já, NW is not only GLC
Bruce Dickinson is an INCREDIBLY gifted vocalist, his live performance of this song was even better, one of my all time favorite metal performers, he’s Mount Rushmore material
Fun fact, this song was about Guy Fawkes, on his way to the gallows for attempting to blow up the houses of Parliment, known as the Gunpowder Treason
I never knew that, turns out you do learn something new every day
I absolutely loved your reaction guys.
Please react to *Iron Maiden - Stranger in a strange land* 🤘😃
One of my favs
lets not forget Prowler, that opening riff is brutal
Phenomenal song. Everything about it is totally spot on.
Kel is super-hot. I just had to say that.
One-Eye Thank you so much for saying that. 😉
I agree.... Loving that skirt!
She definitely is.
Keep On Keepin On
hey guys I'm a new subscriber and just wanna say great reactions I suggest Night Wish Ghost Love Score Live. Keep up the awesome reactions!!
Brandon Myers Thanks so much for subscribing! We did last night and it was AMAZNG! Thanks for commenting 😊
You need to try Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. Just as good!
Bruce Wallin they reacted to it prior to this one
back in the 80’s, right before the very first performance of this song, Bruce told crowd "here’s a little song we made recently"...... 7 mins. later, everybody was just STUNNED standing there :D:D:D
Turn her mic down please.
"It's like classical arpeggios on steroids." Love that. I really like that Kel comes from a different musical background. I think it is cool when competent, engaging people can throw in a bit of technical expertise and educate us along the way. Don't be afraid to do that.
Holy voice bruce dickinson
You two have soooo much fun doing this. I'm glad I discovered "reaction videos" for the first time yesterday June 15th, 2019 by accident and next thing you know I'm watching these type of videos from all over the place for over 10 hours yesterday. Thanks so much Kel-n-Rich.
My favorite Maiden song. Loved watching you both enjoy it!
Jeff Burnett Thank you so much for the encouragement!
My first time seeing Iron Maiden live August 1981 at the Long Beach Arena (seen them every tour since) !!!
I think, Iron maiden's best song what they ever did and i do understand that completely!
I think Kel would love a band like Savatage. When the crowds are gone is a fantastic song that combines classical music with progressive metal
Tonight!!!
Especially since Savatage morphed into Trans-Siberian Orchestra!
Don't worry, I'll lurk your videos from now on to get upon the rest ;)
*Suggestion section*
Btw, I'm glad to see that you offer her a good course of progression. Starting at the beginning of "meal" (More or less), or with easier bands to digest like Dream Theater. I do hope that you will both explore some of the darker genres/sub genres, which are too numerous to count. But as with most things, continuing slowly if the best strategy.
I will, however, suggest one song from my favorite band of all time, which is not too rough even for those who are just starting this journey:
Septicflesh - Dark Art.
ruclips.net/video/9AxCV0N35x8/видео.html
Well, I would actually suggest "Portrait of a Headless Man" from the same album (Codex Omega.
But the difference between them and most other bands who use "symphonic" instruments, is that Speticflesh does EVERYTHING on their own:
Looks for Spiros Antoniou
for his website, he is very creative in his works.
But nonetheless, they nails the songs.
squashedeyeball Wow thank you for ALL of that! Fantastic and so well said. Much appreciated.... we are Uping the Irons.... 😉
@@kelligafter502 Cheers to you mates! I love your passion and love for the music.
squashedeyeball right back at ya! 🎸🎼🎹🎺🎷🎉
30 years as å Maiden fan. Check out Nightwish, Ghost love score. Live Wacken 2013. Amazing
Kris Patt awesome to have you here man! Thank you, we just listened to it and posted it! Thank you so much for taking the time to suggest, we thrilled and honoured to be able to give Nightwish fans another home 😊
@@kelligafter502 Nice to see your reaction 😉 My first Nightwish concert was in 2003, and since then ive seen them alot. Fantastic, down to earth persons with music that moves me. Love it 😁
Kris Patt Thank you so much, stay tuned for more!!!!
They are also one of the friendliest bands out there. Met them several times and every time they have been true gentlemen.
iron maiden -the rime of the ancient mariner
arnaldo tanta Done 😊
If you EVER get a chance to see Maiden, DO IT! I've seen them 5x and they are incredible. I've been a fan of them since I was like 15.
Such a great song, it blows my mind. Thank you
You two are the coolest couple! I just love watching you!!!
The amazing thing about Iron Maiden is there are 2 guitarists playing those riffs together in unison or in harmony most of the time, they were incredible guitarists, and then throw the solos in there, you got why they were so, so , good.
"I just want to kick shit over" - Kel 2019.
The first thing my Guitar teacher back in highschool told us(after, no metallica! lol) was "Everything u hear in heavy metal bands, mozart/beethoven have already played...they just didnt have distortion and amps." So very true, when u look at the musical notes.
I barely know and I already love Kel Kelkkkk I love Iron Maiden, thanks.
Been a maiden fan since the 80s seen them plenty of times and love seeing peoples reactions to them. I really think maiden can win anybody over. They are the best band ever in my humble opinion!
In Brazil we love Iron Maiden.
Take the time to simply WATCH the videos of the more recent shows - when they are working with three guitars !! Maiden's history/story is huge also. Dave and Adrian are truly amazing, but adding Jannick into it is simply magic ! oh and then there's Ed Force One & who flies it !!
My favorite all-time Iron Maiden song. Bruce's first album with the band. Drum part is killer (Clive Burr was awesome). Maiden forever!
