These Guys at Sonic are Great I mean in this day in age all Companies should be doing Tutorials like this Especially Online retailers that don't have the Luxury of personal Service I really dig that Thanks guys
Shout out to the NEWBS! We were all there at the beginning. And videos like these taught me so much. So glad you guys make videos. Wired up four TXX-BDC2-12s dual 4 at 2 ohms. On an APCLE30001.D.
🛑I had this same issue with my system, I solved it by adjusting a setting in the head unit, the 'subwoofer level' was at zero, which I thought was similar to bass boost so I didn't adjust it, but after contacting kicker because I thought it was my amp, I was told that it's not a bass boost and I should turn it up and re-adjust the amp gains and it worked flawlessly.
I bought a nice used custom box with a massive audio hippo sub. Took it home it sounded like crap. Removed sub and it was wired crazy. Wired it up correctly and it was violent smooth bass!
let me be as straight forward as I can be, I got a clarion MCD360 3 way crossover, in the subwoofer section there is a switch labeled PHASE which can be set to either 0° or 180°. Please explain and possibly demonstrate the use of that phase switch.
+Dane Brown ohh yeah it just reverses the polarity...play a rock/punchy bass song and switch it to 180 the woofer will suck in...but if its 1 woofer or multi. in sep. chambers it wont make a sound difference
Believe it or not the sub phase can be out of sequence of the rest of you stereo system. Meaning the sound takes a bit longer to catch up to the rest of the sound coming out of the other speakers, so you flip the switch in order to work in sequence with the rest of the system. Almost as if you reverse polarity for the speakers. This is beneficial when using multiple amps and different speakers firing in different directions. You can play with the phase switch on each amp to achieve the best sound from the stereo system.
Alan, I agree with what you said, important when someone is new to learning something that you show them respect as we were all there once. But let’s not forget that if you are the person that is new you should show respect to those who taught you something new. For instance, let’s say you were completely new to fabrication, you learned a ton from someone else’s RUclips channel, and then started making your own videos showing the same exact thing…. but without giving a proper shout out. That wouldn’t be showing very much respect would it? I think it’s important in this small community for us to all show respect. Something for you to think about…
i had mine hooked up this one time and i notice the same thing and i just switched the main output wires around and they really made a difference. btw they are 2 12 inch l5 dual 4s
I try to help people in the comments sometimes that haven't had a reply to their questions. Car audio can be difficult to help people with just by communicating on RUclips. It's hard to diagnose someone's problem when they cant relay the information properly and dont understand what your saying. I try tho because I've been there myself so..
@@_bauer thanks for the kind words. I looked up your amp and speakers. Very nice stuff but to be honest with you😬 I would have bought 2 Rockford fosgate p3d410 and a pioneer GM-D9701 and saved $860🤷♂️. The t1d210's you have are 2ohm DVC. Wired parallel you going to get .5 ohm load off amp. Your amp isn't rated for a .5 ohm load. You should have bought 2 Rockford fosgate t1d410's. Wired in parallel to get 1ohm from amp. 1600rms@1ohm is what I seen rated for your amp. You should be wired in series with your current subs. Bad part! You only going to get 700rms @ 4ohm from your amp. That's why its important to correctly match amp and subs. So you don't waste money on expensive amps and subs that you can't use to their full potential. I'll leave a separate comment about your radio 👍
@@_bauer Ok, your stock radio is probably holding you back. Idk anything about a stock 2020 Honda accord radio but a aftermarket radio would better. I'd recommend a pioneer double din. One that has (NETWORK MODE) and Navigation and steering wheel control capabilities. (LOC) LINE OUTPUT CONVERTER I'm guessing. Again, dont know much about them. I've never used one because I always use aftermarket radio with amplifier and subs. As far as hardly any sound from your system. It could be a number of things. I would make sure that your wired correctly first. You may have mixed some speaker positive and negative terminals the wrong way by accident. I do it sometimes. I would go to a shop and ask them what they think. I'd recommend selling your amp or subs to get the the proper amplifier/subwoofer combination. Your probably better off selling the speakers. If your going to have 2 DVC subwoofers. It's best to go with 2 4ohm DVC subwoofers if your amp lowest impedance load is 1ohm. If your going to use 1 2ohm DVC subwoofer. Then get a 2ohm subwoofer DVC and wire in parallel to a 1 ohm load
@@_bauer you may have a factory amplifier from Honda in your car. If so, that could be why your system isn't working properly. I just remembered you talked about your box. If you have a trunk instead of a hatchback style car. A sealed box is probably best for a trunk. Ported is usually for open cabin spaces. Like the back of a SUV or hatchback car. Did you buy a proper size box for your subwoofers? If you dont have the proper air space for your subwoofers. That can affect the amount of sound you get out of them.
I've got my gains, and bass boost dials turned all the way up on a 1500W BOSS amp, hooked up to a single 400W Kicker Sub, and it works, but hardly kicks like it should. I wired it through my factory speaker wiring, but I feel like my factory wiring is somehow limiting the output of my amp.
But you know another thing is that he might have his woofers in a sealed box and most people don't know certain speakers do not perform well and seal boxes I always recommend ported because when you build a sealed enclosure it has to be the right size specs for that speaker and most people just buy a box and just throw some speakers in there just to have sounds and then come to you the technician and ask you why is it not right first of all you got this big ass amplifier on two 10 inch subs in a sealed box and is going to sound okay but you get used to it a lot faster and that's a lot of people problem I recommend Port it because you don't need as much power they can take the power but the sound is just more dynamic when you can move air some people just don't know what they have a lot of times and a lot of people be having good equipment but sometimes I have to be honest it'd be alot of the shops just trying to make the quick dollar instead of explaining and giving a customer what they want instead of just throwing something in their car most people will pay for what they want but you give somebody some b******* and put it in the car and then you get responses like you are receiving today and I'm not saying all shop but it's a whole lot of them this just about the dollar instead of the love other music and the installation game I never said don't make your money but if you know this speaker and this amplifier is some b******* why sell it to the customer unless they say I want something cheap
I have very low volumen from my subwoofer. I connected from the factory stereo the sound to the aftermarket amp by the rear left speaker terminals (high input connection). I think I have to check the polarity of that connection and benchmark the results. also after that check the polarity of the outputted signal from the amp to the subwoofer to see if I solve the issue. ALSO maybe I can fix it connecting both the L and R inputs because I only connected the L. If success I will show my results here after that.
@@0bslump629 Not at all. Sometimes like when the car is hot the sound is loud. In the cold mornings the sound is low. I think is the ground. The bolt not well tight. in the heat that connection tend to tight and in the cold it gets loosen. I will connect ground also to a second bolt what a mess.
How to test phase. Get a double or triple A battery, touch positive end of battery to positive of wire and negative to negative of wire. If both speakers pop out, congrats, you're in phase. If not, then your not. Dont hold it there for too long cause you could risk overheating the coil.
My sub is not hitting hard. Mtx road thunder. And I have pioneer gm 962 760w amp with pioneer deh-150 mp deck. Sub sounds super quiet. Barely hits even all the way up. Checked all my wires too... plz help. Installed in 94 dodge 1500
Mine is doing the "out of phase" so I wired everything up but used some wires that didnt come with the kit, which is very skinny like factory stock skinny, and I wired both my 6x9's with that wire to my 400watt boss amp. Could it be that I didnt used Speaker Wire? Or is something actually wired wrong
My kenwood single din player,on the rca output for the subwoofer there is no sound coming out,but wen i tried the rear n front output i get sound....checked all my wires n fuses and everything okay
i wired my 2 speakers wrong, 3:52 is how they should be right? Amp: Phoenix Gold R5.0:1 Octane R 5.0:1 Class A/B MonoBlock Amplifier Subs: 2x Rockford Fosgate P210S4 Punch Stage 2 10" 4-ohm subwoofer Rear Speakers: JBL Concert Series 9631 6" x 9" 3-Way Speakers w/Grilles Front Speakers: Factory Speakers Stereo: Pioneer DEH-S4100BT in Dash CD AM/FM Receiver amp is connected to subs only (im new to this so go easy)
Thanks this video helped me a lot. My subs p3 Rockford fosgate where not wired right then I wired them how they are suppose to and now I get strong bass.
I had one 10" and an amp and it hit really hard so I decided to upgrade the amp and sub and get two 10" subs and they barely hit ik my wiring is good what could be the issue
I have a 740 watt pioneer amp and a kickercvr 12 and ik I wired it right at times it hits hard perfect other times you can tell when the bass drops it just gets quieter but not like distorted or nothing just quiter and theres a dramatic difference my amps not going into protect or seem to be getting hot it's wired at 2 ohms ATM I tried wiring at 1 ohm and 4 ohms and all does the same thing no matter how I wire it so I bought a 2.5 farad capacitor thinking that was maybe the problem tho it's stopped my head lights from dimming the bass still does the same thing and had no effect on the amp it remains anywhere between 13.8 volts to 14.2 so ik its not the voltage going threw I have 8 gauge wire going from the amp to speaker and the rest power ground wire are all 4 gauge I don't believe it needs anything bigger for a 740 watt amp tho it is older still I don't see it putting out any more than 1200 watts (and yes my ground wire is grounded good sanded it down to bare metal and have 14 bolt that the ground wire screws on) any suggestions on why this is happening?
i got a Question to i just bought 2 skar 10 sdr series subs in the box and got them hooked up right they work just fine on low volume but when i turn the volume up they start popping like there's not a good ground or not good power output idk? do you know what could be wrong
I just installed a JBL BASSPRO HUB in my subaru crosstrek and this looks like what I am experiencing. Can this problem occur using a single sub with right and left high level inputs? I could really use some advice.
I have 2 12” in a box like that, but there’s only one area to plug in my speaker wires on the outzide when my 2 10” had 2 seperate thingz for the speaker wires, do I uze both pair of wires into the one connection that my new 12’z have or just 1 pair of wirez
My question is how to get bass where I like it. I do not like the very low deep electronic bass. I want it to sound like being in front of a live band. Like a hard-hitting PA speaker. Many years ago I had 2 EV15b in a TL606 enclosure in a large SUV. Loved the bass sound, but do not have the room for even one 15 inch speaker and also know the sound can be tuned up using the right enclosure, but not sure of where to start. I am guessing I need something tuned to about 65 - 80 instead of 35hz. I may play with the subsonic filter to limit deep bass but not sure of that approach.
Can lack of power make my subs over heat and start smelling? I have 2 batteries 1 is a regular battery in the front and the other in a marine battery in the back.
I got a problem i hooked my brothers stereo up to my car. Same kind of car 2006 scion xb. I also installed tweeters, connected to the front door speakers. But my 10 inch cerwin vegas wont hit. Just the the right one. Wats going on??
I had a lanzar opti 2000 wired at 1 ohm. It was loud without any type of bass boost. I order a sundown sae 3000 watt amp. When I was tunning the amp it doesn't hit hard unless I use the bass boost. I dont understand what changed? I shouldn't have to use the bass boost.do u believe there might be an problem with my rca or my loc

theres no way you could overheat a cold with an AA or AAA battery. not enough voltage even if you left it on for hours. the coil barely draws any power or current at 1.5v
Alrighty I’m confused now . How should I be wiring my skar VD-10’s paired with a skar RP-1200 ? I was assuming parallel but doesn’t seem to thump as it should sound 4ohm to 1 ohm in the box . Can someone send me which diagram to confirm
+hittin-low_150db+ Yeah I know how box rise work. But i just want them to do a video on it lol. But the thing I don't know if theirs such a thing as box drop, I hear some people talk about box drop but really haven't seen it
Yeah one of my friends said he had 2 Sundown ZV4 12's wired to 1 ohm, and the impedance would drop to 0.4 ohms when playing. I didn't believe him at first
I have a sundown audio zv5 18" sub and I have 8 gauge wires for speaker wire. My amp is a sundown sae2000d so it definitely cannot shove the speaker anywhere close to max. It use to be extremely loud then while it was playing it seemed to loose the output it had. No power lose at all. Wiring is still the same at 1 ohm. Why does it seem like it has a higher resistance?
I have 2 8w7ae wired series circuit. What's the bet amp to push them where I'm going to get the most power but also the best sound quality. I have a 500/1 slash. But it's older one and I want to upgrade. What amp should I get ?
My question is two rgbs comes from my sub to two line outs (red and white) from my amp. But my mate said I only need to wire one line to sub not two? White to left channel of sub which is mono anyway..is this right. Only that I tend to find my sub cuts out at quieter levels? Thanks..steve
I get output that ain’t bad but I have 2 Memphis 10’s on a 750w dual channel amp and in my brothers car with his wiring they work great in my car with my wiring they aren’t that great. I have to use fade to get them to hit and so with the fade it only hits on 1 side of the car. I don’t have a RCA on my aftermarket 300$ pioneer hesd unit. I used a line output converter.
I need some help. PLEASE I just installed 2 12 inch subwoofers P3 rockford and a rockford 1200x1 amplifier and I correctly wired them down to 2 ohms each and down to 1 ohms to amplifier. yet I still not hearing much unless I purposely turn the gain all the way up and the punch eq on it all the way up. But the manual that it came with tells me not to do any of that. If I turn it down below level 5 gain I can barely hear the subwoofer. I checked fuses, wires to the subwoofers and got 1 ohms to amplifier. Also the bass knob that it came with did absolutely nothing to help with the bass, same with the settings within my stereo that allow me to turn up the subwoofer. .5/10 if rating on a bass scale.
I just bought a phoenix gold amp and sub stinger wire kit. Custom made box. Alpine ilx-w650 radio, and it sounds like shit. I don't understand the settings on the amp or radio. It's deff wired right. But the ground wire spot sux, and idk. Need help! Please
Bro plug your phone straight into the amp with a headphone jack to RCA adapter. If it sounds fine your amp is fine . Pull your radio out and plug a new RCA into the back and run it over your seats to the trunk and see if you get Sound. no need to hide it all under the carpet yet until you verified your new cable is good. if all else fails your radio is probably fucked
So I hooked up hyfonics 3000 mono block amp to 2 twelves gravity g5 subs and when I hook both of my RCA‘s to the amp it seems like it cancels it out but if I pull one of the RCA‘s I hear some bass But then also my lights start flickering and then the amp goes into protecting mode
hello sonic.i have a question about stiffening caps, actually I got a few. 1 how does a cap discharge power. does it only discharge what's needed or the full load of what it's rated for. 2 I have a 500 wat alpine amp but I'm still getting the whole dimming n amperage drop and I have a 4 farad sound stream. I'm aware of the rule of thumb of 1 farad per 1k wats so i was also wondering if I hooked it to my amp would I potentially damage my amp. don't kno if it makes a difference but I have my subs wired at 2ohms. thank you for your time and insight it's very much appreciated.
I need help with something, I'm having a problem with when I increase my volume on my live sound system, the bass doesn't keep up, hard to explain.. I have a 18 inch sub and 1 15 inch top, a simple RadioShack pa speaker and a jbl 2269h driver in a box of course. Do you have any idea why my bass decreases a little the louder I go?
okay so I have a question I have a rare vintage early 90s 18 inch Rockford Fosgate xlc I believe it's 8 ohm at 600 watt Max I'm pushing it with a boss 2400w amp before I switched and wired it to bridge mode it would not heat up the amplifier the amplifier always remained really cool down but when I went to Bridget I noticed that it was really heating up my amplifier why is that
I got a problem i have all installed but i noticed a big problem in a small component of my amplifier ( this is an amp that is full range and lowpass filter) and i use it for bass well while playing sometimes i have loaded my car with bags ect and i stoped hearing low freq so i noticed( that switch for low filter may be damage what can i do ? Can i get a spray or should i send it for repair its an old amp .500watts
Need more info... What type of music do you listen to? Is it going in a prefabricated box or are you building your own? Sealed or ported? It's a good idea to learn what are called the t/s parameters of the driver you wish to purchase. It seems overwhelming at first, but it will help you to select the driver you want for your listening preference. It's simply the mechanical properties of that particular woofer. Hope this helps man! 😀👍
+Nathaniel Renner lol Thanks man, It's a slot ported enclosure tuned to 34hz, I listen to all types of music, but mostly Deep house, the subs specs - 8 DC Resistance (Re)3 ohmsVoice Coil Inductance (Le)0.94 mHMechanical Q (Qms)11.86Electromagnetic Q (Qes)0.87Total Q (Qts)0.81Compliance Equivalent Volume (Vas)1.19 ft.³BL Product (BL)9.7 TmDiaphragm Mass Inc. +²ºº²GHOST²ºº³ I want good sq, I don't want it to rattle my cars panels loose lol, I want to know if they sound good and musical, I've had high powered pavement pounders in the past, but my alternator and battery wasn't up to the task, only 105ah combined
+Craig Martin lol giving the qts of that particular driver being so high (.81 if I read it correctly) in theory and my experienced opinion that driver would be better suited for a sealed enclosure. The rule of thumb I have always followed is this: subwoofers with a "low" qts, say .35 and lower are better suited for a ported enclosure, qts with .36 to .50 usually perform well in either sealed, ported, or band pass applications, and anything higher than .5 usually is a sealed only type of driver. The Xmax on that subwoofer is very small. Xmax is the maximum length (in mm) that the subwoofer cone can travel pole to pole (top to bottom)
i have a kicker dx1000.1 on a t1 10 and when i turn it up to a certin level the amp turns off then turns back on and before the stereo would shut off to but now its just been the amp any idea
i brought a Samsung surround 3k system but my subwoofer is not working i think it may have a short in it ,it is a 2016 model how can i buy the Samsung wiring for my subwoofer
I have my amp and sub it was booming in my dodge charger but got a differnt car hooked it up to my dodge dart and it sounds boomy just not as it was in my dodge charger and everything hooked up right
If the box has two terminal cups just get enough speaker wire so it reaches positive to positive and negative to negative on the box. Then add one positive wire and add one negative wire out of that any terminal to the amp should drop to 2ohm
[• •] ====[• •] positive to positive negative to negative on the box and then get on positive from one terminal and one negative from the other and run it to the amp AmpAMP
Hi is there a link to wiring 4 dual 2 ohm speakers to 1 ohm....amp is 1 ohm stable 2k watts....speakers are rockford fosgate p3 d3...12 inch....any guidance much appriciated
Hey I have a question okay I got a nvx jad 1200 at dyno test it does 1300 rms certified I had a nvx vcw 15 1000 rms dual 2 ohm hooked up and hitting good but I took the sub out put it in a different car with a cheap power acoustik rz1 2500 only rated to be 2 ohm stable at dyno test of 630 rms at 2 ohm but it runs at 1 ohm no problem so that nvx 15 dint last 40 mins with that amp and it blew so I’m guessing either that amp does way more then 1300 percent me at 1 ohm or I have an electrical problem with my nvx amp that causes it to not run the potential wattage but I have a a second battery and the power wire I know is good power stay at 14.0 volts so could a bad ground cause the amp not to reach its potential
Ok so if it’s not a polarity problem and if the subwoofers sometimes are at full power and then other times it’s really weak....what then is the problem
I need some serious help with my subs. I have no clue what settings or what settings I should set my amp at. I'm so lost. My aftermarket head unit has all these settings on them, and idk if I need them on or not, and idk what any of the dials and switches do on my amp. If you could help me, please get a hold of me.
+Sonic Electronix I checked it out.. it seems tuned way too high for my taste...i need something tuned around 32-35 after displacement..and 16 square inches of port per sub for two tens..do you sell anything like that? They want $200-$300 for a custom box
question> i have a 1k watt amp and 1k watt subwoofer at 2 ohms at the same brand and 4 guage wire and when i turn up the volume the amp starts to smoke what is wrong???
I had my car subs they where working just fine until I installed a 4channel amp to my car door speakers but now my subwoofer dont even move.what could of caused it?
I recently switched out my old audiopipe 1500 apcl for a skar rp 2000.1 to go on my single 15 inch evl and the new skar amp seems to not have the output the cheap audiopipe has I then rehooked up the old amp and everything is normal and loud! sent the amp back to skar to test it they said its fine when I got it back I hooked it back up and to no surprise the same result the audiopipe is louder! this shouldn't be I went around with a dmm and everything tests fine im stuck!
Took apcl 1500 out. And then akl i did was lay the rp2000 in the same exact location, wired it up, and i don't get nearly half the bass response as i do from the apcl1500. If you solved the problem please shoot me a message and let me know!!!!
I have a 12 in Kicker sub sand a 1000 watt mono Boss amp. Had it installed and worked perfectly for about a year. Sounded awesome even with the stock speakers in my car. Now, I'm still getting bass but it doesn't pump as loud AND now the stock 6x9 are rattling. This NEVER happened beforehand. I NEVER touched the settings, I checked for any loose cables, and EVERYTHING is the way it was when it was installed. Any ideas as to what happened and what I need to check? I did notice 2 fuses. I didn't check those. Will those affect the sound?
I have 2 American bass xr12d4 on an American bass ph4000md wen I turn the knob up it's then it goes out then comes right back on is it cause I dnt have the battery on it yet
How about some love for the moderately not-so-newbie people. How do you design an efficient subwoofer enclosure with very little box rise. Sometimes just having a 2 cubic feet enclosure to a single 12 per manufacturer spec just does not cut it output wise and when you clamp test it, it rises to 4 ohms when wired to 1 ohm, sometimes higher depending on the frequency played. How are these other people building boxes with less than .5 ohms of rise, wired to 1 ohm and rising up to only 1.6 or so?
Well my dumbass bought a prefab 4 years ago tuned to 47hz where as my woofers spec out at 32hz tuning in a vented box and they still got decently loud but the lows where lacking very much because it was tuned so high. I guess I could’ve added extra length to the ports but it also would’ve messed up the internal volume as well. I now have a custom box at 3.0 cubic feet tuned to 32hz and the lows are much more pronounced. So a higher tuned box will still output some decent spl at higher frequencies but will drop hard once you go down low in frequencies. So, moral of the story either buy/build a box to the specs of your subwoofer or get a prefab that is really close and the difference is night and day.
Please Help.. I have 2 12 L7's with a Kicker Cxa1200.1 had them in a 07 Jeepcommander Overland. They was STUPID LOUD. Now in a 12 Jeep GC Overland and not even close as loud. They was professionally installed. They told me they are loudER now. I know they are not. Please help
my subs were hitting good until i changed the battery because it was shot and corroded now with the new battery in the subs hit soft and slowly fades away what is the problem
okay, i have been searching information from everywhere and cant find it. on my pioneer (MVH-S320BT) has weird problem, i tried to measure that "pre out" voltage from the rca cabels and on the stereo own terminal and i get only 0.020V and i have tried other multimeters so the problem is not on tools. im sure everything is right on wiring and everything "should" be unbroken. im sure i have done everything right on measuring but sill doesnt get that 0.2V reading. i hope someone can give some answer for that. and my other problem in my amp (sd1600.1d evo4 2ohm) il have measured the out put voltage from that and i get only about 14V (AC) out, thats when the volume from stereo is 3/4 and gain is almost max but when i put some bass boost i get the max voltage out, what is promised on the amp manual. so far im thinking is that stereo low out put voltage causing low out put voltage to my amp aswell? thanks for help already!
Really dumb question and I think I figured it out gunna try after work but this is how my subs wired rn. Amp ( - ) two wires running to each ( - ) on each sub. SVC btw and then I have the positive running as if we're parallel. My subs randomly worked for 5 or 6 hours then next day they don't work. They work but sounds like shit and slowly cuts in and out. Guess that's the issue cuz I checked everything else. Any thoughts?
I’m having this issue, I got mine wired to 1 ohm and my amp supports 1 ohm. Could it be my electrical isn’t good enough to supply the proper power to my amp?
i have an amplifier that can output 235W rms at 2 ohm and 470 at 4 ohm bridged. but the sub that i want to get is 4 ohm dvc. i cant run it at 2 ohm bridged. now at 8 ohm will it move much, or better to wire it up for 2 ohm with 235 w. the sub is rated at 400wrms. pls help
Amp goes off after rca is hooked up.. Can unplug and plug back up and come on for maybe a couple seconds then right bCk off.. Bought new rca cord and it still doing same thing
It could also be a reflected wave that is out of phase. In which case moving the box, or opening the trunk will show. I see this more than I see wrong wiring.
I have a subwoofer two 10 inch 100 watts each and amp is tda2030 dual ic bridged for each channel transformer is 12 0 12 5 amps....normally its works fine and Good bass but higher volume level distortion starting like low powerd ...why...?
I'm having a problem with my system if I plug in one of my RCA cables one of my sub works really good but if I plug in both RCA cables both subs only work at like half power do you know what is wrong is it the RCA cables is it the head unit or is it the subs itself
Pioneer DEH-X7800DAB does that count as a cheap headunit? i wouldn't but i have a similar problem, my subwoofer cone is barely moving even men maxing the gain on my amp, dont know what is wrong, any possibility you know what the problem is?
is your subs hooked up right 2ohm 4ohm?your amp reads the ohm load like mine is 2ohm stable so im getting max watts from it but stock alternator and cheap battery so not getting full wattage
my sub is a B2 is12 2ohm DVC sub, first hooked it up in series thus getting 4ohm, i got a gas pro 1000.1 monoblock that can send 400w at 4ohms. even when the gain is maxed there is barely any movement in the cone... i rewired the sub to parallell, 1ohm, amp can push out 1000w max at 1ohm. here aswell, almost no cone movement even at max gain... checked all the polarities on the cables from the sub to the box terminalcup to the amp and all checks out fine... im really heartbroken about it because it seems like no one on the internet has the same problem as me and thus no solutions for me to find... you have any idea of what it could be? crossovers are not set, neither on the headunit nor the amp, tried setting it on the amp but without any improvements, amp is rated 1ohm 1000w stable btw
Daniel Lloyd I'm not in the workshop at the moment, it's 01.00am here in Sweden haha but I will check everything I can afternoon. I use the same rca cables to the front and the rear so I'm doubting it's them but hey.. even individual cables could be faulty. I'm gonna check with a multimeter tomorrow on the amps terminals to see how they behave. I also have a neighbor who works a lot with car audio, asked him to come over and have a look at my problem. i got work in 6h lol I'm just so desperate for a solution, can't stop searching around haha
He means wire a DVC sub to a SVC sub in parallel. Yes you can. But tell me what the impedance is of the DVC and the SVC sub and what your amp is rated for?
my subs only sound alright when i have bass boost turned up. but i have a epi center for my spanish music and it sounds good but once i switch to my rap music i turn the epi center off and there’s no bass. i have stock headunit can anyone help?
I bought 2 used subs from my friend for cheap, one Knwood and one MTX both 10 inch, and they're wired to a 2000w Pioneer amp which is overkill but it was free. I don't have the specs for the speakers and I wired them both bridged out of one channel to both subs, and I have them pretty low so I don't blow them but they sound bad. I need to know either A). What's a safe power output for the max power without blowing them, or B). How can I find their specs, they're from anywhere mid-2000's to 2010ish. Any help is appreciated!

Shout out to the NEWBS! We were all there at the beginning. And videos like these taught me so much. So glad you guys make videos. Wired up four TXX-BDC2-12s dual 4 at 2 ohms. On an APCLE30001.D.
You should also check if the ground is connected securely to the chasis. You lose power and clarity if the ground is lose.
What head unit do you have? I've been curious about doing that with mine..

Please explain and possibly demonstrate the use of the PHASE SELECTOR switch or knob on a crossover.
you can pop test with a 9v batt.
+hittin-low_150db+ I think you misunderstood what I was asking, a pop test determines negative or positive by the speaker popping in or popping out.
let me be as straight forward as I can be, I got a clarion MCD360 3 way crossover, in the subwoofer section there is a switch labeled PHASE which can be set to either 0° or 180°.
@@_bauer let me know if you have any more questions👍

@@stricknine2370you can always bypass the stock wiring by using your own speaker wire, be careful with the bass boost as it might fry ur speaker

Did you connect both of them bro ? Or any result did you solve the problem ??

I have 2 batteries 1 is a regular battery in the front and the other in a marine battery in the back.

well if you the cone moves OUT when the bass hits it's in phase, if it moves IN it's out of phase.

Speakers move both out and in, If you are using a single sub it doesnt matter too much anyway as most headunits let you flip the polarity.

I checked fuses, wires to the subwoofers and got 1 ohms to amplifier. Also the bass knob that it came with did absolutely nothing to help with the bass, same with the settings within my stereo that allow me to turn up the subwoofer. .5/10 if rating on a bass scale.

Can you make a video of how to check rca cables
Bro plug your phone straight into the amp with a headphone jack to RCA adapter. If it sounds fine your amp is fine . Pull your radio out and plug a new RCA into the back and run it over your seats to the trunk and see if you get Sound. no need to hide it all under the carpet yet until you verified your new cable is good. if all else fails your radio is probably fucked

How are these other people building boxes with less than .5 ohms of rise, wired to 1 ohm and rising up to only 1.6 or so?
or maybe his box is tuned too high and he was expecting more lower range, that's why his woofers are moving like crazy
@@_JoeMomma how do I buy a box close to my subs specs ? What do I do ? Match something ? I’m new to this stuff
Please help
my subs were hitting good until i changed the battery because it was shot and corroded
now with the new battery in the subs hit soft and slowly fades away what is the problem
Me too is like that
Same thing happen to me !!😩
Same thing happen to me 😢
Will the length of my jumpers affect subwoofer output ? I left the jumpers really long i have 2 dvc 4ohm parallel to 1ohm
What gauge wire and is it real copper or copper coated aluminum
okay, i have been searching information from everywhere and cant find it. on my pioneer (MVH-S320BT) has weird problem, i tried to measure that "pre out" voltage from the rca cabels and on the stereo own terminal and i get only 0.020V and i have tried other multimeters so the problem is not on tools. im sure everything is right on wiring and everything "should" be unbroken. im sure i have done everything right on measuring but sill doesnt get that 0.2V reading. i hope someone can give some answer for that. and my other problem in my amp (sd1600.1d evo4 2ohm) il have measured the out put voltage from that and i get only about 14V (AC) out, thats when the volume from stereo is 3/4 and gain is almost max but when i put some bass boost i get the max voltage out, what is promised on the amp manual. so far im thinking is that stereo low out put voltage causing low out put voltage to my amp aswell? thanks for help already!
Adjust subwoofer level on headunit
Really dumb question and I think I figured it out gunna try after work but this is how my subs wired rn. Amp ( - ) two wires running to each ( - ) on each sub. SVC btw and then I have the positive running as if we're parallel. My subs randomly worked for 5 or 6 hours then next day they don't work. They work but sounds like shit and slowly cuts in and out. Guess that's the issue cuz I checked everything else. Any thoughts?
What if the subs are quiet and also don't really move much? What could that be?
I agree I have the same just not really much bass
Maybe a better quality amp and or higher powered amp
I’m having this issue, I got mine wired to 1 ohm and my amp supports 1 ohm. Could it be my electrical isn’t good enough to supply the proper power to my amp?
4ohm better
how do I know if I have the peak of my woofer I have a cheap sub thats says 875w and 125rms and a kicker mono block 750 how can I find its sweat spot?
peak is bullshit, match the amp's RMS to your sub's RMS. then crank it... that will be the most your sub can safely handle
and use a ported box... theres a lot more to this but these are the most simple things to get more out of you sub
i have an amplifier that can output 235W rms at 2 ohm and 470 at 4 ohm bridged. but the sub that i want to get is 4 ohm dvc. i cant run it at 2 ohm bridged. now at 8 ohm will it move much, or better to wire it up for 2 ohm with 235 w. the sub is rated at 400wrms. pls help
How did you wire it at the end?
Amp goes off after rca is hooked up.. Can unplug and plug back up and come on for maybe a couple seconds then right bCk off.. Bought new rca cord and it still doing same thing
It could also be a reflected wave that is out of phase. In which case moving the box, or opening the trunk will show. I see this more than I see wrong wiring.
can you connect two different brand name car amp together and how to
I have a subwoofer two 10 inch 100 watts each and amp is tda2030 dual ic bridged for each channel transformer is 12 0 12 5 amps....normally its works fine and Good bass but higher volume level distortion starting like low powerd ...why...?
Hari K Nair bro. Pls use 24v 10amp most. Your problem will slove.
what happens when you have a dvc and have onc v/c correct and the other incorrect? does it just not move?
I'm having a problem with my system if I plug in one of my RCA cables one of my sub works really good but if I plug in both RCA cables both subs only work at like half power do you know what is wrong is it the RCA cables is it the head unit or is it the subs itself
Did you ever figure this out?
@@madeleinewestbrook9228 sadly no
Check if RCAs is plugged correctly, adjust subwoofer level on headunit, if it's 2 channel amp set filter on LPF and bridge it
if your head unit is cheap and not giving proper voltage through rca it wont sound right ether
Rca's might be bad or maybe headunit or possibly amp could be bad are you sure the amp is cutting on? Sounds like a problem with rca wires
I also have a neighbor who works a lot with car audio, asked him to come over and have a look at my problem. i got work in 6h lol I'm just so desperate for a solution, can't stop searching around haha
can you wire a dual voice coil sub to a single voice coil sub in parallel?
There is no such thing as wiring a dual voice coil speaker to a single voice coil.
He means wire a DVC sub to a SVC sub in parallel. Yes you can. But tell me what the impedance is of the DVC and the SVC sub and what your amp is rated for?
dvc 2 ohms svc 4ohms
1 0hm
amp 1 0hm
or where can i get the Samsung wiring for it
where are you guys located
if the amplifier is not getting any player from the car radio what is the problem
Explain why my amplifier is pick up the sound of my engine
Bad ground
Gain to high
my subs only sound alright when i have bass boost turned up. but i have a epi center for my spanish music and it sounds good but once i switch to my rap music i turn the epi center off and there’s no bass. i have stock headunit can anyone help?
I bought 2 used subs from my friend for cheap, one Knwood and one MTX both 10 inch, and they're wired to a 2000w Pioneer amp which is overkill but it was free. I don't have the specs for the speakers and I wired them both bridged out of one channel to both subs, and I have them pretty low so I don't blow them but they sound bad. I need to know either A). What's a safe power output for the max power without blowing them, or B). How can I find their specs, they're from anywhere mid-2000's to 2010ish. Any help is appreciated!
Bridged it's usually only 4 ohm stable
switch way does the speaker go n a honda van
which ever sounds best to you. personally I'd try rear-firing first
What if you have to woofers wich got their own enclosure ? Meaning 2 x seperate boxes
That shit is dumb and pointless
